This place was a great tea experience at one time but now it’s just an over rated place with weird rules. No digital payment till 10am Tea has more water than milk At Rs 30 tea is simply over rated Poha at Rs 40 over priced Their samosa and bunmuska is really good also mathr. I like the fact that they manage the parking space around their shop. They have enough staff to server you on time and with excellent precision and taste. If you are in Lucknow and want to visit this place I would suggest go early morning.

Over hyped ratings. Tea was not as per I expected, basically it was red tea with added milk separately. We are not accustomed to drink tea without boiling with milk. I did not check the samosas because I was very disappointed with the Tea. I don’t know why it is very famous maybe because of hazaratganj and MLA residence?

This is a popular tea stall located near GPO lucknow. The menu is pretty straight forward. Tea can be had in either paper cups or earthen pots. The samosas here are round in shape. The filling of the samosa is also unique as the potato for the filling is mashed unpeeled, imparting to it a smooth texture. The bun butter is nothing out of the ordinary. The place can get pretty crowded early in the morning especially on weekends.

Unchi Dukan Phiki Pakwan... Not as I expected many tea sellers selling for better tea than sharma ji ki tea at just 10rs compared to this 20rs. It is not as good as we hear about. There will be crowd always because of it's name and fame. But the quality is average.Cost is high and taste normal nothing very special. Don't waste your money on tasteless tea. There is no place to sit here, you have to stand and drink tea.

The place doesn't needs introduction, the rush at the place tells everything. Personally I love their chai and samosa. The way they make their chai and samosa is different. Samosa is round here and the filling of aloo is too much. A must visit place if you are in lucknow.

Extremely over hyped is what I feel.. The chai in paper glass 150 ml is extremely over hyped and good but not worth the hype that is created. But for sure try once.

Sharma Ji Ki Chai is a very famous and old tea stall in Lucknow known for it’s chai, bun makkhan (churned white butter), bun samosa and gol samosa along with mathri, suhal and mithai. The tea stall is very pocket friendly and offers fast service to its customers. Tea and snacks items are priced reasonably. Sharma Ji Ki Chai serves only vegetarian items. One of the best tea shops in Lucknow is centrally located and very near to the famous Hazratganj market. The tea stall is a bit crowded on Sundays and holidays and there is no place to sit but still you will find regular customers hogging bun makhan chai in Lucknow’s famous tea stall. It is a place where you can see all sections of society at one place, rich or poor both. You can have chai in Kulhad (clay cup) or a paper cup. Everywhere you will find triangle samosa but here at Sharma Ji Ki Chai you will get gol/round samosa. The tea stall was founded by Shri Om Prakash Sharma in 1949. He was native of Aligarh. Sharma Ji Ki Chai shop is 70 years old and is now in its third generation. Deepak Sharma son of Om Prakash Sharma is the owner of Sharma Ji Ki Chai. The tea stall is also managed by the grandson of Shri Om Prakash Sharma. Manav Sharma is the third generation of the Sharma family who is taking the legacy of his grandfather forward. Sharma Ji Ki Chai was visited by big politicians like former PM Shri Atal ji, former UP CMs Kalyan Singh & Rajnath Singh and was also visited by Raj Babbar, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Many TV and Bollywood celebrities like Sanjeev Kapoor, Rajniesh, Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday had also visited the tea stall on their visit to Lucknow.

Perfect shop for tea lovers in Lucknow The place 'Sharma Ji Ki Chai' is a small shop with mainly 3 popular items on their menu list, chai, bun makkhan, and samosa. The place is very famous in the whole of Lucknow. The shop is more than 50 years old now and has had 3 generations running it. The chai is served in both kulladh and normal glass, customers can taste the morning tea in whichever way they want. The place opens up at around 7 in the morning with the crowd eagerly waiting outside to sip their morning tea. The place is one of the must-try places among food enthusiasts and especially tea lovers.

The samosa was amazing , the poha wasn’t bad . Tea was sweet and milky ( if you like it that way ) . Gets very crowded but they manage to keep it moving and do not let people wait too long . A Lucknow institution - happy to have visited

This was my first time visiting this place in about 10 years. The environment was very nice as it is open and you can even sit in front of this place. 🌿🌱 The shortcomings are that honestly it was a lot better back then right now they are just having the benefit of their goodwill they earned earlier. ☄️ The tea was very dark and also the quantity they serve as compared to the price is little less. But the other things like samosa and bun makhan were just awesome and they actually made my day.😋🤩 Also the crowd was legit that day (Sunday morning) so it was really very difficult to order and take it as there was literally no place.🌼 But the service was real quick it was like I ordered and got the order in 5 minutes. Honestly everybody has their own taste of chai as we know that tea for Indians is like an emotion it's not just a drink.🔥 So, which I found dark you may not please visit this place if you visit Lucknow.❄️ This place has its own legacy as they have been in this business for more than 3 decades. 🌈

Always a treat to visit this place. The best samosa, bun makkhan and chai combination is served here. The tea has a taste of its own and so do the other condiments. Their samosas get sold out pretty quickly (yes, they are good!) And then it takes them about 30 mins to stick them up again. But it's worth the wait :)

It was good to visit the famous tea shop. I visited in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was moderately crowded. My bad luck that they were out of 'kulhad'(clay cup) so I could not have 'kulhad wali chai' but the same tea tasted good in paper cup too.

It looks as if Lucknow doesn’t wake up with out having Sharma ji ki chai . People throng this place for chai , bun butter , uniquely round shaped samosa and poha every morning .it is quite popular hence please expect a waiting time before you could lay your Hand on your “ kulhad”of chai . The tea and milk are boiled separately and the butter is home made . Must visit if you are in Lucknow #purevegetarian #lucknow

This is my favourite place in Lucknow. I visited several times. It’s taste never gets old and is never enough for the people who are tea lovers. This is red tea with milk added separately. I recommend having tea with bun Makhan and a samosa. They have enough staff to server you on time and with excellent precision and taste. If you are in Lucknow and want to visit this place I would suggest going early in the morning or evening. The place is awesome and a must try when in Lucknow.

This Tea is hands-down THE BEST TEA i ever had. Froth on top of tea compliments the tea like anything. Any ingredient of tea will not overpower any other ingredient and it will give you subtle flavour. I recommend having it in Kullar as it adds to taste. Can have Bun with White butter but its ok as compared to Tea. Must Have !

I visited Sharma Ji ki Chai Stall early in the morning during my Lucknow Visit and found the place to be super crowded. While I was excited to try the tea, I was disappointed to find that it was just average and didn't meet my expectations. In my opinion, the place is overhyped and doesn't live up to the hype. However, the samosa I had was comparatively good and I enjoyed it. Although the tea was not up to the mark, the atmosphere was lively due to the crowd. Overall, I would recommend trying the samosas at Sharma Tea, but don't expect the tea to be amazing.

This is my favourite place in Lucknow!! This was the second time I went to have 'Band Makhhan' with Tea!! The crowd tells everything, people get the order and go and eat inside their own car when the nearby park is full!!! The quality is not reduced, I feel it has improved. Scale can improve the quality!! :) Must Visit!

A great place to have tea is the shop near the Hazaratgaj, Lucknow . It serves the most amazing tea, with a wonderful smell and a right amount of milk and sugar. You can also try some tasty snacks like samosa and band makkhan, which are very yummy and crunchy. The shop is always full of people, but the staff is quick and courteous. It is a must visit for anyone who likes tea and good food.

The taste of tea and bun maska was very good. Even samosa is quite different and very good. The sitting area is also good. This shop is very old and famous too. Sitting area is the park adjacent to sharma jee ki chai ki dukaan.

When your local Lucknow expert - Ankisha - tells you to visit Sharma Ji Ki Chai before 7 AM, I thought it was hyped. Walked it down to the place, and saw the eager crowd waiting for long - even before the magical Chai was ready by 07:15. As soon as the Chai was ready you could hear murmurs from the crowd "Chai ban gayi, Chai ban gayi". For someone who has had Chai from around the place, this new found religion of Chai worshippers appeared questionable.. Till I took my first sip from the kullad. Children, if you visit Lucknow, do enroll in this religious practice to be cleansed of the lovely kebabs of the last night and be ready to start the day again! The samosa and poha is worthy of a mention, piping hot and just the right mash of peas and potato in a very earthy masala in the samosa VS a large dash of lemon, two types of sev, onion and poha with a very mild tadka. Personally, the maska bun was a slight let down, maybe coz my local Irani Chai wala at Mumbai makes the bun maska better :)

We tried the famous gol samosa and tea here. The Samosa masala was different than what we eat and it was a good experience. The tea was definitely very good. Tea samosa combo a definite yes. There were many people having bun tea samosa and the place was lively with a guy performing live opposite to this chai place.

The most famous chai joint/place of Lucknow. However, we didn't like the bun makhans. Rather we bought some hot jalebies from a nearby street vendor and we enjoyed it more. In terms of the tea or the chai, it was truly best of the quality. And the kulhad (clay cups) also added a lovely flavor. A tip, please be patient after placing the order as this place is mostly crowded during morning and you may have to wait for 10-20 mins before receiving you hot cup of chai.

Enjoyed. Crowd is well managed. Very popular shop and is usually crowded in the morning. Tea was really great. And samosas, were simply awesome. Don’t like the bun muska much felt but overhyped about it. Rest tea and samosa is a must try.

Honestly lucknow valo ke liye toh this place needs no introduction but yes if you are visiting from any other place I believe you might have already heard about this place but if haven't heard about this place then yes yes yes please go and try this place they serve you the most amazing tea , samosa , bun makhan that is absolutely phenomenal in taste I would personally suggest to try Poha here it's outstanding and tastes so good that I can promise you that you haven't had poha like this before in your life. Everything is really good here I would suggest( Bun Makhan Samosa )together and chai⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if you really want you can try there Suhal also ⭐⭐⭐

The place is awesome and a must try when in Lucknow. You have a range to cover and hence must be visited to have a “feel good” experience. Tea, Samosa, Bun Makkhan, Poha and more. Touch crowded and may have to wait, but truly worth it. Stand there and relish the taste. Experience the magic and awesomeness of the taste. Ideally would have rated 4, but +1 because of the experience. Take care of the parking when visiting as this is one thing that’s a bit tough to find. Miss it at your own risk…

This is a well known and highly crowded shop , filled with chai lovers. So during my recently visit to the city i got to explore this place. They serve best bun makkhan ,which is prepared inhouse . The butter is more like cream cheese . Chai is refreshing served hot in kulhad . Poha was also good it was soft and well seasoned. It hardly took us 5 minute to get our order. Service is quick Payment option cash and gpay available. We parked our car at sahara mallamd explored these lanes with the help of e-rikshaw to avoid the hussle of parking . Must try place if you visit lucknow

For people staying in Lucknow, this place does not need any introduction for them. This is my all time favourite place when I visit Lucknow. It’s taste never gets old and is never enough for the people who are tea lovers. I recommend having tea with bun Makhan and a samosa. Prices are quite reasonable and the taste can’t be expressed. I found this place busy during morning time 7-10 and evening 5-7. The tea is served in Khullar (cup made out of a pot material). Sharma is a must go place if one pays his/her visit to Lucknow.

A place with a great taste. Visited this place for the first time and it was a great experience. A must go place to have chai bun makkhan and gol samosa in the morning. Gol samosa tastes really different although it's just the shape but it really changes the taste in your mind. I went there in the morning and really enjoyed it. Kulhad tea ☕ is something which reminds me of the tea which i had in Banaras. Amazing experience!!! Follow Sparsh Musafir On YouTube & Instagram

We tried the very famous Sharma Ji Ki Chai, the Kulhad Chai was priced at 30 and we also tried bun makhan at the same price. The tea is good and the quantity is also very good. The place is always buzzing with people.

Busy but cute eatery. Very famous among the people of Lucknow. Frequented by the commoners and visited by celebrities. We ordered kulhad chai, bun maska, and bun samosa. Each and every item was worth the money. The bun samosa had a filling of samosa inside a slit-open bun. The samosa was tasty and not too spicy. The bun was slightly sweet and went well with the samosa. The bun maska was very wholesome. My guess is that the butter is made in-house, as it was thick and had a rich, creamy flavour. The chai was good, and it was a welcome relief from the cold winter morning. It was a tad bit too sweet for my taste, though.

Nice tea, located very close to Hazratganj market, but no parking area. Tea costs ₹20 on paper cup and ₹30 in earthen pot. Bun Malayi is so-so and Samosa is good.

  • 5/5 Vinay Y. 2 years ago on Google
Tea is always good with a consistent and balanced taste..One can also try Bun butter with white butter, samosa (round in shape), bun samosa etc. There is one more stall serving poha. There's a small park with some benches in front of the shop. A nice place to grab a cup of tea alone or with friends. Fast service and pocket friendly menu are added advantages. If you are around the place it's worth a visit for a refreshing break or chit chat round with friends. This tea shop is also a famous attraction for tea lovers of Lucknow and ppl visiting the city.

This place is basically famous for early morning chai with bun maska. And literally I am fond of Sharma ki chai.. whenever I visit my hometown I have to go to Sharma chai without that my trip is incomplete. There samosa and poha are also very tasty. You will be never disappointed from this place.

Popular and how! We got here on a Tuesday evening, around 5:30pm and it was CROWDED. we managed to get some space and quickly ordered - kulhad chai, samosa, bun maska and suhal! Definitely try the chai and samosa, the samosa is truly wonderful and unique- it's round and delicious. Must must visit. Do anticipate crowd.

Centrally located shop, very close to Hazratganj market. Tea in 20rs., the taste and hygiene is good. In the evening, it gets too crowded. Their bun maska and samosa are super famous, I liked the round shaped samosa

Tea quantity was sufficient and had a great taste. The bun was super soft and the samosa tasted originally from Purvanchal. I specially drove to this place while going to my hometown and checked one off the bucket list.

A chai place must be grab n go place especially if it’s located at a busy intersection. This shop is right in the middle of the bazaar( market) n it’s always swamped with people. Tea lovers flock this place at all hours but especially during morning n evening time. If you fancy something quick to eat then grab a butter n bun to go with your tea. Prices are as low as possible.

Good experience and taste was well managed What I ordered 1. Kulhad Chai - Perfect Blend of Taste 2.Maska Bun 3. Samosa - Must Try There is a long queue so find a table near you and the waiter will take your order Also there is a nearby park you can grab a tray and sit over there Also there is a washroom on the same road to your right so all the people directly coming from the station Or bus stop can use that it's well managed. Charges are 20 ₹and 10₹ respectively Overall Good experience. Recommended to try.

Legendary Shop - Sharma Ji ki Chai is popular on Social Media. Famous for Chai, Samosa and Bun Makkhan Taste : Good, people say it was much better earlier - still the brand is doing a good job Parking : Located in the heart of Hazratganj, you need to use multilevel parking. Prefer Ola/Uber/ Local Auto for a smoother ride particularly during lunch and evenings. Price : Moderate Staff : In general it is crowded, still staff do a decent job Service time : Quick Payment : Cash & Online You should visit the place once if you are in and around Haratganj for the first time.

Sharma Ji Ki Chai is an emotion to Lucknow’s People. I reached at 7 am. So many people are standing to take chai and ban makkhan & goal samosa. Chai’s taste is so good. Ban Makkhan's taste is good, I don't like gol samosa so much. Poha’s taste is so-so. The shop closed at 8 pm. If you come to Lucknow then start your day from Sharma Ji Ki Chai.
