I'm never one to write bad reviews, but after my recent experience living here I feel that it's best to warn others about the careless management and ridiculous leasing terms of this apartment. I've lived here the past two years. The first year was fine, but this year has been nothing short of a consistent battle with the leasing office and maintenance. Cockroaches and mice came first, and exterminators had to be called 3 times within a 2 month span. The real kicker was when our vents collapsed in our apartment. We spent over two weeks with our entire apartment covered in plastic as they ripped holes in our floors and ceilings to move our venting system. NO HEAT WAS IN OUR APARTMENT WHEN IT WAS 19 DEGREES OUT. When I asked if we would get a rent decrease or any benefits? A decrease in rent? Anything? The response was that unless the apartment was "unlivable", we would stay there. Space heaters that circuited our electricity every 5 minutes and barely worked? Men in and out of our apartment all day for over 2 weeks? Basically no heat in the winter weather? Sounds pretty unlivable to me. We received absolutely nothing from this leasing office, except for degradation from the management as they tried to downplay the situation. When speaking with the leasing office, the supervisor continuously talked down to us as if we didn't understand the terms or conditions of our apartment or lease. The final issue came about when I told them we had a gas leak as well. I got met with a response of "Oh, ok, sure... you don't because we had our maintenance supervisor in there today and he would have smelled it". I had to repeatedly ask this supervisor for someone to check our apartment for a GAS LEAK that could have been very harmful, to only have them come over and confirm that we did in fact have one, shocker. Living at this apartment complex has been nothing short of a nightmare. My roommates and I have had to go to Continental Realty Management multiple times to try and fix situations that should have been easily resolved with the leasing office. Every time I walk into this leasing office I feel horrible. The power trip that this management team is on, and the manipulation they use against students and young professionals needing a place is horrendous. They squeeze you for every dime you have, and push you around to a point where you feel incredibly uncomfortable. I can't wait to move out of this place. Please don't live here.

I lived here for 2 years. Overall really nice place. Pros: Its safe, really beautiful with all the trees around and sometimes you can even spot deers from your bedroom window (depending on your unit), super close to the I-695, Trader Joes + Mall is walking distance and so is a community park as well as a sports centre. Maintenance staff is 10/10. Mostly they complete orders the same day or the next. Spacious apartments. Floor plans are ideal too - separate kitchen, dining area and living room. Cons: If your unit is facing the freeway - it can get noisy. The HVAC units are really loud and the A/C sound in your living room can get frustrating. Every now and then there is a mouse problem but its endemic to the region is my understanding. Parking is not assigned and sometimes (rarely though) it can be a problem. Overall the management and the community is great. I was pretty happy I found this place. Will recommend.

I lived here while in college, BUILDING 1149. My apartment was well kept from the first day to the last day and we still had mice. I’m almost positive the apartment was infested before we moved in. Exterminators were in our home every other week and were useless. Management was useless. I’m highly considering suing for the living conditions and inability/ unwillingness to fix the issues. You shouldn’t have to live with rodents that you did not cause. It’s cheap rent for a reason. I don’t know how we got so unlucky with an infested apartment. We ironically lived next door to a maintenance man who claimed he didn’t have mice in his apartment (which is why they made no attempt to do the right thing).

the person who toured/gave me my lease as phenomenal. Office staff is always nice. I had super high hopes for this place, but believe it when the reviews say MICE!!! I live in constant fear and anxiety.. pest control & maintenance have been here every week for a month, claiming they have patched holes and i still see them. Would definitely break my lease if i could. BUILDING 1109 Charles view!!!

WORST Apartment Community EVER!! I’ve heard gunshots between 2-4 am. There also was a case of stabbing. HEAVILY Drug infested. Lots of drug dealing and crime at night and Lots of loud parties. U’ll get no sleep!!! The best part is just lying on the ground is heroin needles and other drug paraphernalia. Completely unsafe for families and pets or legit anyone. Gotta be super careful when taking out the trash so u don’t step on a needle or pipe. Also have fun seeing trash everywhere and beer cans/ solo cups. My car has been broken into multiple times. Lots of theft. Mice infested even in the summer no matter what u do. Even with traps and leasing office doing pest control still doesn’t help. If u don’t park before it gets dark u’ll get no parking bc visitors take it and leasing office doesn’t enforce it. So you basically gotta park at Kenilworth mall. Carrying lots of groceries from Kenilworth mall up the hill to ur apartment is exhausting . Meanwhile people attending parties and buying drugs have no problem parking. Maintenance is the only good thing about this place! Running as fast as I can out of this place once my lease is up. Can’t wait til it’s FINALLY move out time

I love this apartment. The maintenance is extremely effective and hands on. The ladies in the leasing office are kind!! However, I do not like our parking situation. We have limited parking spaces for guests and we only receive parking passes on Thursdays.

I have been here almost a month now. I compared several different apartment complexes before selecting this one. I also looked at Roger’s forge apartments and the Stevenson apartments-both have more recent updates such as newer appliances, etc. and were more expensive. I only selected this one because I found a perfect sublease, but really love it. I love the light, I like the nice open lay out in the living room, and I love the balcony. I like that parking is free (unlike the Roger forge apartments) and I haven’t had trouble finding a space. The proximity to Trader Joe’s, and 695 and 83 and the wooded setting is also great. The office staff are very helpful and friendly and I’m very happy to have settled here instead of the other apartment options I considered.

I must admit, this is my first time writing a review and I would like to express how awful it is to live at Kenilworth at Charles. They initially asked my roommates and I which unit we would prefer to live in, and basically gave us everything opposite of what we had asked for. We signed a lease for a unit not on the ground floor level, and closer to the shuttle, however they changed our unit last minute and did not meet any of our small requirements. We have filed many noise complaints of which they refuse to settle and responded with "it is part of living in a communal residence." Billing issues also came up where they gave us a late fee for a payment their automatic payment processor couldn't process, and seemed clueless where the fee even came from but still demanded it. People working at the front desk of the leasing Office will only give you attitude and a dismissive tone towards college students. One good thing about the complex is their maintenance. They are very quick and funny/nice workers. however, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! Not worth your money or energy dealing with these clueless people.

Lived here in college and felt the need to update this previously great review. The apartments are a good size and good price. The maintenance team is super responsive and prompt and come within. The shuttle to the university is convenient. However, we had a huge mice problem while living here and parking was pretty tight at night.
