Visited this gorgeous place in the month of September. It is a bit of 300 metres climb diagonally from the vehicle parking place. Absolutely gorgeous views all around the site and a must visit site for those visting Mandu. However, on a side note, there are no suitable sanitation facilities in the shop/stall/restaurant area immediately around the site so visitor should mind that.

I read about this place in the book "Mandur Roopmati" by Buddhadeb Guha and hence I had to see this. It is a nice little palace on a hill top. You have to hike a little up from the front gate. But be sure to buy tickets from below which is far down from the palace. You can see a pretty view of the valley from here.

The Pavilion is part of Mandu Fort Complex. It has beautiful location from where panaromic view are stunning especially in and after monsoon. Lush green hills and valley provide excellent views. It is located on hilltop and has beautiful well styled building. The building has both Hindu and Islamic architectural elements. Made for Queen Roopmati, it also served as watch tower. She visited the place almost daily riding her horse. She could view the palace of Baz Bahadur and Narmada river from here. Very popular spot for tourists.

Roopmati Pavilion. 27 December 2021. Located on top of a hill. It is approached by a motorable road as well as a stone staircase for those who like climbing exercise. Due to its location at a commanding height original purpose of this structure must have been as an observation post. Rani Roopmati was a devote worshipper of River Narmada. As per the legend she used to have her food only after having a glimpse of River Narmada. As per later day folklore King Baj Bahadur built this pavilion for his lady love Rani Roopmati. From its commanding height, Roopmati could have a darshan of Narmada River and so could have her food. It is built of red sandstone and has domed chambers at either end of the terrace. They give the whole structure a grand look. Arched dalans/ chambers and an inbuilt water storage tank gives some idea of the architectures of those times. We did climb to the top of the Roopmati Pavilion. Panoramic view from its commanding height of 2000 feet higher than the surrounding Nemar plains is really awesome. Saw shining water of lots of lakes built/ made for irrigation purposes but no view, not even a glimpse, of Narmada River.

Visited this wonderful place in January. Beautiful example of rain water harvesting. The rock structure has a 3 floors bottom one was used as horse stable. Above that was room used for soldiers to stay. Top was used as watch tower. Building is having slope structure so as to store a water at one place. The water circulation system in the whole pavillion shows the architectural knowledge of peoples at that time.

large sandstone structure originally built as an army observation post it is known today as Roopmati’s Pavilion. Rani Roopmati – the love interest of Baaz Bahadur lived here and is said to have gazed at the Baz Bahadur’s Palace – situated below and also at Narmada river, flowing through the Nimar plains far below, a river which the queen revered. Roopmati Pavilion is perched regally on the edge of a 365m precipice overlooking the Nimar Valley and to the south of the Baz Bahadur Palace in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh

One of the many great places to see in Mandu . This was earlier built as a Army observation post . Built of sandstone - Rani Roopmati lived at this palace later. She used to have an avid interest in singing and worshipped Maa Narmada . The river Narmada could be seen from the top as a stream on a clear day. Cleanliness is kept at every inch of the palace. Surrounding Greenery is what gives this palace its charm. Fact - This palace strategically separates Nimar and Malwa Plateau .

This place is awesome ❤️, if you are fan of " taji taji hawa" you should visit it . This pavallian is built for Rani roopmati so that she can see and mismerise the beuty of holy narmda river which is 15 Km away (approx ) from here , but the pavallian is built at very high altitude so that Rani can easily see narmda maaiya , also there is a garden 🏡 to spent time in for rani , and one more historical thing here is "juhari khana" when Raja Baaj bahadur is dead in the war of sarangpur all the ladies including rani roopmati of the state has committed suicide by burning their ownself alive in this juharikhana. But it is built very unique and if you visit in morning 🌻 , you will find lots of flowers and 🐦 birds whispering , ☮️ peace 🕊️

This is a good place to visit in the rainy season and winter season, you will get the proper view from the top of the Mahal. The place is very clean, can't be hygienic. But if you are going to Mandu, visit once.

It is not a palace and just a pavillion, but the architectural elements are worth a visit.

The Roopmati Pavilion is a historical monument located in Mandu, a historic town in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is part of the larger Mandu Fort complex, which is known for its architectural and historical significance. Roopmati Pavilion is particularly famous for its picturesque location and architectural beauty. It was built during the reign of Baz Bahadur, the Sultan of Malwa, in the 16th century. The pavilion is named after Roopmati, who was the queen of Baz Bahadur and a renowned classical singer. The pavilion offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Narmada River valley and the ancient city of Mandu. It is believed that Roopmati used to come to this pavilion to view the distant palace of Baz Bahadur and the Narmada River. The architecture of the Roopmati Pavilion combines both Hindu and Islamic styles, making it a unique and captivating structure. Visitors to Mandu often appreciate the historical and romantic allure of this site, which is steeped in the tales of love between Roopmati and Baz Bahadur. Overall, the Roopmati Pavilion stands as a testament to Mandu's rich history and architectural heritage and remains a popular tourist attraction in the region.

Well maintained, with neat and clean surroundings. It’s on the hill, you get good view of Mandu/ Mandav from top of Roopmati Pavilion. Though Public toilets are provided but cleaning and hygiene part needs more to be done.

Maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, Rani Roopmati Pavilion is a magnificent expression of Afghan architecture in sandstone. Basically an observator, famous for the legendary tragic love story of Prince Baz Bahadur and Roopmati. The structure was originally built as an army observation post and was later transformed into the abode of Roopmati. Queen use to see the river and perform religious rites without stepping out of the fort.

If you are visiting mandav then this must be on yours priority list and trust me it is worth of it....it is situated on the top of hill from where you can see upto miles....it is made by King Raj Bahadur for his wife Rani Roopmati for the worship of Maa Narmada after only she eats food daily....the best season to visit here is August to September where all this monument is covered around with greenery and you can feel the clouds entering the monument....

It's ok.. There is nothing much to see.. If you skip from your list there is also nothing to miss.. It's just a small pavilion and also going to the top is restricted...

This is one of the main tourist attractions in the entire Mandu group os monuments. It is believed to be made by the the most famous king of malwa Baz Bahadur for his lover Rani Roopmati. Located on the top of a small hill, you'll have to walk a bit to reach at the top and the view from the top is mesmerizing. The monument is very beautiful and very well maintained. A must visit place in mandu.

Beautiful Architecture, Breathtaking view. You can see the Narmada river flowing in the distance if you look hard enough on a clear day. The drive is slightly challenging for visitors from out of state not used to the unruly traffic in this entire district. Parking is ample but its management is atrocious. My vehicle was blocked by a very smart person when I came back from the monument. Many many others were as well. Never seen such bad traffic sense, unruly driving and parking sense in 20 Indian states that I have visited. Deducted 1 point from the review due to this experience that needs to improve.

Amongst the many monuments and palaces that adorn the historical city of Mandu famous for the legendary tragic love story of Prince Baz Bahadur and Roopmati is the Roopmati's Pavilion, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Mandu. Rani Roopmati Pavilion and Baz Bahadur's Palace are the two most prominent monuments of Mandav Garh resonating the love tales of Rani Roopmati and Baz Bahadur. Both these palaces overlook each other and balladeers of Malwa still sing songs of their eternal love.
