Hoshang Shah's tomb is situated in the middle of the courtyard of the majestic mausoleum, surrounded by square-shaped walls. One can enter the mausoleum from the entrance gate, (which is built on a square plan with a marble dome) in the middle of the northern wall. The tomb of Hoshang shah is a grand construction, having a square plan and a dome. It is built on a basement of remarkable width and height. The entire building including the dome is covered in marble, providing majestic atmosphere. It is interesting to note that the main entrance and stairs are situated in the south side, the other side of the entrance to the courtyard. In the four corners of the domed roof, there are constructions with battlements and small domes. They are above the basements, which are built along with a dome. There are plant decorations extending from the edge of the roof and the eaves. They are coloured in red and black, accenting the marble building. Hindu patterns can be observed in the decorations. Considering these and other patterns inside the tomb chamber, we can assume there was involvement of Hindu workmen from the neighbouring towns.

Hoshang Shah ( 1406 - 1435) was officially the first Sultan of Malwa . And his beautiful white maqbara is claimed to be the first marble tomb to be built in India . Entrance is through the Jami Masjid , another marvelous monument , with contrasting black domes . The fine monuments are maintained very well . The ambience gets very evocative in light monsoon rain .

Hosang Shah's tomb is a part of the Village group of monuments in Mandu. The village group consists of Jama Masjid, Hosang Shah's tomb and Asarafi Mahal and has a common ticket. It's very well maintained by ASI. Best time to visit it is during monsoons. It's claimed that this monument was the inspiration behind Taj Mahal. No one is buried here. It's a beautiful monument and a photographer's delight. Inside the sound echoes.

This place has beutiful architecture 😍, in 1440 bc this is built in memory of hoshangshah , a beautiful place and the tomb architecture is just like tajmahal situated all in the middle of the garden 🏡 , covered by highted walls , you can see 🙈 beutiful engineering of our ancient India here , also in back there is pool(snanagar) , this place is for architecture lovers i say , ticket 🎫 charges is 25rs here , and if you are in group you can give some "rishwat" to gatekeeper or gaurd and visit it in low cost 😅

The tomb was completed by Muhmud Khilji in 1440AD. Lies in the centre of a quadrangle and is roofed by a large dome with many multiple small domes. It is considered as the reference masterpiece for construction of Taj Mahal. It is situated at the very entrance of Mandu city.

Marble mausoleum constructed in about 1440 CE. Initiated by Horsham Shah and finished by Mahmud Khilji. Said to be a precursor of Taj Mahal as team of architects studied the making of large dome in the centre and cupolas around it. Well maintained. Entry by ticket. Roadside parking.

Considered as first White Marble Monument of Bharat, Hoshang Shah's Tomb is a nice place for tourists as well as history lovers. The site is well maintained by ASI & one has to purchase entry tickets for Jami Mosque & Tomb collectively. One can be enthralled by the echo of the sound inside the the Tomb. Outskirts provides a breathtaking view of Jami Masjid.

Nice place. Quite ambience. Well maintained but nothing much to visit. The ride to the tomb was rather more pleasing. Overall a good place to visit for a 1 day tour.

Another marvelous architecture.. In mandav..kaha jata hai ki Tajmahal ka inspiration yahi se aaya hai... So basically hoshang Shah’s dad and Tajmahal son.. Whole mandav is well maintained neat and clean so many ponds around mandav.. This place is basically beside jami mashjid.. YOU can go from inside jami mashijd.. There is the way when you enter in Jami mashjid right side the way where written on the board hoshanga shah makbara.
