Lucerne, a compact city in Switzerland known for its preserved medieval architecture, sits amid snowcapped mountains on Lake Lucerne. Its colorful Altstadt (Old Town) is bordered on the north by 870m Museggmauer (Musegg Wall), a 14-century rampart. The covered Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), built in 1333, links the Aldstadt to the Reuss River's right bank.

This station is a very busy station but clean and beautiful. The Luzern train station was easy to get around. Luzern lake is just outside of the station. All the cruise/boat trips for the lake is available just opposite side of the station. There are lots of restaurants and snack shops are available. This station is just a couple of minutes away from the Chapel Bridge. Bust station is just the outside. Station is connected with all the major cities in Switzerland.

The main transportation center for the city of Lucerne is the sizable and contemporary Luzern train station. Due to its central location, it is simple to get there from every section of Lucerne. Along with numerous ticket booths and information offices, the station includes a large selection of stores and eateries. It is also easily accessible from the city's public transportation network, making getting around Lucerne simple. Overall, getting to and from Lucerne by train is a practical and effective option. It is conveniently situated, offers a variety of amenities, and has good access to the city's public transportation network. I was there in the month of October 2022 with my wife. It was a great experience.

It's quite a sizable railway station. Came from Basel which took just over 1 hour, the roundtrip ticket was not cheap which cost me CHF70+. The train station itself is very organized, and with plentiful of shops & restaurants. The main bus/tram hub is just outside the station. Touring the city by foot is very pleasant and easy.

Great place. Lots of shops bars and restaurants. They have a paddle steamer on the lake. Also a wood bridge that it hundreds of years old if you discount that it was rebuilt a few years ago as it burnt down. Apparently, the fire brigade had no boats to go out and try to put it out. You can however see some of the old burnt to a crisp bridge paintings. Most went up in smoke. Well worth a visit and to the Stadkeller for a Swiss folklore evening with food.

Lucerne, Switzerland, is an absolute treasure that should be on every traveler's bucket list. Nestled amid the stunning Swiss Alps and situated on the shores of Lake Lucerne, this picturesque city is a true marvel. I had the pleasure of visiting Lucerne, and I can't help but gush about this captivating destination. First and foremost, Lucerne's natural beauty is awe-inspiring. The panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains reflected in the crystal-clear lake are postcard-perfect. Whether you're strolling along the Chapel Bridge, exploring the charming Old Town, or taking a boat ride on Lake Lucerne, you'll be constantly surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The city's history and culture are equally captivating. The Old Town is a well-preserved medieval gem, with cobbled streets, frescoed buildings, and a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Don't miss the Musegg Wall and its iconic clock tower with its 9 o'clock show – it's a delightful piece of Swiss heritage. Lucerne is also a haven for art and music enthusiasts. The Richard Wagner Museum is a must-visit for opera lovers, and the Rosengart Collection houses an impressive array of Picasso's works. The city comes alive with music festivals and concerts throughout the year, making it a hub for cultural experiences. Foodies will rejoice in Lucerne's culinary offerings. Swiss cheese, chocolate, and fondue are absolute must-tries, and you'll find charming restaurants and cafes tucked away in every corner of the city. The weekly farmers' market is a fantastic place to sample local delicacies and shop for souvenirs. Accessibility is a breeze with an efficient public transport system. Trains, buses, and boats are all well-connected, making it easy to explore nearby attractions such as Mount Pilatus, Mount Rigi, and the Swiss Museum of Transport. In conclusion, Lucerne is a dream destination that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, history, culture, and culinary delights.

The Luzern train station was easy to get around. There are lots of restaurants & little snack shops downstairs. Contrary to other posts, these shops are not open 24-7. This station is 2 minutes from Chapel Bridge & to many bus stops.

Luzern is a very popular and busy station, but well able to support the traveling public. There is buses out front as well as boats on the lake and obviously trains to take it where you wish to go. Down under the station there is Metropolitan lines and also a great venue for food and shopping.

Lucerne Switzerland is about as picturesque as it gets. An incredibly romantic town with lots of natural beauty, shopping, and of course Chocolate Croissants. The lake is so clear you can see to the bottom! Stop of the train for a few hours as you pass through; you won't be sorry.

This train station is very impressive, fancy and clean. It has solid infrastructure and and an intricate design. Really enjoy seeing the various time tables along with clocks and TV screens to make sure your travel destination and previous station are in tune with where you are headed. If we ever visit Luzern again, we know we can count on this train station.

Truely one of the most beautiful and interesting cities I've had a chance to visit. The history, scenery, cuisine cleanliness and overall experience was way above my expectations. We had originally planned on travelling to Bern but then last minute we decided to visit Luzern instead and were so glad we did, the train ride here from Florence gave us stunning views and upon arrival we were floored by just how beautiful and tranquil it was. We hope to visit again to spend more time exploring such a beautiful region.

A much more organized station compared with its counterpart in Zurich. And the best part of it is that when you walk right out of the station you can see pretty much every main tourist spots in the city including the wooden bridge and the lake view.

Very huge and well maintained train station. There are luggage lockers where you can keep your bags if you want to explore hassle free. Then there are numerous food outlets, bakeries, cafe and restaurants in the lower level. The staff in the information centre are really helpful. They can even inform you about the discounted offers and prices you can get for example to explore the places around, like Mount Titlis.

Beautiful, modern station. Signs are uniform which makes navigation a breeze. It has the capacity for a lot of traffic and handles it well. Plenty of amenities (market, restaurants, etc.). Great place to start a trip, end a trip, or simply spend time. (I was an English-speaking tourist visiting the area and had no problems at this station.)

Plenty of shops / eateries, no need to go multiple floors for different tracks - all are on the same ground level. The tourist information office near pl. 1 has a very responsive staff. The only downside is that the toilets are only in the ground-1 floor towards the end. This is a large station, there should be multiple options in case of queues or quick connections.
