    Complete scam from start to finish! Extra charges coming out of nowhere. Extremely little information given by staff. Weren't even given the car we had booked and paid for online. Unhelpful, rude staff at drop-off location. Would have been better spending all day on public transport in the end.

    UPD: > the case reported to SIxt Customer Support ONE MONTH ago. > No reply yet. My experience in a nutshell: Absolutely clear fraud that seems like intentional scamming people who are in a hurry: > ”We don’t have the car that you have paid for, so you can either pay 60€/day for the car that we do have, or you can wait for 2-5 hours until your booked car is available.” > “No, we cannot cancel your booking and return your funds that you had payed for the service that we have failed to provide, because it is impossible to cancel prepaid bookings.” To elaborate: They called me on my way to their office, 20 minutes after I have completed my reservation). The booking was for 1 day, booked from the Sixt website that suggested availability of the car. >> The Sixt “client-oriented” solution: - to insist on me paying additional 60€/day for a car of a higher class than I have ordered, or else to make me wait for up to 4 hours, until the car, which I have booked, is available; - while claiming they don’t have cars of lower class (appeared to be a lie). >> When I requested to speak to the branch manager, he didn’t show up after 40 minutes of me waiting. >> Then the clerk realizes that I am not accepting their fraudulent conditions — and miraculously, a car of lower class appears right at the parking under the office. Did they even call the manager? I highly doubt it. Perfectly “Client-oriented solution” that was worth 2 wasted hours of a 1-day trip, not counting the nerves and energy it took to deal with such a disgusting attitude. Sixt is a scam, and they themselves seem to know it well. One should avoid using Sixt.

    I booked a car online for 12 days in Frankfurt and received a confirmation with the expected rental price. When I came to pick up the car, the guy on the reception asked if I know that I have just basic insurance. I have almost 10 years of experience and haven’t had any incidents, so it was a deliberate decision to take basic insurance and save ⅓ of the total price. I confirmed that I know and agree. Then he charged from my credit card the sum which was around expected price from the confirmation, I took the car and went on the trip. After two weeks, when I had already dropped off the car, I received an email with an invoice for the sum which was on ½ bigger than I already paid. It contained two insurance options which I didn’t order: a loss damage protection and a glass and tire protection. The extra cost was automatically charged from my credit card. I checked the paper agreement from the pick-up office and found this extra services, so it was my mistake that I trusted Sixt and didn’t check the agreement before signing, but the way how they charged the expected price and two witnesses, who heard our conversation about basic insurance, make me think that it was a kind of scam.

    If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. The absolute lowest of the low on customer service, with the Sixt colleague being rude and COMPLETELY unapologetic. On April 30th, we had a truck rental for 48 hours. My partner arrived at the Sixt branch to pick up the vehicle but an IT error meant that our payment had not gone through. After he proposed MULTIPLE solutions which were all met with sarcasm and eye rolling (pay with his card - didn't go through/pay with cash - not possible/make a bank transfer-not possible), I was forced to ALSO come to the Sixt branch to pay with a different card. This fiasco made us lose two hours of precious time during which we were supposed to MOVE OUR ENTIRE HOUSE. These two lost hours were never refunded. No apology was made by the staff. In fact their attitude was rude, 'it's not my problem' type. Now today, we ONCE AGAIN tried to use the Sixt service to rent a truck for 4 hours. Three hours before our start time, we were called and told that 'there are no trucks available'. Three hours before, really? After we both take time off of work and make all necessary arrangements? Thanks for another disgraceful encounter with your subpar customer service, Sixt. I HIGHLY discourage anyone to come to this company. Lateness, IT failures, no apology, no commercial conduct, and snide remarks from the personnel are all that you can expect here.

    We were charged with extra expenses (extra coverage) we didn't ask for and specially confirmed that it should not be included. From what we hear, that scamming is a common practice here. If you are renting with Sixt, double check everything you sign. Make a video recording when taking to a clerk.

    ATENTION! ZERO Star! It's possible that your booking it's useless, even if it's ALL PAID! I just paid them 300Euro for nothing!! By arrival office was closed at 16:00 (on the door it's "until 21:00" written) - and pick-up scheduled for 16:00 !! Be very aware! I don't recommend at all! I can demonstrate it!!! They are saying i was not arrived on time, but by 15:55 was nobody at desk!!! (i'm really thinking about to go further with this case - i can't accept that in 2022 this is possible to happen)

    I am Sixt’s regular customer. This time It was a Nightmare. I reached at sixt to pick up my pre booked VW Passat, and was informed it was given to someone else. They offered me Audi A6 telling me it was a Quattro and asked me to pay extra 40 Euros per day. I was leaving in 2 hours and I needed the car so I had no other choice but to accept it. The first shock was that the car given to me at 40 euros extra a day was extremely dirty, I had to take it to the car wash to be able to see through the side mirrors and wind shield properly. Here come a the second surprise, when we reached our winter sports location in France we came to know that it was not a Quattro, it was slipping. Imagine a car with family and kids and the surprises coming along the way for which you are paying extra 40 euros per day. I am very disappointed. I contacted them during my Holidays and They wanted to reimburse the car wash money expecting that I would be making photos of the car just before leaving for my journey to prove that it was extremely dirty. Which of course I did not have. I was also told that their French branch will contact me to provide me with another car at my holiday location in France but no one contacted me. I paid 1400 plus euros to go through this stress and service. Sheer disappointment and wastage of Money, time and Energy and unnecessary stress. I was expecting the extra money charged to me back at least but nothing as yet. Though my time effort and energy and the stress caused has no reimbursement. Utterly disappointed.

    I went to 3 Sixt station in a day just to get refused by each one of them. When i book online and per phone is all good, and when i arrive suddenly they dont have the car but if i pay 100€ extra per day i can get a luxus car. Just a scam they are using in summer to get the people and once youre there, and if youre in rush, you are forced to get the car. I wont go down this way. How is possible that per phone the agent can see that there is availability for the car i want to rent but when i arrive there suddenly not? Either they are doing a scam, or as i have problems in the past, they dont like to rent cars to citizen from eastern europe.

    There are not so many available cars so you have to reserve a car. Parking is 5min to walk. If you have large luggage, be caution. You need to pay premium location fee.

    The fee of “Protection Package Special” is over 60% of the Rental days fee. This price is unreasonably high! However, what I find most ridiculous is the calculation of the “Premium Location Fee”. This fee is 24% of rental fee and should be paid because of using a busy rental location. But when I accepted the “Protection Package Special”, the 24% charge also applied to the “Protection Package Special” fee !!!

    Worst experience of my life renting a car!!! They rejected our driving licenses because allegedly their policies required that we presented an international drivers license as ours were in Spanish. Those policies were never give at the time of rental and I always read everything with car rentals. I believe they were just plain racist! They did not rent us and we went to the next available company and we got a better car! Never again Sixt!

    The staff was very supportive and helpful. I had made a booking one month in advance hoping to get a good car of my choice, but surprisingly, they gave me an even better one!! Don't want to mention the brand and give unnecessary bias. Only downside was that I had some difficulty finding the place in this amazingly crowded train station, since they mentioned opposite McD's but it was near the main entrance itself. Earlier poor reviews was due to less staff and lesser available cars, however, they have made amends. I'm definitely a HAPPY customer!! :-)

    Good experience overall. We had an unwanted child seat in our car that had been installed incorrectly and took 30 minutes or so for the staff and us to remove. But the staff were very helpful. Drop off was smooth and trouble free. Overall I would be happy to recommend Sixt.

    Good service from 2 different Staff members here. Spoke excellent English and very helpful (despite being German). Caution though - the elevator to the parking garage is absolutely disgusting and reeks of urine. Bring your gas mask!

    Terrible rude member of staff declined to rent a car because I did not have a passport on me and only a driving license and tried to give me life lessons as well. I went to another Sixt branch and rented a car with just a driving license with no problem!

    Used for trip to nurburgring and cologne. Staff was friendly and offered additional range(500km to unlimited when he heard my route) for free. My vehicle was audi q2 35 tdi Quattro which has driven only 1000km! It was new and in good condition. When returning, there was a staff and gave him the key(if there was no staff, should go to the branch). I just returned the car yesterday night so the deposit didn't came back yet. So far, it was quite good. ________________________________________________ Adittion ; After 3 days from car return, fully got back the deposit.

    I read a lot of bad reviews about this place so I was a bit worried about my experience but everything went smoothly. First of all the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The car of my choice was not available, they let me know 2 days prior, so I chose a new car among several alternatives. When I went to pick up the car, they gave me an even better model and they extended the rental hours. The deposit was released in one working day, pretty quick. Overall my experience is quite positive. Special thanks to Christoph :)

    I have rented my car from 24.7.-28.7., again i couldn't have the vehicle which i ordered, i have been offered another vehicles, which are from my opinion not the same class.
