Schaubühne is a really wonderful theater. I find it exclusive - but (very importantly) it's not aristocratic. For instance: there are lockers, so you don't have stand in line for the coat check. Awesome! Be sure to buy your tickets early, since the shows get sold out pretty quick. And before the show take 15 minutes to enjoy the architecture of this place. The building is really special: Literally down to earth / ground floor, big windows, and circular shape. Also, the cafe is very great, but typically packed.

This is a very nice theater. The actual theater hall was very modern and comfortable. The actors were great! I enjoyed the modern backdrops, the use of technology (video and media) to bring the scenes to life. Some of the shows have Übertitels (top captions) in English and German. I believe there are some that show übertitels in other languages too (check before purchasing). The process of finding your seat was very quick and easy. The theater bar has a good selection of beverages (alcoholic and none alcoholic beverages) and snacks. It was an enjoyable experiences.

Terrible experience. Was excited to see a play there, they ended up having technical issues and we were told very clearly they we could get a refund on our tickets by contacting the box office. This was 5 months ago, and I have emailed and called (and faxed) numerous times to no avail. Truly disgusting customer service.

Immer wenn ich in Berlin bin, möchte ich Kultur erleben. Am 22. Oktober 2023 habe ich in der Schaubühne eine Aufführung von "Professor Bernhardi" erleben dürfen. Die Eintrittskarte habe ich vor der Reise unkompliziert im Internet bestellt. Mein Hotel war nur wenige hundert Meter vom Theater entfernt, ich konnte dorthin laufen. Vor Ort saß ich erst einmal im hauseigenen Café und habe einen guten Orangensaft getrunken. Ich konnte beobachten, dass auch die anderen Getränke und Snacks wie belegte Brötchen und Suppe sehr beliebt sind. Im Untergeschoss befinden sich die Toiletten und Spinde, in denen man für 1 oder 2 Euro seine Garderobe unterbringen kann. Das Geld bekommt man bei der Abholung zurück. Die beiden netten Damen, mit denen ich im Café gesessen hatte, haben mir erklärt, dass die aktuelle Vorstellung 3 Stunden ohne Pause dauern würde. Also bin ich noch zur Toilette gegangen. An diesem Abend war das Theater komplett ausverkauft. Und es hat sich mehr als gelohnt! So oft gehe ich nicht ins Theater, aber ich habe selten ein derart engagiertes Team auf der Bühne erlebt! Kulisse, Regie und die individuellen Leistungen der verschiedenen Schauspieler und Schauspielerinnen waren beeindruckend! Trotz ernstem Hintergrund gelang es dem Ensemble heitere Momente einzubauen. Auch die gelegentlichen Abweichungen vom Text haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Alles in allem durfte ich einen schönen Abend erleben, wobei ich die schauspielerischen Leistungen noch einmal ausdrücklich als hervorragend erwähnen möchte. Es war fantastisch!

Was für ein wunderschöner Ort in Berlin! Mega Ensemble. Tolle Location.

"Professor Bernhardi" war lang und wenig innovativ. Fast alle Schauspieler sind unter ihren Erwartungen geblieben. Ein zu großes Ensemble und wenig Überraschungen. Klebt nicht so am Original!

One of the theaters in Germany that you must visit.

We had a great experience, definitely recommend for fans of modern theatre. Be aware that there is no coat check, but lockers that require 2€ coins. There's a nice cafe and you can even get souvenirs after the show. Check the website to see whether a play will have surtitles - some do, some don't.

A really nice theatre stage! Was here on 6th January for "Die Ehe der Maria Braun", the theatre was really nice with role and stage design but I would like to say this theatre house is also a nice place besides its performances. They have reasonable gradients in seating so that you won't be blocked by the tall guy in front of you. I don't know anything about architecture, however, I found the design is somehow mordern compared to Deutsches Theatre and Berliner Ensemble and it is quite nice.

Hat den 70er Jahrecharme, ist im Erlebnis ein Genuss. Freundlich und liebevolles Personal und die Theaterkunst ist sehenswert. Sehr zu empfehlen...für alle die nicht die Mega event sondern das feine Theatererlebnis in Berlin suchen...

Tolles Theater. Ich war begeistert von Beyond caring. Tolles Stück ohne die oft übliche Moralkeule. Die Inszenierung war sensationell und die Schauspielleistung wirklich beeindruckend. Ich habe selten so gutes und ansprechendes Theater gesehen. Respekt.

Ein tolles Theatererlebnis. Man merkt dem Schaubühnenesemble die große Erfahrung an, auf Top Niveau zu Schauspielern! Ein Tolles, mitreissendes Erlebnis! Till gelöst ist auch die Garderobensituation, man kann sich einfach einen Spind nehmen gegen 1 € Pfand.
