Visited this church as their towers are visible from a distance and one of the few Catholic churches in Switzerland. The church is beautiful from the outside and inside, and is open to the public with a free entrance. What stood out for us with this church is how beautiful the church ground is as well, with a surrounding cemetery that is quite historical to Lucerne. You can trace some of the prominent names of citizens of Lucerne and see how far the history of the city goes. Quite a tranquil experience to be here and definitely enjoyed our experience here.

Nice and ornamented. Has it's own graveyard.

It's worth taking the time to walk around the Church and pay our respects to the deceased. It's a particular way to bury the dead that isn't seen everywhere. The Church building itself is in mint condition. Worth checking the daily mass times (in German). 🙏

Also known as Hofkirche (Hof Church), it is Lucerne's main church. You can mark its two towers from almost every attraction of the City (except Lion Monument)

Wow, we accidentally ( maybe not?) happened upon a weekday evening Mass and then received an impromptu tour from a parishioner after. The Marion “chapel” stage right is super unique. Check out the kneeling man with bible who is being helped by someone with READING GLASSES! Many other cool things to see and research. Hoping some young folks are inspired to become priests. Definitely worth the stairs to get there

Beautiful building from outside. Nice and with a lot of gold inside. We were lucky to be when the organ was playing (or is it playing 24/7?). A real must if you are in Luzern 👏

Not sure why am I being asked to rate a church but since I am, would love to say all churches are gorgeous and the most peaceful places to meditate and be greatful and have gratitude for what you have.

This is a beautiful church and we were happy to be able to walk around and look at all the alters while we were in Luzern (Lucerne for Americans). This is a good place to stop by if you find yourself in the city.

The church is located very near to the Lucerne train and ferry stations. It is peaceful and the double towers look amazing.

Such a beautiful and peaceful church. I went there to escape the touristy town and pray for a little bit. It’s very easy to find the church and the architecture is beautiful. Totally worth a visit.

A beautiful Catholic Church. As you stroll along the lake, you will see this church on top of a flight of stairs. The interior is magnificent and exceptional beautiful architecture.

This church in the center of Lucerne is quite beautiful with unique spires. There was a Sunday service when we were there, so obviously I couldn't take many photos, but still amazed by the beautiful interior.

This church is underrated. It’s truly beautiful, with an incredible burial garden with family names dating back to the 18th century. A Roman Catholic Church Built in parts between 1633 and 1639, one of the only churches built in the Swiss alps during the war.

Beautiful church with the iconic twin towers making up Lucerne's skyline. I love that this used to be a monastery and believed to be where Lucerne was founded. The architectural style is late renaissance and gothic. Check out where the story of Lucerne began!

The Church of St. Leodegar is a Roman Catholic church. It was built in parts from 1633 to 1639 on the foundation of the Roman basilica, begun in 735, which had burnt in 1633. This church was one of the few built north of the Alps during the Thirty years war and one of the largest art-history-rich churches of the German late renaissance period.

Beautiful Church very close to the banks of Lake Lucerne. The majestic twin gothic towers can be seen from many parts of the city. The church is not as grandiose as some of the other cathedrals in Switzerland but the artwork stands out, whether it's the clock on the outside wall or the figurines and paintings inside. This church is a 7-8 min walk from the train station.
