It is a very glamorous place, but you can't even stay in the shadow in temperatures close to 50 C/120 F around, and no sunscreen works. Make sure you bring an umbrella and plenty of water!

This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited and certainly one of my favourites in Egypt; it’s absolutely stunning. Very well kept and is definitely worth the trip, it’s a must see when you visit Egypt. It’s truly jaw dropping, eye popping and majestically gorgeous.

We visited this with our amazing local guide after a morning at the Valley of the Kings. Hugely impressive mortuary temple for Hatshepsut: the Queen who was pharaoh. Such a great story. Especially her besotted architect of this temple. Tickets can be bought on the day from the ticket office. 🎟 Make sure you take a hat, sunscreen and water as this cam be a real 🌞 trap. There are quite a few visitors so it gets warm and busy inside the columns. Highly recommended

Another amazing archaeological site and historic site in Egypt that you must visit when you are in the area. It is well known for its large statues, open courtyard, and beautiful location with the mountains in the background. You can walk to the temple from the entrance, but it’s worth it to pay a small fee to jump on one of the many electric shuttles to get to the temple, because you will be doing quite a bit of walking, including a fair number of steps, to see the entire temple. It gets busy by late morning as the buses start to arrive, so go really early or later in the day if you can.

Spectacularly impressive building when you approach it. Nothing like this we saw anywhere else in Egypt. The interiors pale in comparison. Take the buggy as it's a hot walk to and fro.

This temple is amazing! Most of the temple were restored they done a great job doing so. This is a must-see when you’re visiting Egypt. Make sure you arrive before midday as it is extremely hot. You would need plenty of fluids. And definitely make sure you have a hat. Please be aware that you constantly have to keep keeping tipping people in the temples. It gets on your nerves. 🚨Tip: Come with a licensed guide and do not trust “guides” at the location itself. They are not licensed and might give you false information.

In October 2021, Our group visited the temple. It was very beautiful, powerful, and majestic. Her temple is right behind the valley of the kings. It was extremely hot on this day. So please bring a hat sunblock water and an extra chip/ SD card for your camera.

flew from Cairo 07.30h and arrived this temple 09.30h. the temple(s) were built at the edge of the desert (where the Valley of the Kings was at the back over the hill). the entire settings were simply mind blowing and magnificent. the 3 levelled courts and the ramps were the unique architectural features. I liked the decorative wall mural as they were the stories of Hatshepsut. suggest joining a balloon tour, that from a distant may have a chance of seeing the complex from the sky.

You will be impressed by the timeless allure of this ancient marvel that is so well preserved and stunning to see! Seeing this enormous temple on the opposite side of the mountain of the valley of the kings takes your breath away. Queen Hatchepsut's creation still looks remarkably stunning after all these years and many of the statues are still standing. The monument stands as an impressive testament to artistry and remains awe-inspiring to this day. Definitely worth seeing.

A fascinating temple with exceptional craftsmanship. However, the experience is somewhat marred by the overwhelming crowds. There are far too many people visiting the temple at the same time, making it very difficult to see the inside and truly enjoy the place. Despite the crowds, the intricate details and historical significance of the temple are undeniably impressive. Consider visiting during off-peak hours for a more immersive and enjoyable experience.

The absolute landmark the anyone who visits Egypt needs to see. Built under a rocky mountain that is similat to the Petra in Jordan. You can feel the greatness by standing in front of the monument. The building is well preserved. Avoid the locals asking you to take you pictures, they always want tipping.

What a great view, the temple built in that mountain wall. A queen really deserves such a magnificent temple. From the main entrance until you reach the temple, they use golf carts. There’s a coffee where you can enjoy, after paying an absurd amount of money, a hot or cold drink.

This is just down the road from the Valley of Kings as therefore it is worth seeing as part of you day sightseeing. From the outside/distance it doesn’t look a lot but when you get up close it is quite a size. There is quite a bit of walking if you want to see it all. As ever some of the main parts are crowded and you need to be patient. The history of the temple and the reason for it being away from the Valley of Kings is something you need to understand to aid to your visit

5 stars for breathtaking art and history, 0 stars for service. When my friend and I were buying student discount tickets, we had argue for the student discount even though we showed proof. Eventually the worker gives us the student tickets but doesn’t give back the change... so I said “I gave you 200 LE” (~18 CAD) when the 2 tickets were 140 LE and he gives me a 20 LE note... I’m like “no the change is 60 LE” and he says well I helped you get the student discount so it’s a tip. Unbelievable.

Stunning scenery without doubt. Just not much else here once you get to the complex. Visit in cooler temperatures as its was 40 centigrade when we're there and way, way too hot. If you miss it in favour of somewhere else you can feel good about it. But I stress, the scenery is stunning.

This place is between Valley of Kings and Valley of Queens, with a separate ticket. The temple is well preserved and structurally magnificent. I am not sure how many statues are original though - some of them seem pretty new to me. It would be a nice 8-min walk from the ticket booth to the temple if it is not too hot.

A sublime expression of ancient Egyptian architectural mastery. This multi terraced temple carved into a mountainside is unlike any that you will see in Egypt and is an absolute must when visiting Luxor. If you visit one place on the West Bank of the Nile, it should be this place. Bar none! Price of admission 140 EGP, as always it is better to visit with a guide, but even without one the temple is incredible. There are the usual Egyptians hanging about willing to take a picture or show you some "secret" room or carving, all for a price, of course. But they are harmless and can hardly take away from the magnificence of the architecture and the surroundings.

(Translated by Google) Hutchepsut Palace is actually a burial complex, as far as is known, to the only pharaoh - a woman. This structure was built by Hutchepsut, who rose during his lifetime, a court architect, who, according to conjectures, is along the way the civil husband of the pharaoh. The building was badly damaged and what you will see is the result of the efforts of Polish restorers who have been rebuilding since 1961. Wikipedia has a description of the structure of this tomb, it had many temples to various gods, at the top of the complex was a portrait of Hutchepsut, which was destroyed after her death. Interestingly, the temple was carved into the rock, into the depths of which the passages went. More information on my channels in FB and VK, channel name: Own road - Alexey Engels.

Monumental mortuary temple of queen hatchsepsut on the west bank of the Nile. Three levels the middle and the top one the most interesting. The location itself means everything. Must visit. The only problem it can get overcrowded. Bus train takes u from entrance to the temple. Then u have to climb stairs to the access the higher levels or walk the ramp. Avoid the hot summer months (may to October due to very high temperature)

Beautiful place. Absolutely must have of sightseeing for every person visiting Egypt. One of the better monument of ancient ages kept in good condition. You can see really how advanced were the ingeeniering skills those times. It looks unbelievable. It is good ti be there early to have more space to take good pictures without crowded people. Very good time to visit is winter time, since the whether is not so heavy, I mean the temperature is about 20 not 30. I do recommend this place.

A fascinating temple, dedicated to the only woman pharaoh, Hatshepsut. The hieroglyphs and carvings on the wall are well-preserved and a lot of the colours can still be seen. The two-storey facade is just one part of the place, so set aside enough time to explore the inner parts, too. A train connects the entrance gate with the temple, but you can also walk the distance, it's around or even less than a kilometer. There's a market around the entrance gate, too, where you can practice your bargaining skills. There's also a toilet at the gate, but none at the temple itself. It's good to carry a bottle of water with you, as well as a hat and sunglasses, as there's no shade along the way between the gate and the temple. Some parts are wheelchair accessible, but not all.

It's a very big temple. On the other side of this Hatshepsut burial hall is the Valley of the Kings. It seems that the two are connected by a passage. There seems to be a way to go by horse (although that's no good anymore), and he told me where to go.

Such an amazing structure! Definitely a must see if in Luxor. I would highly recommend bringing an umbrella to anything you see outdoors as there is little shade! There is a little area at the base to have a sit down and a cold drink.

Awesome place, get there around 6.30am and you'll be alone. The workers were nice. The grounds were clean and it's stunning for sun rise. And you can see hot air balloons. Takes about 20 to 40 minutes. I loved it. Maybe even the best site in Luxor

The grandiose temple complex) It is one of the calling card of Egypt. The best place to visit for tourists who are interested in cult buildings and ancient architecture. It will bring great emotions. Everything here is huge - the temple's main stairway, the rock behind it, the desert... Giant columns, majestic statues, bright colours on the walls and ceiling. A lot of people here despite the scorching sun even on winter. I recommend to enjoy the funeral temple of Hatshepsut between November and April.

We went there with a tour guide so it was easy. He knew everything about the stuff here and about the place and history. It’s a breathtaking building with the colossal statues of Queen Hatshepsut in form of the God Osiris. It’s just amazing how good are the conditions of the statues and painting. You are walking around and feel the historical atmosphere around you. I’ve never seen something unbelievable like this. It’s hot so bring your water with you.

A must visit for your trip to the West Bank. The temple itself has been reconstructed during the pass of time, but you can still see a lot of the original one, especially murals with color. Careful with the guards and workers, they will try to grab your phone for pictures or want to take pictures with you, and then ask for tips, so just avoid them.

This place is not far from The valley of the Kings and Queens. From the entrance you will be transported to the first part of the temple, where the long walk starts. It's all open air so make sure you are protected against the sun. Comfortable sport trainers are recommended. It's a long way up and we did over 18000 steps by the time we got here, because we had already been in Karnak and the Valley.

We went very early so there were no lines. The place from outside is very pretty, the architecture is unbelievable. But from the inside there is mot much special things to see but still i believe you should visit it. There are scammers inside who will push you into taking pictures in unauthorized locations for tips, dont do it, it’s useless and it’s ugly pictures anyway.

Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is a magnificent site that definitely warrants a visit! The temple is beautiful and well-preserved, and the views from the top are stunning. The quote about the temple from an Egyptian native is "The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt. Hatshepsut was one of the most successful pharaohs ever, and her mortuary temple is a reminder of her greatness." I absolutely agree - this is an amazing temple and well worth a visit!

Amazing place to spend the morning visiting the temple. It deserves a visit with a guide to know a bit about its history and past. With the ticket you have the transport from the entrance to the temple (1 minute ride) and the entrance. Go early to avoid the heat in summer. Although It gets really crowded I think during winter time going after 12 it’s better because there’s less people.

  • 5/5 Gerben V. 1 year ago on Google
A large and impressive mortuary temple. It was built by Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs of Egypt. It consists of three huge terraces, connected by large ramps. Each terrace is partly supported by pillars and for the highest part of the temple a big part of the mountain behind it was cut out. Large parts of the temple have been restored but this gives a good impression of how it has looked like in its former glory.

  • 5/5 Kayla B. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful site. Sad that it's degrading as many historical sites are, though fairly well preserved. They offer student discounts, but make sure to have a hardcopy ID, this is for all Egyptian sites. Also, be prepared that you have to walk through souvenir shops to get to the ticket booth, which is annoying and also common. Oh, and if someone offers to take photos of you, they expect compensation.

The tombstones and wall paintings are fascinating but still limited to certain areas to visit and still same as all over Luxor hassling, intruding, touching, disrespect besides harassment from locals and even some government representatives as inside temple and gates police. If the government has more control over those Hasslers the place could've taken the breath, but also the tombstones are missing the bodies and the coffins which located in cairo museum.

(Translated by Google) Queen Hatshepsut (about 1473 - 1458 BC), the queen who received the title of Pharaoh, built a wonderful temple in Deir el-Bahari, on the West Bank in Luxor, facing the Karnak Temple, the main sanctuary of Amun on the east bank, and it was called the Temple of Hatshepsut In the ancient Egyptian "Bridge of Gesrou", meaning the holiest of sanctities, it was designed by Senmut, who bore the title of Chief Butler of Amun. The temple consists of three levels, each of which contains a row of columns at the end, and on the upper level, an open courtyard is located behind a row of columns, preceded by statues of Hatshepsut in the form of Osiris, the god of the dead. The "Bridge of Gesrou" is considered a funerary temple for Queen Hatshepsut, where rituals are held for her after her death when it turns into the state of Osiris, and the temple was not only dedicated to her, as the temple included parts dedicated to her father, King Thutmose the First, and the goddess Hathor, as well as Anubis, Lord of the dead, and a compartment was also allocated Exposed to the sky, dedicated to the sun god "Ra Hor Akhti", and there is a great place dedicated to Amun, and at the end of the upper courtyard, on the main axis of the temple, a pathway was cut in the mountain ending in the Holy of Holies. The walls of the temple were covered with scenes representing the temple rituals, and religious holidays, as well as the transfer of the obelisks from the quarries to the Karnak Temple, and perhaps the most distinctive views were those on the central balcony, which represents Hatshepsut's mission to the country of Punt, which may be located now near Eritrea, and its inhabitants were photographed, And her homes, as well as the surrounding environment, in addition to the strange riches and animals that the Egyptians brought with them from there, and on the other side, it was depicted how Hatshepsut became the legitimate king of the country, not only by confirming the appointment of her father Thutmose I to her as his legitimate heir, but that her father is the idol of Amun Himself.

👍👍 I didn't knew this existing until I got in Luxor. However, if you want to try, the experience is worth the money. I did pay 45$ per person. Probably you can find cheaper. Try to not book with a hotel, cause they will charge much more.
