This was all categories the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Please only visit this place to watch the scenery. Never expect quality food or any type of service. Do NOT recommend this place.

Very friendly and gentle staff, delicious cupcakes and a great atmosphere. Superb place to play a round of chess in the bar after hiking around the park and nearby lake.

Did not visit inside. Great free parking lot where it's allowed to camp for up to 2 days. Lovely hike in the park next to the castle. There's also a small harbour nearby which is worth the visit. Toilets at the parking lot. It's possible to visit stockholm from this location, take into account a 30min walk to the train station and a 20min train trip (affordable in sweden at 3,9 eur)

Rooms are ok, not great given the status of the place. A cleaner that spoke no English or Swedish insisted on "cleaning" the room 10 min after our check-in although the room was clearly already prepared for check-in.. Bar staff proceeded to SHAKE an Aperol sprits before serving, clearly ruining the drink. Still charging full price.. Service of food and drink over-all does not nearly live up to the standard one should anticipate.. Also (unconfirmed); - If you wish to get married here you are forced to have a Christian ceremony in their chapel, no option to have a civil service elsewhere on the premises is offered.... Sad, as it is one of Swedens most beautiful castles. All in all, I'd stay away, unfortunately.

Stayed there for our official off-site meeting. Luxurious, beautiful, calm and peaceful stay at this heritage hotel❤️ surrounded by lush green fields, forests and lake Malaren. We enjoyed the gardens, outdoor seating and forest treks the most!

What a great place for the last night of this trip to Scandinavia: it’s only 12 minutes away from Arlanda Airport, but feels far into the Swedish countryside and a few hundred years back in time. I didn’t know when I booked this stay that this is the only royal castle that the public can stay in The staff is welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely, overlooking the courtyard. The bed was really comfortable—but the duvet was too warm for the summer weather. Dinner and the wine pairings chosen by the wine steward were excellent. We were able to arrange early checkin for a little extra and went for a nice birding walk through the grounds, along Lake Malaren, and back around the castle. In the morning we enjoyed the great traditional complementary breakfast, arranged an Uber, and had an easy ride to Arlanda. Happy I found this lovely place.

Went just to visit, did not stay. It's located and a quite place away from crowd. Nothing else in the surrounding area. No cafe or equivalent.

Wonderful place and environment, and great breakfast! We had booked a superior room in the wing. The room was nicely furnished and really clean with nice view, however, smallish. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices, and they all were tasty. The castle area was wonderful for walking around. We were visiting there at the beginning of April, so trees were still bare and nothing was yet growing in gardens, but I can only imaging how wonderful the area is during summer time.

Beautiful grounds, nice hot coffee and fika on offer. Best of all the skating on the water in winter.

Hidden jewel close to Arlanda airport. Nice park and a lot of history associated with the castle. Free parking and cafe available. Will be back!

+ Beautiful building + Nice green area. Parks and swimming place nearby. + Nice view + Comfortable pillows + Restaurant with classic interior + Breakfast. Good variety. There were also food items that is not usually in hotel breakfasts (e.g. avocado, bresola) + Big mirror in the bathroom. 3-4 people could probably do make up on the same time. - 3 moths in the room even though we never opened the window - The toilet (inside) wasn't fully clean - The dinner was disappointing compared to the price. The flavours didn't feel well composed. It would also be nice with some winelist, only one wine to choose per dish. The wines that was offered didn't have much flavour. - Much noise from the hallway. We could also hear the water when our neighbour showered. - No airconditioning. It was not too warm, but the air felt a bit humid.
