After
a
fairly
busy
Saturday,
we
decided
on
a
whim
to
dine
at
Applebee's
for
dinner,
and
were
pleased
that
we
did.
We
arrived
in
the
late
afternoon/early
evening
and
we
were
seated
immediately
in
the
moderately
crowded
restaurant.
Our
server
was
extremely
pleasant,
and
brought
our
drinks
promptly,
and
allowed
us
some
time
to
choose
from
a
varied
menu.
For
appetizers,
we
ordered
Brew
Pub
Pretzels
and
Beer
Cheese
Dip,
and
a
bowl
of
tomato
basil
soup.
The
former
consisted
of
four
soft
and
hot
pretzel
sticks
with
the
dip
and
a
side
of
delicious
honey
mustard
sauce.
There
was
plenty
of
dip
available
even
after
the
pretzels
were
devoured.
The
soup
was
also
delicious
and
highly
recommended.
The
main
entrees
were
pretty
good.
The
4-cheese
Mac
and
Cheese
with
honey
pepper
chicken
strips
was
adequate,
but
somewhat
bland.
I
had
to
really
mix
up
the
pasta,
as
all
the
cheese
sauce
rested
at
the
very
bottom,
and
I
didn't
even
taste
the
pepper
flavor
on
the
strips,
which
had
more
batter
than
chicken.
Once
the
pasta
was
tossed,
cheese
sauce
was
more
pronounced
and
saved
the
meal
otherwise.
The
Oriental
Grilled
Chicken
salad
was
decent,
but
unlike
the
pasta,
was
a
tad
salty.
Strawberries
were
added,
which
fortunately
offset
the
saltines,
and
again,
turned
out
to
be
adequate.
If
there
were
a
3½
star
rating,
I
would
have
chosen
that.
Overall,
the
meal
was
decent,
but
some
improvements
could
be
made.
We
didn't
regret
our
dining
choice,
but
with
a
lot
of
competing
restaurants
in
the
immediate
area,
we
probably
won't
visit
again
for
a
while.
