We’ve stayed here twice now - nearly three years ago, long before Covid and it was lovely. Now we’re here for MIQ, and it’s still great. Really lovely staff. Food can be a little hit & miss - but that’s to be expected from food that has to be made in bulk. Some of the dishes are absolutely 10/10 - like the Minestrone with Garlic bread. I was on the biggest high after that meal! I loved it. The portions are huge though. But you get dessert with dinner and that’s always a win 😃

This was a disaster. We stayed there Saturday night and had 2 rooms , one for $300 and the other for $400. My daughter is Type 1 diabetic and needs food to coincide with insulin, or risks a coma. We were told the restaurant would take one hour to have a free table (it looked empty) so we went back to the room to order room service at 7pm. Most of the menu was unavailable. They could give us only burgers and pizza and it would take an hour. Not our kind of food at all but we had no choice. After 80 minutes I phoned to hear that our order had been lost and it would be another 25 minutes. At that my daughter took off to the terminal to find some food, any food. She was by then very unwell. So she ate chocolate in the terminal. And crisps back in the room. There is no food in the mini-bar in this hotel. Why??? This for $400 per night. Dreadful and dangerous. Bring your own food.

No question that this is the best place to stay for a morning international flight. We had parking booked very close by too. We arrived 8pm and the restaurant was fully booked but service was otherwise welcoming and efficient. Our room had the shower over the bath and I don't like that but otherwise the room was luxurious. That accounts for the 4 not 5 stars. It was a comfortable if rather short stay as we were out again at 6am.

I kinda dragged myself into the hotel at like 2am after several long haul flights. This room was so quiet and soo comfortable - a shame I only got a few hours sleep before my flight back to Napier. But I loved it! The only downside? The cost, it's so expensive. But otherwise couldn't fault it at all.

Absolutely abysmal! Stuck in the smallest room they have. Feed SLOP every day. Food is better in prison. Air conditioning doesn't work properly. Bar fridge isnt cold enough, TV is crooked, no cutlery, plates, bowels given, no individual shower, have to climb up into a very high bath and out of. Hurts my knees. Hot water jug is broken. Thick dust above the bathroom door. Would definitely not recommend this below one star Novatel to ANYONE.

The room itself was lovely and very quiet. The bed was excellent as well as the pillows. The only reason we have marked you down was there was a very unpleasant odour when we entered the room, to the extent I had to go back out and hold the door open to try to ventilate it. It was still there after we re entered but slowly dispersed. It was a toilet smell like after someone had just done #2. Apart from that we had a super stay and enjoyed the restaurant. We will definitely be back

The beds are nice and soft. Better than most hotels which is good. Food was overpriced but what do you expect from right next to the airport. Was good for an overnight stay so you don't have to get up any earlier than you have to as the airport is right next door. Great TV channels aswell.

Service at reception was great, room was clean, they’ve got everything and the beds were super comfortable. Locations the best if you’re in transit overnight with an early morning flight, it’s literally just outside the arrivals door

Perfect stay for before and after flights. Very comfortable rooms, love the view of the planes from the top floors. Happy with the friendly services from the staff everyone was lovely. We enjoyed the kids play area it was very clean and tidy. Thank you Novotel for giving us a great stay.

Room was very comfortable, check in and out excellent. What was disappointing was we had visitors who came to see us at 10.00 a.m. and due to breakfast change over were unable to order a muffin or pastry to go with our coffees which we ordered at the bar. Seemed a bit ridiculous that the waiter couldn't have just been able to pick something that was left over from the breakfast buffet and brought to us, which we would have been more than happy with. While the staff in the restaurant were very pleasant the service was very slow.

After a late night flight, the Novotel Auckland at the Airport is perfect location, checkin was effortless and we were in bed in 30min. Beds are comfortable and room is well appointed. Ask tor a top floor facing the bay.. a great view to wakeup too. Breakfast was not extensive but had all the staples and yummy. A late checkout allowed for us to rest before our next flight. Only issue is the cost of the rooms, but I suppose you pay that for the convenience.

Nice and fresh new hotel, located few steps from Auckland International Airport. Everything still smells new and is tidy and clean. Small and efficient reception desk at entry with good , professional service. One of the elevators was t working but otherwise at least they operate fast so no wait time. Rooms are your typical hotel rooms, but with plenty of functional space, small desk, tiny cattle area to make a tea and equipment with mini bar. Bathroom spacious with well working shower. Next to reception there is restaurant (bookings recommend as not many seats) and bar. Definitely recommended!

This was a great place to stay during a long layover between flights. Very accommodating in letting me book a room for the day. Hotel is just a walk across from the airport. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Will stay again if I need to.

Situated immediately accross the road from the international Airport...staying here has become part of my holiday ritual. The new mattresses are very comfortable. Rooms are large and with exceptional sound proofing. This time i did notice some areas for improvement. 1. Room service meals werent as well presented as normal although still delicious. 2. Staff at the front desk did not know much about the area and would benefit from doing a bit of research. Especially given all the construction going on.

The hotel is fine but the following interaction is not okay and very scammy. We arrived at 2am. Got a card and went straight to bed. Then early in the morning we did an express check out and dropped out cards. Later in the day, i received the invoice, I noticed an extra charge of 100 dollars for room upgrade. Something I wasn't aware of, or explained to me at check in. I called the office and the manager said that they upgraded us for improved comfort and that's the extra charge. I told her I didn't ask for the upgrade and no one told me about it at 2am during check in. This is what she said : "clearly you received a bigger room when you entered the room. You need to tell us after you entered the room that you didn't want an upgrade." I replied: "I've never been to this hotel before, how would I know its an upgrade if you didn't tell me. Does that mean you can upgrade me to the presidential suite and just not tell me and then charge me after." "Yes. It's your job to see that the room has been upgraded and then come back down stairs and we can change you back to your original room so you don't get charged." "I just want my money back." "It's over 100 dollars. I'm not sure I can return that money." "What are you talking about?" "Okay fine. I'll return the money. But next time you if you notice the room is bigger than what you booked you need to exit the room and the return the keys." That has to be the dumbest interaction I've ever had with a hotel.

Convenient location. A couple of minutes walk to international airport. Parking a mission. Couldn't reach the taps for the bath due to the fixed glass which made it a struggle. Ordered room service, some items weren't delivered till later. Great view of the planes.

Rooms were gorgeous. Service lost a point as no cot was in the room when we arrived at 8pm despite being told at check in that it was there. Given how much the room cost us, I would have expected our request to have been actioned before we arrived. View was epic. But all the works was unappealing especially by the breakfast. Breakfast buffet was also not worth it. I'd stay again given its convenient location and lovely rooms.

  • 4/5 Priscilla R. 8 months ago on Google
It is very convenient to stay there but we didn't find the staff very helpful. The room we had was avarage but good! No complaints about the rooms! We unfortunately didn't eat there but we had a coffee and that was good too. I think the fact that the hotel is literally just outside the international departure building, is 100% perfect. We are very happy to put everything else aside for that! ❤️

Excellent service, price is up there but consistent with an airport hotel. Quiet considering its next to the runway! Good internet, good syncing devices to TV. $14 for a small tap beer is a little excessive.

We always stay here when visiting the north and south islands of NZ. This hotel is a skip & jump from the airport which is handy! Its a simple walk across the path and your there. You can see the planes from your room but you cant hear them so its lovely. The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing. Loved the eatery and we always have the buffet which provides us with so many choices of great high quality food. Also love the bar area 😉 Highly! highly! highly! recommended.

I had a short stay there and felt so comfortable in the room. The bed and pillows were the best. The staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great rest! Only problem is I never noticed any signs for the hotel in the terminal!

Everyone knows that this hotel is known for its great location but let me tell you that apart from great location and comfy rooms the staff is really friendly as well. We were supposed to be there for one night and meant to fly the next morning. We checked out and the airline couldn’t fly us for some reason and asked us to get the same hotel (promising to reimburse). We went back and got given the same room straight away knowing that we were travelling with 6 months old. Hospitality department was equally helpful as well.

  • 4/5 Perry C. 6 months ago on Google
We arrived, slept and left so not much for us to review. We had already eaten and had no time for breakfast in the morning. The rooms were fine and we looked over the airport (a similar room as when we were lucky enough to be quarantined there during COVID). The gymn area looked good but we didn't have the time to use it.

Was a bit disappointed as I’d heard such good things about staying there after a long flight. We arrived with our two teenagers and toddler to the wrong room configuration and no cot set up after double checking there was one when we checked in. The beds were too soft and lumpy, really badly made. Tv was also on a large tilt. Overall the rooms are quite run down and definitely not worth the price tag.

So convenient to stay here for an early morning flight since we live 1.5 hours outside Auckland. Super-easy check-in/check-out and the room was lovely. Great shower and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend.

We arrived very late and had a superior king room at a cost of $419. It was nice and the bed was very comfortable but nothing special for the price, you're paying for location. However, housekeeping needs attention. Some of the bathroom accessories were empty, and I noticed the mini bar was very sparse and missing 6 items according to the list, I mentioned it to reception on our way out at 5 am and she apologized and said she would make a note. Later that day found we were charged for 4 items. After no response to an email, we called Novotel and ended up getting a refund for their mistake. TIP: Always check your mini bar!!

Upon my early morning 3.30am arrival. The staff were nice and polite. The room was wonderful. There was no porter assistance offered with all my luggage. There were 2 staff present at the time of check in at 4am. The unsatisfying part of my short stay due to the check out that same morning at 11am, was the full cost price I paid vs a short stay price which started at 6am.

Novotel is easily accessible from Auckland International Airport. Located just across the street and reachable via foot. Receptionist was friendly and made our stay comfortable. Room was clean and spacious for 2. Despite being next to the airport, there were not any noise from landing/take off. Plenty of options for buffet breakfast. Overall, we had a nice experience.

We were just staying for one night , as we were catching early flight the next morning. The location right next to the international airport terminal was very convenient, meaning we could sleep in a bit longer in the morning. Staff were a pleasure to deal with and very friendly and helpful. The room was a perfect size and very tidy and modern. Overall it was a great experience. Thank you Novotel. 😊

Perfect location, just across the road from Auckland International Airport. Arrived tired after long flight. Immediately made to feel welcome. Beautiful environment and very comfortable accommodation. Everything we needed was there, including beautiful, high quality toiletries.

Tried calling the hotel on the phone multiple times at different times, no one picked up. When we arrived, we were told to go to the wrong floor. And when we finally got into our room, the toilet wasn’t cleaned (had poop stains on the toilet seat. The toilet lid had full of dust and flush stains). We stayed for only one night so couldn’t be bothered asking to change the room. The reception was informed about the issue but no further action was taken.

Easy check in. Great customer service. Only thing that wasn't ideal was the shower over the bath, not easy to get in to for older people. A normal shower would enhance the stay.

Perfect location for international airport (you can probably hold your breath and get from the terminal into the lobby...). This is a modern hotel in condition with large beds. Super quiet and slept really well. Friendly team at the front desk as well as a friendly team helping with bags. Not cheap but it's so convenient I don't really care. Worked perfectly for us with a midnight arrival to Akl then a early morning domestic flight. Shower. Sleep. Breakfast. What more could you want?

Facilities wise no complaints but they delayed the pcr test which was supposed to be done 2 days prior to flight. Went to do right away but was told to come only on the flying day and even was assured to get the results within few hours but it did not happen. Because of that my brother had to reschedule his flight to Malaysia , redo his Pcr test again, submit some paper works, and wasted additional 2 days when he is not even well (fractured finger). The second flight was more expensive and very long transit compared to previous one. While here we had to re-appeal for his home quarantine, because of the delay high chances of him getting sent to quarantine centre once back in malaysia. No apologies or compensation given by the hotel whatsoever. The 2nd pcr test results came within few hours so it can be done but they ignored it the first time. Could have saved so much hassle and return to his homeland soon but because of the hotel's irresponsible decision that did not happen.

Stayed here a few years ago before the pandemic. The hotel was lovely staff was welcoming and helpful. Will return again hopefully once it is not an MIQ

  • 5/5 Megan J. 2 years ago on Google
Staying here for MIQ so not the usual touristy experience but am so pleased to be here. Lovely spacious room with a glimpse of the sea, the food is excellent - loads of variety with plenty of fruit and snacks included, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. I had been dreading this time in quarantine but am so lucky to have ended up at the Novotel, it has been like an enforced holiday.

  • 5/5 Joie L. 2 years ago on Google
MIQ review - spacious rooms, good variety of food, friendly staff. FOOD - we are two adults and the food was enough to comfortably feed a family of 4! I've attached only a few photos of the food as I don't want to spoil the one exciting thing you have to look forward to everyday during MIQ. Before you get TOO excited though, quality wise it is what you'd expect from mass produced food that's eaten probably 15 minutes after cooking but despite that we did have some tasty meals (mmm lamb🐑 chops). Lunch is best then brekkie then dinner. It's appreciated that they use eco friendly packaging. 🌏🌿 ROOM - clean, modern, plugs for hdmi cable available and you can cast YouTube / Disney from your phone. STAFF - everyone we spoke to was super nice. We were allowed out for 45 mins / day once we tested negative. Fridge, kettle and teas-coffee in room. Wouldn't hesitate to come back for both MIQ and non-MIQ scenarios.

Currently on my second last day of MIQ and the overall experience has been pleasant. I was unsure of how to feel when we were told we were staying at the Notovtel in Auckland but the hotel & staff have been awesome. I am a picky eater but the menu options were accommodating and I have enjoyed all bar one or two meals that were a bit out of my boring comfort zone. The allocation of outside time is somewhat entertaining (walking in a circle for 45 minutes) but it does the trick to break up the day. The wifi is quick enough and the rooms are very clean. Thanks to all the front line workers for your help! :)

had miq here and it was okay. the food was great most of the time but there were a few times that it was not so good. my main issues were that the room was below average with cleanliness, i had expected to be above average due to covid. thankfully i had extra cleaning wipes because there were fingerprints on tables, drawers, and the main door handle had a layer of yellow on it like it hadn’t been wiped in a while. also some issues with lack of communication from reception, other than that it was good. the barista coffee was absolutely amazing delicious and it was worth buying every day.

Junior suite is one of the best choices however expensive, yet so worthy. Best views of the Runway. It’s astonishingly quiet as well. Best breakfast buffet even though it’s not all back to normal times just yet. Dinner menu was depressing but it’s again because of issues with suppliers and staffing levels. I can’t wait to return when this hotel goes back to it’s original best form. Amazing staff, very friendly, accommodating and attentive. Hotel Manager is very understanding, calm and easily approachable. This is by far the best Novotel Hotel I’ve experienced in New Zealand yet.

  • 5/5 Rolly Hay h. 1 year ago on Google
Bloody expensive. But unfortunately it's worth every dollar. Great bar and restaurant and you can wander over the road to departures first thing in the morning. Beautiful interior, rooms are amazing and really well thought out. 10/10. I'll begrudgingly give them my money again. Batman on the night of 30/7 was amazing also.

  • 2/5 S G. 1 year ago on Google
We went to the Bistro for lunch. It was a lovely interior design. the menu was terrible- chips with everything! Burger! Asked for the tempura fish $32- it was actually basic fish & chips NZ style! - so disappointing. Expected something more upmarket and nicer for $35 a meal???? the waitress was nice, but didn't know what the Soup of the Day was??? Nor what Monk fish was like??? I remember being underwhelmed last time I was here with the waitress. Wine was lovely.

The loaction is perfect for getting to the international Airport for those early departing or late arrival flights. Price is definitely a lot more than other hotels within 5 km of the terminal but you get what you pay for in terms of convenience, nice rooms, quick and easy check inn service . The only negative I can think of is that their bar closes early .

Beautifully decorated. Fabulous location when you arrive late and are leaving early. Super comfy bed. Amazing breakfast.

  • 4/5 K W. 1 year ago on Google
Unbeatable for convenience with its proximity to airport arrivals hall. Really clean room and good service. Kayla on front desk was particularly helpful. Room for improvement with the room service menu as it is quite basic with burger, pizza, etc and the only in-house restaurant alternative is a buffet dinner. Stand out feature was how quiet the room was. Even right next to the airport absolutely no noise from outside and we barely heard other guests. Would definitely stay again. Tip: I’m travelling with my toddler so requested a room with a bath it made our night time routine much easier.

  • 5/5 Kendra B. 9 months ago on Google
Had a great night. The best bed I have EVER slept in. It was like a cloud. I slept like a log, and that just doesn't happen these days. The rooms are totally soundproof, so there are no disturbing engine noises. Really comfortable room for my sister and I with a large bed each. We managed to get a table for dinner at the restaurant, but had to book ahead. (We booked as soon as we got to our room). The meal was tasty and we didn't have to wait long. The Novotel is so handy to the International arrival/departures terminal being just a walk across the road. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel, part of the Accor group. Rooms clean and comfortable, bed very nice. Very good buffet breakfast. Seemed short staffed but those there were trying really hard to do a professional job.

  • 5/5 Jimmy A. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel has the basic amenities and setup that you need for a short stay if you landed late at night or leaving early in the morning. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is clean. Restaurant is cosy and, though the menu is fixed throughout the day and not much options, it taste great and the price is reasonable.

We stayed in a suite in this hotel and even though it was very convenient as it was next to the airport the service was absolutely terrible. It took multiple phone calls to reception, room service etc before they would answer the calls, and when they eventually did, the small tasks, such as bringing an ice bucket would take upwards of 45minutes. We asked for the room to be cleaned as it had not been done by around 4pm, and when we got back the bed wasn’t even made but the towels were changed… at least. We went and had dinner in the all you can eat buffet paid $42 per person and the food was bland, tasteless, and there was next to no variety. We decided to go back to the room and order room service instead, we ordered at around 9:30 pm we did not receive our pizza till about 11pm and when we got it we were appalled, as we paid $26 for this pizza that was so small and couldn’t even satisfy a small child. Considering the $870 + per night we paid to stay in the suite, you would think they would have a concierge available, or to be able to carry out basic requests as simple as, “could we please get some plates and cutlery brought up to our room” we had asked this at 8:30 pm and did not receive anything until 9.45pm. We tried to remain positive as we understand they’re busy and potentially understaffed however our patience ran thin following continuous issues. The suite itself was beautiful and as mentioned before in a great location however it was significantly outweighed by the issues we incurred. We would not recommend unless they endeavour to improve on their service.

We stayed here for a night on our way back home and with an early flight out the next morning, this was an absolute game changer! We were able to check in for our flight early and come back to the hotel for breakfast when the dining area opened at 06:00. The room was great, service was prompt. They provided a smaller blanket, step up stool and bath mat for our daughter which was really helpful. The next morning we had the airport trolleys delivered to the room to load our luggage directly. Recommended option if you need a hotel directly across the road from the international terminal

Great place to stay. Got a late flight so stayed there the night. Room was really good and absolutely no noise from outside. I travel a lot and this will become a regular on my trips to NZ.

Painless and quick and easy 👌 words from a colleague about the services. Really lovely and professional young man Joseph made sure an overseas colleague was checked in seamlessly. It makes a world of difference to see a smiley face and being processed quickly after a long flight and lines. Super pleased and impressed with services. I can rest assured when booking colleagues into Novotel they'll be looked after and have a great experience

Straightforward really, convenient Hotel for an international flight, and modern rooms. However issue is you have to dine their due to isolation of location and probably had the worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant, the buffet was awful and the a la carte was average too, considering the really high prices too. The service from staff in the Hotel was non-existent and really poor, saw many patrons that were left sitting on arrival and note attended too.

  • 5/5 Ed B. 1 year ago on Google
Very convenient if you want to walk to your flight in the morning. Beds are comfortable, rooms and shower are very nice. Breakfast costs but gives a wide variety of choices.

  • 5/5 Helen H. 1 year ago on Google
We decided to overnight at the Novotel at the airport rather than transport into town and back out the next day to fly out. We were on the 10th floor and the room was very clean and nicely put together, soothing. The bed had the most amazing mattress - the best I've slept since we arrived in NZ. The food selections from the bistro were not so good nor are they done in a manner that my taste buds enjoyed. Ingredients are good but there are just some things you shouldn't try to make too niche or different. We ordered a house burger and steak fries to come up to the room as a TV late night snack (that special snack you don't eat at home in the evening!) And the burger had a mushroom sauce with sliced mushrooms in it - immediately too messy to eat and made the burger fall apart. Result? Too messy and tasted a bit random actually. It did not get eaten. The buffet breakfast is good though. So it is a handy site to transition through and make your departure from NZ much easier but in terms of food it's a case of trying too hard and underwhelming results. All in all a good stay though. It is so quiet you would never know you are right next to the international terminal.

Clean, modern rooms with huge bathtubs and great TV. Perfect to relax before flying out. My parents had an “airport view” room that looked over the construction which was odd. But we could see some planes landing to the side of the building. Staff were very friendly and hotel is in mint condition. Bar is a cool place to hangout. The restaurant staff did not check on our table much and we had to fill our own water several times. Found the soup was a bit brothy without much substance to it but it was yummy. Other meals were fine. Good atmosphere. You need to make reservations for dinner. Wish there was free parking or discounted at least for the price you pay to stay there. The lot next to the hotel is airport prices so you quickly rack up $54(daily max) for just a few hours staying which is insane. Location is directly across from the airport so can’t beat that for early morning flight.

I used the restaurant/bar while waiting for family to fly in through the international terminal. A great environment, stylishly executed, with good food and drink options. A wonderful alternative to passing time in the arrivals hall.

  • 4/5 Geof C. 1 year ago on Google
Check in was easy, room was comfortable and quiet. In room facilities were neat, clean and more than adequate. We went down to Thirteen50 Bistro Bar for a drink prior to our evening meal. After having a drink at the bar we moved to a table to have buffet. The buffet is not what anyone would have expected for a 5 star international hotel. The pork chops were incredibly dry, the chicken was also well below par. Salads were fresh and looked great. Dessert..... a large bowl of strawberry yoghurt with marshmallows mixed through it, a plate of cookies, two large jars of lollies (sweets). LAZY.
