Truly the best hostel I've stayed at in all my travels so far. It's clear that this is a passion project of the owner. The views are absolutely stunning. The vibe is great, so this is a hostel where you can just relax all day and hang out. It's also located close to Pilatus and the hosts are incredibly helpful and accommodating. The rooms are super clean, the bathrooms are luxurious. You can see Pilatus and Luzern not just from the living room, but your bedroom too! I would return to Luzern just to chill in this hostel, it's not even more expsnsice than any normal hostel. On top of all this, there's (not included) schnaps and even a jacuzzi. The whole place is super modern and pleasant.

Great hostal, clean, comfortable, people very kind and not expensive (considering that you are in Switzerland). The view of Luzern from there is wonderful. Very recommended if you are a young person traveling alone.

Although I usually am a very critical person I have to admit that this places deserves its 5* ranking. Clean, cozy and with some very nice details. Tbh it looks more like a hotel from a quality standpoint. Also the host is friendly, open and always due for a chat. Prices were more than fair!

Would highly recommend. Location is accessible but away from the main area. View is amazing and place was clean and well kept. Woke up early and took a stroll further up the hill which ended up being an adventure of its own with amazing views. Pro tip: before trekking up the hill for check-in, stop by a grocery store in the main area and pick up snacks / drinks / and breakfast foods / pastries.

I recently stayed here for two nights and it’s actually changed my view on staying in hostels. The host, Ray, is a really cool guy, Jacqueline is great too, the facilities are top and it has a real community feel. I’ll be staying again in the future for longer. Thankyou!

Very caring and friendly staff. Location is a few minutes from the centre (by car). They have a separate room for two. Only 1 power supply socket in the room. The most spaces are hostel. Have all the required facilities. No separate bathroom, yet you have terrace with tables and seats and amazing view. The room is clean. Also a nice option: you can buy a drink and some snack right here. I was positively impressed

Amazing place to stay in Switzerland.The views are incredible and there is a great social aspect as well. The beds are comfortable which is necessary for when you climb Pilatus! You also get a free unlimited bus ticket for your stay. I would recommend this place to anybody.

I had loads of fun when I stayed in this small hostel, the owner was really nice and helpful with everything. And the girl was also really sweat. We played some nice games together even though we didn’t k ew eachother. The view was incredible from the living room and from the dorm and everything was very clean and hygienic. You do have to take the bus to get there, but it was completely worth it 9,5 out of 10

This is basically a house in the suburbs of Lucerne that has been transformed into a hostel. Super cozy and an amazing view of the surrounding landscape. Close to a bus stop, so getting into town or to the train station is very easy.

This place is amazing and ideal for young travelers! Rainer was an incredible host - went above and beyond for all of his guests. I fell on my way to the hostel and he drove me to the hospital and offered to wait and to drive me home, which was incredibly kind of him. Even brought me a juice box for the car ride there! The place was clean with a beautiful view and all of the other guests were super friendly. Very fun atmosphere, 10/10 recommend

Great host, great hostel and great vibe! The host: Rainer is such a great host! He is really accommodating and is willing to help out with pretty much everything you would need. He makes a big effort to give his guests the best stay possible in Luzern. He is also very present in the house so he is not far away if you have questions or just want to have a chat. The place: First of all, the house have amazing views of Luzern and the mountains around 🤩🤩 The house is newly renovated so everything is quite new which is great. The hostel is very clean - both in the rooms and common areas. The kitchen and bathrooms are really good as well. The house has multiple cameras thus security is no problem and you feel comfortable and save. The house have everything you could need. And it have a really homey feeling 🥰🥰 The vibe: The best thing about the house is the people and the vibe! Rainer has made a really good framework for getting the best people in the house. Its especially good if you're travelling alone or 2 people. There is always new people to meet and everyone is so friendly. Absolute pleasure staying here. The host Rainer is super accommodating and treats you like a real person, not just a customer in his business. This is truly one of the best hostels I've ever been to. The view from the balcony is fantastic, the kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you can imagine, the rooms are beautiful and clean and there is a massage chair on which you can mellow out with the city of Luzern in the background. The host is of exceptional kindness, generosity, and politeness, creating a relaxed, laid-back and open atmosphere which allows for wonderful encounters with young people from all around the world. I had an unforgettable, beautiful time here. The house is in a wonderful location above the city. With a fascinating panoramic view of the Swiss Alps. In the house you have everything your heart desires. Every little detail that a guest could wish for has been thought of in the interior design. The host Reiner gave me a warm welcome when I got there, as did the people who were also there. All the people there were very nice and positive. I will certainly come back to this wonderful house, full of warmth.

This is such a great experience! Rainer is a great host. Very trusting and generous. The hostel tends to bring in some really cool people which makes the place extra special. The view is no joke. The location is really close to town yet you don’t feel like you’re in town. He gives you some kind of Swiss pass that magically makes the bus free? I swear it’s magic, I didn’t pay for the bus once and the bus stop is a 2 min walk from the house. He’s also quite connected in Lucerne. Very cool dude and house. I’ll be coming back.

This is the best share hostel ive ever been to. Have everything what I need, easy check in and out. Upgrade version of everything. Have the best view of Luzern. Rainer greeted me at the top of the stairs as I came huffing up the stairs with a smile! He's a friendly guy with a welcoming and approachable presence. He never hesitates to help you when you need it. The views are literally out of this world and I would come here to stay again, maybe at the Pilatus room where I get the room to myself. However the vibes in the house was so fun! I got to meet 3 new friends and the girl staying at my room offered me rhyme for my tea. I would come here again in a heartbeat. I loved the location of this place, it was super easy to get around and you had incredible views. The place was also really clean, people are super respectful to clean up after themselves. I also found it to be really great around noise levels late at night and early in the morning. Definitely recommend!

This was the best hostel experience i’ve ever had. Such rad people, incredible location with views of the entire city and of mount pilasus. We all went sledging together which was so much fun…definitely will remember this experience forever and coming back for sure.

After a rough travel day to try and get into Switzerland, the minute we arrived at Young Backpackers Stay it was all forgotten. THE BEST PLACE IVE EVER STAYED. I have stayed in several hotels / hostels / air bnbs - yet this is by far the most cozy, welcoming, friendly place out there. Its cleaner than any hotel I’ve stayed in. Inexpensive. And the staff is extremely accommodating. It felt like a home away from home. There is SO much to do IN the house that we rather of stayed there than actually out and about. The view is one of the best views Ive ever seen in my life. Every time I turned the corner to see the giant window exposing the swiss alps I thought I was in a dream. There are shnapps, lunch, and beer to buy in the hostel for very cheap. Also games, a hot tub, and laundry. If I could I would have extended another week… PLEASE STAY HERE AND DO NOT THINK TWICE! JUST BOOK. Thank you to everyone who made the stay something out of a story book! I will be back.;)

Easily the best hostel my partner Sam and I have ever stayed in by far. Like, by masssiveeee amounts. The view is breathtaking and never gets old. It’s hard to leave the hostel to explore the town because you could just sit and take in the view the whole day, it is stunning. It looks over Mt Pilatus, which is situated super close by and we highly recommend a trip up on the cable car. The house is immaculate and super clean. All the facilities you could want too (breakfast, alcohol, laundry, spa, sauna) at a very reasonable extra cost. Not to mention a free massage chair, beautiful kitchen, guitar, chess, towels, shower gel, adapters etc etc etc). The hosts are welcoming, warm and accomodating and strike the perfect balance between being super friendly and making sure everything works as it is supposed to. We stayed in the triangle room and it was super comfortable and perfect for a couple or close friends. The bed was even bigger than it seems in the pictures and the bathroom is right across the hall. This place is truly special and all of the other guests were lovely too, we all hung out, united by the amazing views, great vibes of the place, beers and schnapps. You get a free bus ticket for exploring the area and a super detailed guide to the area from the host. You can also just ask them at any time for any tips, advice or help. Flawless. So sad to leave. No matter where it was situated, we’d come back purely for the amazing hostel experience which is so weird to say about a hostel! It felt so homely. Its amazing location in Lucerne is just an enormous cherry on top. We’ll be back!
