Eat the sushi! Drink the sake! You won't find a more Japanese experience with this much authenticity and passion anywhere in the region! Chef Ryodo Kajiwara-san, the extraordinary Olivier, sake sommelier, and the entire staff make this an event with genuine authenticity! The food is fresh and imaginative, the environment is upscale yet convivial and the service is fantastic!! *update Nov 2021* congratulations Chef for being named #1 in Luxembourg by Gault Millau! Very well deserved! ps They’re even better than before!

Absolutely worth the experience, we loved it and it was really different place from usual restaurants, we tried great deal of different dishes and all of them were tasty, especially very good sashimi. Recommend it and we will be back again! In addition the staff is great and professional.

I had high expectations and unfortunately the food was not anything special. The presentation of the food is good and the Sashimi was great. While most of the dishes were good, some dishes appeared to have been of poor quality, especially since two people experienced food poisoning symptoms afterwards. The atmosphere is great and the staff are lovely, the prices are also alright for this type of restaurant. Generally it's an ok restaurant but I would not necessarly recommend or visit again.

One arrogant Japanese restaurant that does not deserve a Michelin star. See the photo of 12 variation of sushis that costs 51 euros. When it was served, it was surprising to see only 6 pieces of “Sushi” while the rest was replaced with “Vegi-Makis” (cucumber and carrot). Not communicated in advance and terrible to see the chef is blaming the today’s fish supply/cost to the customer. NOT PROFESSIONAL!!! The worst lunch to celebrate the special day.

I had the vegetarian menu which was not at the level of a michelin restaurant. Especially the main dish and the one before were very poor. I was hoping for more creativity and variety for such a price tag. Much more can be done from a vegetarian perspective. The potential is given but it needs a lot of improvement. I suggest to either stop the vegetarian option or revamp the whole menu with much more creativity and variety.

It’s an exclusive Japanese restaurant in Luxembourg. The food is authentic and delicious, superb services, and minimalist decor. Strongly recommend!

Attentive staff and great food in a relaxing atmosphere. One of the best Japanese restaurants in Luxembourg. You can either have a menu for lunch or for dinner. Both are great. On top you have a great selection of Sake! Top

This is menu Variation de sushis 12 pièces (51€). Due to the lack and insufficient supply of seafood, they served 6 pieces of sushi with fish and 8 veggie maki (carrot & cucumber). They did not communicate the situation ahead about these alternative ingredients. The waiter and the chef only told us to pay more if we wanted to change to fish sushi, and they responded that they couldn't offer any other options. Is it reasonable for cucumbers and carrots to be the main ingredients for the main dish in a high-end restaurant? Here is a Michelin 1-star restaurant, but I can't believe that cucumbers and carrots are substitutes for lack of ingredients, and I wonder who could understand. (Half of the 12 were replaced with CUCUMBERS & CARROTS).

Small place, high quality. Really beautiful place, excellent quality. Very fresh and authentic Japanese Sushi (highly recommend to try the Wagyu-Beef-Nigiri). Very good selection of Japanese Sake (NihonShu) in all price levels. If you're going for Lunch, Bento Menu is the one I can highly recommend. Starter-Main-Dessert for a fair price, if you want with pairing Sake and/or wine.

Absolutely lovely experience at Ryodo. My husband and I each got the sushi menus, as we both wanted to try the A5 wagyu and caviar. The two starters had some very unique flavors that blended very well together. All of the sushi dishes melted in your mouth, especially the amaki and toro. The servers and manager explained different types of sakes to us that would go well with each of our dishes, so we each had at least 3 different sakes throughout the meal. We came to Luxembourg for our honeymoon and are so glad we decided to book a reservation here. I think the value for how much food you get is incredible. We were both completely stuffed by the end of the meal. The bonus present at the end was also a lovely added touch. Highly recommend if you enjoy Japanese culture/sushi and want to cross off a Michelin star restaurant while in Luxembourg.

The wife and I visited yesterday and were delighted with the fixed price 8-course sushi meal for Eur 115. It was divine! My advice to the chef: RAISE YOU PRICES. It is too cheap for the quality and variety offered. Anyone who appreciates this cuisine won't hesitate to pay Eur 35 - Eur 55 more. I've already made reservations for our return.

Tried the tasting menu which had dishes prepared meticulously with finest ingredients paired with the best Sakes. Amazing Experience but be prepared to spend atleast 3 hours for the entire course.

It was very good, but I’d expect more from a Michelin restaurant. Partially because other visitors were making too much noise, which would affect our ability to listen to the waiters as they explained what delicacies we were being presented. Also, I didn’t appreciate leaving with my clothes smelling like food Food wise, quite good

Habla Manotas, Thanks to my friend Jeffster I could experience such good dishes. Because he is a regular we were there before Chef Ryodo got his first Michelin Star. What a great experience.

After having heard from this place after seeing several appearances in different newspapers congratulating them on their michelin star we had to give them a try. After having already the pleasure to enjoy different michelin rewarded japanese restaurants throughout various countries, we went to this one with high expectations. Nonetheless we kept on the back of our mind that we can not compare this place to the others since being located in luxembourg getting crucialy important ingredients, which makes you have a authentic taste of japan, very difficult. Upon entering we’ve been greeted by the chef de salle and appointed to our according seating area. The service was nice but we expected more. There was no sake tasting. The suggestions were good but we would’ve liked to try others to find the one which maybe wouldve fitted our taste better. The food was nothing extraoridinary, decorations were not very creative and mostly involded dry ice fog effect. It would’ve been nice to have the wagyu a5 presented and explained more precisely since that dish was the star of the course. For the 20€ extra to get the wagyu it really didnt taste super special to me. The desert were good and had some hints of japan. We have to note that two of us had a upset stomach after the dinner.

Fantastic experience! The ambiance was relaxed and cozy yet sophisticated. The menu prepared by the kitchen staff was of superb quality, the ingredients fresh, the flavors gradually increasing in intensity, presented in an artful way to please the eyes as well as the palate. To top it off, the staff is an absolute highlight of this restaurant. Lovely, attentive, and with a thorough knowledge of the menu and all individual ingredients of each dish. In short, this restaurant is a gem!

Clean quaint atmosphere. Warm and attentive reception from the staff. Food was beautifully plated however none of the courses were particularly delicious. I had the degustation menu (€163) and only enjoyed the desert course. My partner had the sushi menu (€150) which had some highlights like the tuna and caviar making roll. Overall, I am disappointed with the taste of the food in comparison to the high sticker price. Would not recommend.

First time visiting Ryodo for our anniversary dinner and had high expectations given the Michelin rating and rave reviews. My partner and I each had the sushi menu, priced at 156€ per person. Overall the quality and flavour of the food was extremely disappointing and I can’t comprehend how they earned their Michelin star. One of my partners dishes was served with a hair in it; this was immediately replaced but no other explanation or compensation was offered aside from an ‘oops, sorry’ which, given the price tag and rating for this restaurant is shocking. I understand mistakes can happen but finding a hair in a dish at a Michelin ranked restaurant and being given a sheepish sorry is simply unacceptable. We tasted several different sake’s, one of which was warm and served in the traditional short glasses and while pouring this, the waiter spilled half the glass on the table. The sake soaked table was wiped but again, no attempt was made to replace what had been spilled leaving my partner with barely half of what I received. Considering what they charge per glass, we were shocked. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice but nothing you wouldn’t expect in your average restaurant here in Luxembourg or anywhere else. Generally very disappointed with our experience and wouldn’t return or recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially guests who are accustomed to fine dining. Much needed improvements to flavour, hygiene standards and service if they want to live up to a Michelin experience.

We've had a really nice dining experience, the meals and the service were very high quality and the taste combinations were really inspiring. The atmosphere is great, I especially liked how they managed to introduce each meal without disturbing our private conversations.
