If you are looking for a decent hotel convenient to the Auckland Airport I would avoid the Naumi like the plague. It is not convenient to the airport as the Yellow Shuttle Bus they recommend took over 35 minutes to arrive at the hotel which is only a few kilometers away (we arrived at 11 pm so there was no traffic and only one other couple on the bus). The hotel itself, at least our room, was revolting. The decor is early 1970's which would have been tolerable but the carpets and furnishings also seemed from that era and having to clean over 20 dead bugs from the bathtub prior to showering really sealed our view of this property. We stayed here on a quick layover on Monday night Nov 27th and I cannot imagine a worse total experience. There are many other options around the airport, any of which has to be better than the Naumi.

Nice hotel with top notch customer service. Our room came with breakfast buffet, which was good and plenty of selection. Highly recommend this place. We got the pink room, which my wife enjoyed very much.

Very quirky, modern, eccentric hotel with a hospitality experience that's much better than others you'd experience around the city . We stayed on NYE on a staycation, and I was just taken away with all that was included in our rooms. Complimentary minibar, complimentary wine, popcorn in the lobby, gorgeous amenities/toiletries in the room, buffet breakfast. Swimming pool, bar, restaurant. Staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable but Habitat rooms are a little too far away, maybe different access points near there.

Water a little bit cold for the shower in the morning. TV very slow to respond. A little bit of a drainage smell early in the morning. Not much of a problem really, I'm just pointing out tiny little things really. Staff, ALL of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food really good. I would recommend this hotel.

Had a wonderful stay for a night at Naumi hotel. The room was really funky and loved the snacks and drinks provided. Standout of the hotel was the staff. They were all so kind and friendly.

Great stopover for a night. Reception, Jessica, was very helpful in making our first night in New Zealand a good one. Provided information, guide and items we were missing. The room was comfortable and had enough for a couple to have a good rest. The pharmacy & convenience store was a 2 minute walk away. Anything further is either by public bus, yellow bus (will need to buy tickets first) or by Uber. Didn't try the food. Had a good stay, will recommend and come back again.

Beware while booking this property and read the fine print carefully before you make your reservation payment. We were looking to book a room at this property with breakfast for 4 adults which their site clearly allowed but in a very strategically hidden tab to fine print it said 2 additional guests will be charged $35 each for breakfast. We decided to connect with the reservations team to get clarity on what would be the additional charges for 2 extra guests. One person Joan by name replied saying they allow only 3 people per room at first but when we let him know that their site says it allows 4, he said that should be okay in that case. Secondly, on enquiring he said breakfast is included only for 2 people and the additional 2 will have to pay $35 each. We were still okay with that since we did read that in the fine print. Just to be clear so there are no confusions during check-in we specifically made it a point to ask him if the $35 per person was it or if there would be any other additional charges. He then replied back saying out of 4 guests, 2 guests will be charged an additional $30 each for occupancy. During booking the site clearly allows 4 adults in the room with no additional charges for 2 extra guests whatsoever mentioned in the booking quote. So to sum up, an additional $65 per person would be charged at check-in. This was not even mentioned in their fine print and it looks like there is lack of coordination between the web reservations and desk reservations teams. Or there can be something shady in their policies. If we hadn't to clarify, we would be surprised and shocked to know that we would have to pay an additional $130 at the time of check-in. We expressed our disappointment and told Joan that we would like to refrain from booking the property due to this shady behaviour and thought we'd express our disappointment to the team before writing a review. We received another mail from the manager Mr. Andre apologising and said he would personally call to make this right but it's been over a week, we haven't received any further communication from their end. All in all, I must say the property may look great and offer good rooms but beware of their hidden policies and charges before booking.

First time. I arrived late in the evening. Reception helped me with everything, no problems. Bar was open. Sat down for a nice cool beer x2. Service was great. Felt nice and comfortable. Nice way to end my busy day.

Rooms are good but issue with ventilation, very cool with the ducted ventilation but have a cheap heater in the room. Not overly controlled and a bit stuffy. The service with the wait and bar staff is terrible. Had to constantly call for service to the table, to order meals, drinks, desert. Lots of staff on, just no customer care.

Customer service = 0 Made a booking in person with reception. Our insurance was paying for the booking. So I didn't want book online. Showed the receptionist the online rate for two nights she said that's fine. She asked which bed we would like, gave us two options. Two queen beds or a king. I said king. She said this was a different room. I asked about a price difference. Came back basically the same. Booked it and gave them my credit card details. Returned later in the day to check in only to find the receptionist had quoted the day rate instead of the total. Some $350+ difference. They had none if the rooms left at the lower price and the manager refused to match the original rate in an available room. Left is high and dry at 4.30pm to find other accommodation. Further more accused me of getting the information incorrect.

Great experience! After a delay flight, we were more than happy with the big shower and bath. We even book another night before leaving Auckland. We stayed in the Blush Room. Soft bed, big TV, nice shower with good pressure and overall, very clean. It even had a dyson blow dryer for us to use. No microwave in the room but the workers warmed up our food in their restaurant for us. Would recommend staying here! To get here from the airport, take the yellow bus. Buy ticket online or at the ticket area next to the bus. It comes every 45 minutes.

Good central city location, staff are attentive and a nice bar but that's where the positives ended for our stay. Once we returned to our room in the afternoon we were greeted with a continous vibrating humming from the services within the building. We hoped this may be from a neighbouring room. This did not stop at all our entire stay. So absolutely no sleep at all. While we lay awake we read some similar reviews. This guest sums it up best..."Our room, bed and pillows vibrated to the Boeing 737 engine parked outside the window all night with not one second of reprieve or sleep". When we raised this with staff that didn't seem too bothered and played it off. Until we raised the other reviews which then they acknowledged some rooms have this issue with noise. This also doesn't include being able to hear other's conversations from neighbouring rooms. Will not be returning again.

This place has everything you need without "an arm and a leg" price tag. Great breakfast selection as well. Only negative is don't buy a stubble at the bar they're $12 each which is nothing short of theft..

Average hotel at above average price. Booked after reading the great reviews but looks like a lot of the amenities were lost after the pandemic. No snacks in the room and breakfast is an additional $35NZD per person; also shuttle transfer to the airport is $8NZD per person. With all these extra fees, I wouldnt stay here again or recommend others to stay. The room meets the bare standards; it’s clean enough but the sheets are plasticky and cold/uncomfortable and can easily hear noise in the hallways/other rooms (voices, doors closing/opening). We were so tired after our international flight and were disappointed with the additional costs of shuttle, food, and the lack of restful sleep.

The Naumi did not disappoint with its hospitality and its wonderful staff on hand. The rooms and facilities inside was wonderful and the Little Balcony patio concept was a good touch! The Breakfast Buffet was delicious and filling with a decent amount of options. There was a little Shops area which had Restaurants, Liquor Stores etc. I like the fact that the International/Domestic Airports Arrivals & Departures screen was a good touch. A courtesy bus which costs $8 can transport you to the Airport. The Motorway is very close to the Hotel. Mangere Town Centre is a short ten minute drive from the Hotel. Mangere Mountain is fairly close about 10 minutes away. Will definitely recommend and visit again. Thanks Team!!

The Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. We had the pleasure of staying there on the day rate to prepare for our wedding and it was an amazing experience to enjoy all the facilities it had to offer.

We stayed at Naumi 5 years ago on a quick stop in Auckland, and our room then was super updated, beautiful, trendy, worth 4 stars, included free drinks at the bar. Our stay here a week ago was worlds away from that. Maybe some of the wings are slowly being renovated, but we stayed in a dated room with a very old looking bathroom and fixtures. Just some of the things had been slightly modernized, but overall felt like a 2 star stay room-wise. Hotel staff though were very friendly and helpful!

We had such a great stay here right before Christmas. The room and hotel are clean and cute, and the restaurant was very nice! Thank you for hosting us during our honeymoon.

We stayed overnight at Naumi Hotel. Very comfortable beds and friendly service. The Yellow Bus provides a good shuttle service from the Airport for $8.00 each way.

Very nice quirky hotel. Large rooms, cool design, refrigerator, plenty of electrical outlets, free parking. Check-in and out at a kiosk is very fast. I prefer this over the Holiday Inn next door. Kimonos too!

Great hotel l, and is 100% better than the Naumi Wellington! Rooms are a good size, and the bathroom is great. Check in was easy and there was plenty of parking! 10/10 would stay again.

We are regular users of this epic and fantastic hotel. Whilst there are many hotels/motels/motor inns to choose from in and around the airport area, the Naumi Hotel imho would have to be the best in terms of quality, comfort, cost, ease of access and parking, staff friendliness and service that we have come across after many decades of short term stays in the auckland airport area whilst transiting in and out of the city. It's a place that we actually look forward to going to. Little creature comforts like free room snacks and beverages, quality fixtures and fittings, impeccable and tastefully decorated rooms all add to the aura of this place. Lovely bar and great dining area. Nice gym. Would highly commend this hotel to anyone staying in the Auckland Area region - you won't be disappointed.

Places here by airline due to flight cancellation. Rooms are comfortable but odd configuration. Service was poor, very slow some services simply not available. Breakfast buffet adequate ,WHEN it was stocked up

Great service, restaurant food was ok, it's a budget hotel, very close to the airport. Catch a special hotel bus for under $10 a person to get here from the airport. Rooms are a little dated, but it's still great value, and the free popcorn is pretty good 😊👍🍿

Upgraded and Stayed in the habitat room twin share on 2nd stay and was fantastic, beds were super comfy, clean, lighting was great and the rain shower was awesome! Once again staff are A++ and make all the difference to an establishment, treated with respect and welcoming attitudes from front of house to house keeping staff. Best hotel within close proximity to airport and easy access to parking and hotel. Will always stay here when travelling from airport. Also, bond was refunded within 72hrs this time which we were pleased with.

Dislike the fact that the room number is rudely asked when entering the restaurant or while consuming the meals. There has to be a better way for the staff to find this out. Need more choices on the restaurant menu.

  • 3/5 Phillip L. 7 months ago on Google
convenient, cheap, couldn’t get any kind of breakfast earlier than 6am due to early flight. we did ask at reception and bar staff but it was a straight up NO! i thought it was rude since we had young kids with us.

Comfy, clean rooms with good amenities that have been well decorated. - As is the rest of the hotel. The restaurant is yum and its such a handy location to the airport.

Pleasantly surprised, far better than anything else in the area. It is modern, clean and tidy. Rooms updated with fit and finishes that are currently on trend. Has complimentary gym, pool and parking. The complimentary mini bar is a great touch too with quality products.

Quirky place conveniently located near the airport. Rooms were clean, quiet, and stylish. Complementary snacks, popcorn and Almighty drinks were a nice touch!

The rooms were very well presented although for a three day stay was advised only serviced every three days, and short staffed cording to reception. Some room supplies inadequate for period of stay. Restaurant seemed to have new staff. Part of mains evening meal day , inedible. Dessert delicious. Good smorgasbord breakfast. Entree and mains day 2 both delivered at same time so mains sent back. For the price I would have expected better. Pool and Gym a nice touch though and handy location, close to Airport.

So nice to see a Hotel with a point of difference- absolutely loved the decor! Perfect place to stay if you are coming or going to the airport. Everything was great on our stay, only improvements would be more comfortable beds & perfecting coffees with oat milk 👍

  • 3/5 Joanne O. 1 year ago on Google
Handy for the airport and there are some restaurants in the vicinity. Very well appointed, large and comfortable room but the decor was a tad dark and gloomy, as were the corridors. WiFi? It was available but the network is open. Not good for a hotel that charged $323 for a night - and that didn't Include breakfast! We couldn't have tried the restaurant in the hotel anyway as it doesn't open til 7am; if you have an early flight to catch you'd miss out anyway. (Pity, as I reckon quite a few guests will be staying there because it's close to the airport. Maybe they will 'up the ante' a bit with opening times as things settle down post covid.) There was no one on reception apart from a security guard when we checked out which was a pain, as we needed a receipt. Drinks in the bar are pricey, a small glass of beer was $13! Insufficient teabags, no biscuits, no information book and the milk was one of those small cartons with a straw, so you can't pour it properly. (Can I suggest a little jug of milk in the fridge?) I got the impression that it's a hotel that has undergone an extensive refurbishment, but it needs to iron out some teething troubles.

  • 3/5 Justin F. 1 year ago on Google
Nice clean room with plenty of space. Fridge, coffee machine and kettle but really needed a toaster. The restaurant menu was pretty bleak. My room was only tidied once, don't need fresh linen or beds made but two coffee pods and a dribble of milk for three days is just cheap. I'll still probably return next time I'm in town. Good location for me.

  • 3/5 Sage J. 1 year ago on Google
Could probably do better for less. Beautiful interior, room was a bit smaller than what is portrayed in the photos. Everything was clean, beds were not as comfortable as expected. Dinner service was just sad, awkward, and over priced. Had better chicken at the dairy than what they are charging $28 for.

  • 3/5 b. m. 1 year ago on Google
Nice atmosphere on entry. Staff are helpful and professional. Room 145 has a security light on a building close by that shines in at random hours (sheer curtains). There are also other external lights close by that are on all the night such that the birds think it's daytime. Ask for a different room if you're a light sleeper!

  • 1/5 Michael N. 1 year ago on Google
15 minute wait to check in. Room looks nothing like the photos - bare with no rugs or artwork on the walls. Must have been recently painted as it smelt of paint fumes. The place is kind of scary. More like the worst backpackers hostel you can imagine. We politely explained the issues asked if we could cancel and find another hotel. That wasn't ok so we decided to just leave. The receptionist chased us out saying we can't leave like this. Absolutely bizarre experience.

We stayed in the Habitat Room. Big spacious room. Absolutely loved the massive shower head flowing from the ceiling. 50" smart T.V was a nice touch too. Front reception people weren't overly friendly but efficient. Their housekeeping staff however were very lovely. Will definitely stay again, but will check out more of the hotel facilities.

Looks flash on the website but completely budget! Don’t help with luggage and looks so old. Nothing like photos. Don’t even have proper menus or bar. There room service menu was complete joke as were the normal “restaurant” menu. No vegan options. So budget. Smelt gross and the shower amenities weren’t even antipodes they were filled with some cheap supermarket gel and shampoo!!! Not happy with my stay here at all.

This place was honestly beautiful, the staff were lovely and the hotel room was relaxing and homey. I was travelling from Australia with my cat, the staff were helpful and friendly. There were a lot of complimentary freebies in the hotel room which I really appreciated after my flight! Would definitely recommend staying here.

I really liked this place- chic decor comfy beds friendly service. Close to airport, free parking, friendly foyer, cosy lounge atmosphere. Food was great. Spacious areas- our side closest to the road was a little noisy- but would be fine if you had an inner room facing the courtyard area.

Super funky hotel. About 5 or 6 minutes drive (outside rushhour) to the airport. Uber was around $40 in the morning and around $15 at night to and from the airport. It's like one of those old school hotels you see all around NZ... But all done up super cool. They've done an amazing job of the decor and all the little details (like a Star Trek beam me up scotty vinyl next to the elevator, and all around cool little stickers that say Naumi says... and then something fun). The main restaurant has been done up super fancy. And there's lots of nice comfy seating near the restaurant area where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea (or whatever other beverage takes your fancy). We used this place as a stopover for one night from a regional flight to an international flight. Was perfect for that!

  • 4/5 Gary 2. 1 year ago on Google
The Naumi is a very elegant hotel, with well appointed rooms. A large flat screen TV and very comfy beds. If you are flying out the next day it is about 3.5ks to the airport with early morning transfers available. If you plan on staying ask for a pool view room. There is a restaurant and bar on premises. Beds are extremely comfy.

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel after reading some reviews. Good location, lovely grounds, large rooms, comfortable beds, fluffy towels, friendly helpful staff, yellow shuttle to airport $8, parking, restaurant. Only negative is that they took $100 credit card bond and processed it and have not refunded the amount and its been 11 days and no reply to my email.

Located Nice and close to Auckland airport only a ten minute taxi. Polite and friendly staff the rooms however do seem a bit outdated and the bathrooms could do with a refurb. Not too expensive so you get what you paid for. Close enough to a few local sites and has an in house restaurant too.

  • 4/5 Bella 10 months ago on Google
Lovely place with a nice restaurant on-site. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Despite a system issue (which was addressed immediately), we enjoyed our very short stay and look forward to staying here again in the future.

Wow, just wow. I haven't stayed in many hotels in my life but this has topped my expectations. We stayed in an Oasis room and received a bottle of red or white wine of our choice on arrival. When getting the keys to our room, we were told that everything in the mini bar and fridge were complimentary which was so lovely. Not only that, but it came with all the finest touches such as shampoo, conditioner, body and hand wash, body lotion in the bathroom, along with a small pack that had toothbrushes and other bathroom accessories to make you feel fresh and rejuvenated. There was a shower steamer cube and bath salts, like literally everything you could have needed, it was there. Such a beautiful stay, although short - it will be remembered. Thank you to Zayne who checked us in early at no cost and was lovely through the whole check in process.

Upon check in, I confirmed my reservation, and was given a room that wasn't shown on the map. With narrow hallways and a full luggage dolly it made it frustrating to navigate. After finding it, we went to go crash on the bed. It was rock hard. Like cardboard rock hard. Tried ringing the front desk, no answer. For a high end hotel they sure lack high-end finishes. We went to the pool only to find out they don't heat it up. No extra towels available either. We went to go order in room dining only to find out half the items weren't available. Upon check out it was smooth until they called almost a month later to say I never provided my credit card upon check in (absolutely not true) and that I needed to pay for extra charges that were charged to the room. I asked for some time to verify this information and would get back them. (wanted to make sure I wasn't being scammed) I then received and emailed from them saying I wasn't cooperative and they would go to a higher authority. A week later I finally received a proper receipt outlining these charges. Things have been since sorted out but I cannot warm people enough about the bad service, rock hard beds, and lack of dine in options. This hotel isn't worth the price.

The place is quiet and comfortable. Was ideal for my short trip and I was away from the hotel most of the day, everyday. Came back to a clean roomeach time

  • 3/5 Louisa K. 9 months ago on Google
Rough refurbishment with unfinished fittings and paint jobs. The humidifier with scent throughout the hotel was a little overbearing. Staff were great, but it was not what we were expecting. Good location close to motorway and easy to get to the airport. We got the economy room, I suggest going for the habitat room.hooefully more attention to detail in those rooms. The price was reasonable as well

All I can say is… wow! We were pleasantly surprised with this airport hotel. Staff were welcoming on arrival and very helpful, the food at the restaurant was 10/10 delicious and came out in impeccable time, the rooms were spotless and the design impressive, and did i mention the bed was super comfy?! This hotel is an easy bus ride from the airport ($32 NZD return for two passengers) and on the Yellow Bus airport hotel list. Make sure you check that out if your visiting NZ.

Was a bit of a struggle to find the lift when it came time to leave. Also not ideal but the loo would not stop running but it was the weekend so totally expected. Lovely staff and will stay again at some stage.
