Place of archaeological importance. Natural scenic beauty, but most recommended in monsoon season. Situated at high altitude. Road to Mandu is full of blind turns, avoid late night drive. Tour can be completed in a day, but stay also available in resort. Local food is okay.

Mandu is an ancient fort city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It's surrounded by stone walls dotted with darwazas (gateways). It's also known for its Afghan architectural heritage. Landmark buildings include Hoshang Shah’s Tomb, a domed marble mausoleum, and the vast Jami Masjid mosque, with courtyards framed by colonnades. The imposing, centuries-old Jahaz Mahal palace stands between 2 lakes.

One day is enough for all places covered in Mandu but yaah use your personal vehicle or rental. It'll be easy for cover all places in a single day. My experience was good. So I recommend visit once in life with only friends, you'll enjoy more. And also good place for photoshoot.

Around forty monuments can be found in Mandu – which is also called City of Joy … located in Dhar district of Madhyapradesh. The ruins still stand remarkably intact - the shell of a fortress town from ages past. Mandu is located around 90 KM from Indore. The domed ruins and gutted structures bring the opulance and intricacy of ancient civilization to life.
