Service was great ; chicken & pork tender & tasty. However macaroni & cheese came & looked like it was from the day before heated over. Mashed potatoes with gravy were substituted. Brownie & bourbon bread pudding were tasty.

The Beef Ribs and Wings are a must! These were the best Beef Ribs I have ever had in my life. They have alot of meat, tender, and it melts in your mouth! I seen on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, that Guy Fieri stopped at the other Mommas location for one of his episodes and he didn’t lie about how delicious everything was. Their Spicy Fried Pickles were great too. They are made in house and is a perfect appetizer to get. Lastly, I’m not a bourbon guy, but the bourbon slushy was good! They also have other slushies if you strictly don’t want bourbon! This place is overall a must!

It was great, I loved the food. We got there at 11 and by 11:20 the restaurant was full! It shows you how good the food is. Are service was great shout out to Knox. The pickles were really good. I also just loved the Pulled Pork. Can’t comment how good it was just great. So some of the best barbecue this side of Memphis. Even though it is Kansas, barbecue it’s very good. The only thing it was missing was a cheese and sausage plate!! But I’m a serious note if you want wings or barbecue or pickles this is some of the best in the area.

One of the best BBQ places in Louisville and very much a strong rival to Mark's Feed Store. Seat yourself and I was greeted promptly. The service was fast and I was impressed with the teamwork of the 2 servers. I had the pulled pork sandwich (dry rub) I combined it with both BBQ sauces. It was delicious. The clow slaw was so so good and a great addition to add on top of the sandwich. It is smaller restraunt that you will find pretty full and once you go you will know why! I must mention the Bar! It has a great selection of bourbon and whiskey with it all beautifully on displayed. 3 tvs and the atmosphere and music is a great reflection of the resturant. You will hear johnny cash, chris stapleton, and bob seger. In all honesity, I would have to give this the top slot so far for BBQ recommendations. I recommend checking them out.

Multiple people recommended Momma's as we traveled to Kentucky. We ordered 1/2 beef ($24) and pork ribs ($16) each. The beef ribs are huge and tender but not much flavor. The pork ribs were good after being doctored up with their sweet sauce. Fresh cut French fries with a sweetish fry seasoning. Their "best wings" are normal size smoked wings. We got 2 just to try them out since they are $1.50 each. Our waitress was cool. Overall I'm not disappointed with the meal.

Great BBQ restaurant, top notch service with excellent BBQ. I had the Grilled Cheese Brisket sandwich with mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. It all was delicious with nice portion sizes, I barely finished it all. If you are in the area it definitely worth trying out.

Small dine in area easy to be seated and fast service. Food is amazing. We tried pork, meatloaf, mac-n'cheese, turkey slider, baked beans, and wings. It was AMAZING! Best pork and wings we have had while traveling in a long time. We are from PA and this was a great visit and will try to fit in another visit here before we go home! The coleslaw was not our favorite, nor was the meatloaf. Meatloaf is more pate texture(very minced). The wings are well cooked and well seasoned! The waitress was nice, but could have been happier and more friendly to be honest, however she was not rude and did a good job of ensuring the ordered food was correct, with a 7 person table! So we were over all satisfied, just could have been better. Obviously a good business model and good recipes. As a restaurant owner myself id say over all, Keep it up guys!

Very nice, clean, and laid back BBQ place. Quick and friendly service. Our order: 1/2 Rack Beef Ribs. 10 Wings. Brisket Slider. Pulled Pork Slider. The brisket slider has very lean and tender brisket. Very enjoyable. The pulled pork was falling apart, perfectly cooked. Both paired great with their house regular and spicy bbq sauces. The spicy bbq sauce I would rate 4/10 in terms of heat. The beef ribs were seasoned perfectly, they were tender and had a good balance of meat and fat. We really enjoyed them. For us the wings stole the show. Naked wings seasoned in a well balanced combination of spice, cooked perfectly crispy. I strongly recommend this restaurant for some good bbq. We have yet to try the pork ribs and pulled chicken (or the desserts). We plan on coming back. Review on those to come!

Worst experience. I ordered the meatloaf mashed potatoes and green beans and it was absolutely horrible. I took one bite and could not finish the rest. The meatloaf looked like spam meat and you could tell that is was cold prior, sliced and microwaved and then drizzled in bbq sauce. I sent back the meatloaf and ordered the brisket sandwich and my bun was cold and the brisket was super dry. Also my green beans were very sweet and flavorless. I won’t be back. Piece of advice, save your coins and go to City Barbecue across the street!!!

excellent visit. I tried the wings as that was what was featured on Triple D. I'm not a huge wing guy but these were very tasty...didn't even need the sauces on the table (those were very good as well). Baked beans were top notch also.

This place boasts that they have the best wings ever and honestly, I have to say I agree. I usually don’t like dry rub wings, but Momma’s makes me love them. They are always delicious and I feel like you can’t ask for better wings than what they provide. Plus the price is out of this world good. $1.40 per wing or 10 big wings for $14? You’ve gotta be kidding me?! This place is the best of the best and they know it. I usually get four wings plus two sides because their sides rule as well and I just can’t skip them. The Mac n cheese is creamy and super cheesy. The mashed potatoes are supremely awesome as well. I’ve had almost all of the sides here and I haven’t ever been disappointed. They always give you heaping servings of them too. The pork sliders were also very tender and flavorful. The original BBQ sauce paired wonderfully. Our waitress was sweet and very attentive the whole time, as per usual at Momma’s! It’s also usually very busy (for obvious reasons) so make sure you try to walk in and snag a spot on an off time if you can! If you do go during regular lunch hours or dinner hours, they do turn over tables pretty efficiently so there isn’t usually too much of a problem waiting for a table. It is seat yourself though so keep that in mind! PS Momma’s provides the best BBQ and the best prices in Louisville by far. Go here!

Love to eat local when we travel and this was certainly one of our best discoveries! Googled BBQ in Louisville and this was a winner. Service was good. Atmosphere was quaint and friendly. Food was outstanding! We had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and the Sausage sandwich. Both came with two sides. We chose chili cheese fries, cheesey corn and regular fries. All so good. But the doughnut caramel bourbon bread pudding was worth the visit all by itself. Best bread pudding I have ever eaten! They have two locations. We went to the second but was told the original is a fun local hangout. Highly recommend. We will go back for sure!

We came in after lunch crowd..bad idea. The server was friendly, and the food came out fast. The taste of the food was delicious, but the temperature was off. The ribs, baked beans, and corn bread were all at room temperature. The chicken wings were delicious, and the fries were cooked to order. We were there less than 10 mins. and packed up our food and left. This restaurant was highly recommended. We expected our experience to be so much better than what it was. We were very disappointed.

Top notch food, drink and service. Staff were extremely kind. Food was served quickly. Hands down the best bbq I have had in Louisville yet. Menu may look small, but it is just as long as it needs to be. No frills, just good, solid quality food and service.

It was okay. I got a brisket sandwich, and the brisket was so dry. I added sauce but it did not help that poor brisket. As a brisket lover (and especially for that price) I was sad. Bourbon slushy was good, waitstaff was decent. My sides were mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese, they were good. The cornbread was also very dry. It was okay. I was hungry and got fed. Probably wouldn't go back.

The wings were phenomenal. Probably the best I've had. We loved the nachos, sliders, and beans too. The pickles are sweet pickles, if you are into that. The only thing that fell flat was the mac n cheese, it wasn't bad, just everything else was sooo much better. We will definitely be back!

Very tasty food. The pork ribs were tender chicken wings were different as I never have had them in a dry rub. The mac and cheese was just like home, and the bbq sauce was slamming! The menu is light but the food is pretty good. And don't forget the sweet tea!

Legit smoked bbq & meats. The beef ribs are smokey and tender and are Flintstone size! Cornbread is moist and delicious. Wasn't a fan of the mac & cheese but that's not why people come. Service is fast and friendly.

Great authentic BBQ!! Brisket, Ribs, and WINGS were amazing! Didn’t even need any sauce! Our waitress was super helpful! She also gave us “sik places” to see around Louisville as well! If you’re In town, this place is a must!

Service was very good and pleasant. The meats we had were good, even though they were on sandwiches. The sides needed work. Nothing special about them at all, except the potato salad, which was very good. Here's why only three stars: they didn't have any burnt ends, no ribs, and no platters with meat on them. For example, there was no sample platter with a few different meats. There was no meat platter with a choice of meats and sides. In short, they barely served barbecue. So if your a barbecue loving carnivore like me, you may wish to go somewhere else. If you like a decent meal (sandwich or wings) for lunch without too much meat, this place is good and recommended.

The house made ranch was amazing. I ordered food an hour after they opened and I had my food in less than 10 minutes popping hot I had to wait a moment to enjoy. Very reasonably priced and friendly workers. I would highly recommend over other wing or bbq restaurants. I also recommend reading the back of the menu for their pledge to use environmental friendly products.

Best wings I’ve ever had hands down. I ordered 20 and could’ve eaten 10 more! They were so juicy and flavorful and the dry rub crust was the perfect combo of sweet salty and savory. To top it off the service was amazing! Chris was behind the bar and we hit it off right away. He was very friendly and professional - I had a great time eating alone at the bar because of him and his good company. I will definitely be returning - Going to try out the dry rub at home ASAP!!!

I must drive by Momma's a couple times a week, yet somehow never thought to stop in. Then one Friday evening we were looking for somewhere new to go for dinner and *SNAP* Momma's! First of all, I can't believe we've lived in J-Town for over six years and hadn't been to Momma's yet. I kinda want to slap myself silly over that. Located, rather unassumingly, in a store front on Hurstbourne, it'd be easy to not notice this absolute gem of a local BBQ place. Decorated with hammered copper, this location has a very laid back vibe and a well-stocked bar for your libation activites. Our visit was on a Friday evening and the place was pretty busy, but not so busy that we weren't seated immediately. Our server met us immediately and we told her that it was our first visit. The menu isn't enormous, but it doesn't have to be. Momma's knows what they do best, and that's BBQ. Our server gave us a couple suggestions, one of them being the the ½ chicken...and I chose VERY wisely. It's prepared like their wings...and it was ABSOFRICKINGLUTELY delicious. I chose the Mac & Cheese and Slaw sides, and both were excellent. Our food service time was amazingly quick, given it was a Friday dinner rush. The staff was hustling all over the place to make sure things were kept up, clean, and that customers were happy. Momma's also does charity, and they do it WELL. They have what the call the 2% for Louisville Program, where they donate 2% of all sales to local charities. There is 100% of no reason to not love Momma's. You must visit. It is a moral obligation.

This place has some really good food, and the portions were a bit larger than I anticipated. Our server was friendly and gave us the run down on the menu. We ordered a few items to share between the two of us and were stuffed by the end of the meal. Their beef ribs are a must get! (They stated it's the 2nd best in America). We only got the 1/2 rack, and it came with 2 giant pieces that could easily have fed 4 people. The smoked wings were also a must get item. We also ordered the meatloaf just because I wanted a third item (as they were out of brisket and sausage). Overall, everything that we ordered was great!

The servers and staff were extremely friendly. They were out of a few things including the meatloaf and burnt ends. Overall the food was just okay. The fried pickles are a little on the sweet side and the group I was with all prefer dill. The server recommended the cheesy corn. Two of us ordered it but it pretty much tasted like corn with melted Velveeta or Kraft singles. None of us cared for it and wouldn't order it again. We did enjoy the pulled pork and chicken wings. The pulled pork was dry but the BBQ sauce saved it. The cornbread and french fries were also very good.

Found Mamma’s on a quick weekend trip in ‘22. It’s was so good! Food, drinks, service were all awesome. Came back again in ‘23. We were a little nervous thinking it’s never as good as the first time…. The second time was just as delicious as the first visit. Food, drinks, service were awesome again. Definitely coming back again!

There aren’t enough amazing things I can say about this place. It was my first time in Louisville, and I saw an ad for them in the airport and knew right away I had to go and check them out. Everything we ordered came out right away and exceeded our expectations. I asked if their wings were smoked or fried, when the waitress said “they’re both”..I knew we were in good hands!! Service was good, food was good, everything is reasonably priced and I can’t wait to go back for more. I absolutely LOVE Mommas!
