Attended 'illuminated' at Stockwood Park this evening. Enjoyed hot chocolate with Christmas cakes, before we explored the gardens. We all loved the festive feel to the gardens, particularly the 300 year old tree of life.. A very enthusiastic volunteer educated us on Stockwood Park having the largest collection of carriages in Europe! Free parking.. Very friendly staff.. We intend to visit in the spring.

Stockwood Park is a beautiful public park that offers a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages. The park has well-maintained gardens, an arboretum, and several walking trails that are perfect for nature walks and picnics. The Stockwood Discovery Centre, located within the park, is a must-visit attraction for those interested in the local history and culture of the area. The museum's collection of objects related to rural life, crafts, and industry is well-curated, and the collection of historic vehicles, including buses and carriages, is impressive. The park's golf course, children's play area, and other recreational facilities make it an ideal destination for families and groups of friends. Overall, Stockwood Park is a wonderful place to spend a day enjoying the natural beauty of the park and learning about the local history and culture.

Alone or with your bunch, to declutter your mind or to rejuvenate. The daffodils in their beautiful yellow gowns dancing in the sun. Wow.

Stunning at the Discovery Centre. Gentleman at the entrance offered a wheelchair to us, made the visit so much more enjoyable and easy.

Really impressive park. A lot of thought and care has gone into this area. Free entry and very popular. The cafe could possibly do more in terms of choice but that is a small point.

Nice gardens and play area for the kids. The museum is good to walk round and have a look at the past (so many carriages or other old means of transport). Free parking very close by and we love watching the planes fly over head. They also have a cafe and toilets on site too.

Great place for young children to explore and run around the gardens. Must check web site for opening times and days. There was a large queue at 11am. The discovery car centre are having a art display on modern slavery. Beautiful art work. Green places are clean and safe, and staff are very helpful and polite

Nice - the golf course seems well tended and well frequented, the wilder areas are managed so they haven't become too wild and the size of the place gives plenty to explore. Downsides, it's directly under the flight path right next to the airport so the planes here are frequent and very loud. Also there's a potentially lovely pond right at the back which could be nice but it's sadly neglected and full of rubbish.

Great park with plenty space, variety of parking spaces inside and at different entrances. Park for younger kids, golf centre, atheletics track, stockwood transport museum and Discovery Centre Gardens with plenty to see and sit in beautifully mentained Greenland, they even have a Hen called Maggie, vegs growing, places to sit and enjoy the view and a cafe (serves hot and cold food) with inside and outdoor seating, kids park inside the Discovery center too. ALSO a souvenir shop with great bits and bobs and local produce such as Bedfordshire honey variety, Jams etc. Sometimes you may even see the horses from the stable out for a walk. Discovery Centre closes about 4.45 (I think🤔) Bascially doesn't open into the evenings. Fantastic for scenic walk. Toilets inside Discovery Centre which is also wheel chair friendly. I encourage people to not litter to keep the place as gorgeous as it is.

Like the winter lights. I relaxed gentle event. I'd say good for families with children in buggies and for adults but no rides for the younger children and no market stalls/food/ drink stalls for the over 18 crowd. So consider what type of event you are looking for. The restaurant was open offering drinks & snacks and toilets are available. Overall we enjoyed a stroll round the lit gardens

EDIT: Have come back post-COVID and spent the entire day here. Discovery Center is great for the kids and facilities are clean. On-site cafe is recommended for an ice-cream or coffee. There is a large green space in front and behind the center, perfect for picnics in the summer.

We went during a garden party, which was superb. Stockwood Park is absolutely one of those brilliant family friendly places. No, not just family friendly, family orientated. Lots of different spaces, they champion the words free water on their restaurant signage, is completely accessible - good museum - and on the whole, a perfect cost-free family day out. They sell flowers for your garden, alongside the usual gift shop. Toilets are good condition and always (in my experience) clean. Lots of green spaces, an exciting playground for the little people (good equipment for genuinely all ages). Lots of green spaces. Want somewhere to take the family? Go here Want somewhere quiet to read a book in a field, go here! They spend a lot of effort here, and it shows. Recommended!

This used to be a beautiful well kept park but it really seems to have gone down hill. Some parts of the garden looked uncared for and it's a shame the bea area isn't open. It looks very scruffy looking in now. The children's play area is still quite popular. We went in for a cup of tea and had a dried up piece of lemon cake. When going to pay we were told quite abruptly that they didn't take cash. Customer service was certainly lacking. On a nice day it's ideal for a picnic in the outside grounds

Large site with impressive carriage collection, local history exhibits and gardens. Some of the greenhouses were closed when I visited but I suspect they were going to be reopened following refurbishment. Cafe and shop on site with standard fare. I found the sculpture garden a disappointment and not very well signed but otherwise a good place especially considering entry is free.

It has everything a family would want to see on a day out. So many things to see. It has a museum that shows cars and carriages. It has some history with Vaxhaul cars and they once made cars over there. You will not be disappointed for sure. Plenty for all ages. 😊😊😊

A very good place for walking especially with you pets. You can experience lot of greenery there. It has some old trees which are there for hundred years. This place can help with refreshing your mind.

The perfect family day-out. Beautiful gardens, interactive exhibitions and the largest carriage collection in Europe! And it’s free, so you could say, your carriage awaits… There’s so much to discover at Stockwood! Boasting a thrilling programme of exhibitions, an award-winning carriage display, an outdoor children’s play area and breathtaking walled gardens. Our museum galleries bring the stories of local people to life, dating back from prehistoric times to the present day! Top tip - keep an eye out for the Wenlock Jug, a rare medieval masterpiece. Who knew a jug could tell you so much about Luton?! And our Garden Café is open every day, serving up delicious homegrown food, using fruit and vegetables from our garden.

A lovely place to take your family or friends. It is especially nice if you like walking long distances around the park including the golf centre. Worth the exercise and the scenery is beautiful

So peaceful and lovely. I could have spent hours here just wandering around and taking it all in.

Took my granddaughter and her friend to the illuminations. A visual and aural treat. The girls giggled shouted and wandered in the illuminated gardens. The cost of only £4 was reasonable given the need to put on the event. The girls also enjoyed the playback in the dark. We we're there for over an hour in the below zero temperatures. Had a hot chocolate for myself with 2 slush puppies 🐶 for the girls a treat for £7.00.

This is my local park and for me it's the most underrated such a huge area beautiful sites if your ever in the Farley Hill area and have time stop off and have a walk around.

Nice place for the children and parents. Shame no seating area with a cafe for dog walkers who also fancy a cuppa. Gardens were a bit bare but then we went not long after all the Covid and places just getting back on their feet. Nice day out for families if Not a lot of money. We tend to walk the golf course and park as not allowed in with pets in the cafe outside area.
