We were quite surprised by how unsuited for cars the roads were as soon as we entered the park (not that it's a bad thing, just surprising). We drove some kilometers into the park anyway, parked the car and proceeded by foot. The park itself is great for hiking and the nature in there is nice, clean and untouched - I'm sure in part due to its less approachable nature :) The park is well worth a visit, and walks can be done by people of all ages - we even brought 3 small kids and a stroller..

Nice park in Malaga, I have only tried the yellow trail, I must say it is more of a dirt road than an actual trail into the woods. Nonetheless less there are some very nice views once you reach the top! To access the entrance via public transportation you'll need to take the bus 2 all the way to the last stop. Turn left and follow, at some point you'll see the highway, walk along it (it is a separate road obviously), after 10min or so, you should have the option to go under the highway if you turn left, don't, instead turn right, there should be a sign that reads "Sendero". Walk up the tiny village, and at the top you'll find the entrance of the park.

Looking for a day away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and city. Montes de Malaga is wonderful retreat to nature. Lose yourself on the numerous pathways and cycle routes. Enjoy panoramic views from quaint, rustic cafes and restaurants along the main road. A perfect place for nature lovers.

A must go for anyone liking nature. Maybe Malaga is best known for its beaches but Malaga mountains are awesome. So many tracks to explore and mountain restaurants to eat in.
