I've used the Post Office Public House for two years in a row now to have a gathering of 20 - 30 people, and the Jannet and the team have been more than accommodating. Communication leading up to the event was fantastic even to the point Jannet personally created a sign for our gluten free and vegetarian attendees. Thanks to all the staff at POPH. Really appreciate the service.

Great place for a nice pub dinner. Atmosphere was good with very attentive service and reasonable prices. Great alternative to eating at the hotel restaurant if you're staying at the jet park hotel down the road.

We had our grandmas birthday there on the 20th August and everyone left with smiley faces. We hired the whole dining area which occupied 58 people from our event, perfect sitting area with heaps of sun and a tv also its right next to the kitchen 👍 we had buffet and the food was 👌👌👌👌.. DELICIOUS!!! Beef and pork were perfectly cooked with yummy sauces, butter chicken and rice plus chicken stir fry were perfect too... not to mention the chicken ceasar salad, that was yummy too. We got to take the left over food home afterwards. Dessert was amazing, only ice cream and cheesecake and i think that was perfect, not much but just something sweet to add to the perfect meal we had. All the young adults enjoyed the many jugs of beer from the bar so thank you.. Overall our experience was one to remember.. Thank you to Saral and the Team for an awesome day, huge thank you to the chefs 👍 We will definitely come back in future, good that its closer to home and the staff are so friendly and easy to deal with. The food at the Post Office Public House is amazing. I had the Butchers selection steak. The meat is great and the mushroom sauce is to die for, my partner had the Eye Fillet, which was also wonderful! There is a decent beer selection and the house wine is good too! Recommended

We were food fished. Come here if your really desperate. Place looks decent on the outside, and the reviews seemed real . Went out for a staff lunch and the warning signs to leave were everywhere, remaining plates with food left behind, which the staff was prompt enough to keep clearing, weird smell when you walk in. But no, unfortunately we stayed. I'm not sure how its even possible in 2022 to undercook fries ESPECIALLY if your serving portion is about 8 fries or i guess 13 fries on your plate if lucky. If its beyond the chefs capability, the least you can do for your customers is invest in an Air fryer. We basically didn't have much options to choose from around the menu because the chicken was all out of stock, that's fine so 3 of my work colleagues ordered beef enchiladas, we might as well should have ordered plain dough , as that's what it tasted like. The other colleague is glutton intolerant and that was mentioned twice, and guess what in her salmon salad, there were croutons, which she specifically asked to be taken out before ordering. If its your cup of tea to pay $20 to basically taste tzatziki sauce, id recommend ordering the lamb pizza. When the male waiter came to clear our plates, no feedback was asked around how the meals were, so i offered one and the only acknowledgment was "We aRE cHanGING tHE Menu" i don't think the menu is the issue, i dare suggest maybe maybe change the CHEF. No acknowledgment , no discount , no apologies, just a nonchalant attitude from staff, Best thing on the menu is the coke.

Ate fried chicken and chips. Not even anywhere comparable to KFC. Half the quantity and double the price. but I was feeling very puffed up. with the ingredients added to the chicken after eating here and had loose stools. Another customer also complained in a review. One of my colleagues found the chicken too hard for a burger. Spoke to the restaurant and informed them and hence as a Local Guide this review. instead of taking corrective action, the owner had time to view all my past reviews. The Orchard Juicery & Kitchen next door is highly recommended, instead of this mainly burger shack.

Absolutely wonderful service. Had my Austic brother’s family birthday 🎂 today. He loved the calm warm atmosphere. Loved his favourite steak meal . We found a perfect venue for our Nana’s 80th birthday. The intimate, cozy vibe made our family feel at home. The catering service was top-notch, especially the delicious fish bites and the ham, and they ensured the food was plentiful. The booking process was smooth and transparent from start to finish. Wanted steak for lunch and this place popped up on google, their steak meal did not dissapoint, nice place to relax and have a few beers, play pool or watch sports. Friendly staff and will be back to try more on the menu

We had lunch here and it was the worst food ever tasted. Buttermilk chicken was hard as a rock with no flavour. Fish and chips tasted like frozen fish from weeks ago. Pizza was soggy, felt like it was microwaved. The customer service was ridiculous - I hope they learn from this and serve better food and better service to their customers.

Been there many times before, but first time at a catered event today & it was great. Lovely staff, nice food. Great outdoor area. They were very accomodating to my friend's requests.

Nice establishment. Friendly,clean and lovely attentive staff. Price range is average. Good location avoiding busy traffic. The food I ordered was ok. If I go back I will try something else, because of the kebabs I had I am not use to those kinds of herbs and spices but that's just me.. Overall it was a nice atmosphere and I couldn't complement the staff enough because they were super awesome.

Months of planning and saving went into arranging a surprise 30th birthday proposal dinner for my partner, along with our close friends and the attentive staff. The manager, in particular, was incredibly helpful, keeping us updated and ensuring everything went smoothly. The proposal was a success, thanks in part to the delicious food and the exceptional communication of the staff. On the day of the birthday, amidst nerves for the proposal, they were incredibly uplifting. This is quite the update since I went to this establishment. It's quite homey and relaxing when you enter the premises. If you're ever interested in looking at a restaurant/bar near the Auckland Airport... then this is the spot. Reasonably priced and the meals were quite delicious. I would recommend anyone to try this place if you're ever in the area. I ordered the ribs which were very delicious and tasty. Didn't expect something so large and filled with different components. The vege burger was quite delicious as well, my partner had ordered it and it was quite the meal. She recommended coming to this place and it was a great suggestion.

Reserved the outside area for myself and a group of friends! Staff were amazing. Also highly recommend the food platters. Overall a great time and will definitely be back again!

Friendly staff. Excellent service. Tasty fresh food (catch of the day fish and arrabbiata pasta were excellent). Great cocktails even in a teapot if wish to share. Reasonably priced. Okay, the chicken I had was over cooked. Apart from that, 5 stars. Service was awesome, friendly staff that clearly take pride in their trade. Great variety of ales, warm fire and just a decent atmosphere. Stayed at a nearby hotel that had an empty bar and restaurant. I’ll take the PO over the Hotel any day.

Found this spot while staying at an airport hotel. They were having a private function so if you go when they aren’t having one you might enjoy it a little more than we did. We had the wings, and the Mac and cheese balls. Food was standard but good and they did their best to service us while the party was happening. Give them a try is you are in the area.

I found this place by mistake when driving by two days ago. I liked it so much. That I went yesterday, too. The outdoor fairy lights looked pretty, so I went in. I was pleasantly suprised when I walked in as the original details of the post office has been restored and/or upgraded while keeping the character of the building. The character details throughout are beautiful and definitely make a point of difference compared to any other establishment I've visited in NZ. Not only does this place just look different inside and out, the food and the service doesn't let it down. The menu offers original classics, and other modern fare. It feels like the owner and/or manager really got it right when selecting a menu as there's so many options for everyone. As it was 8, I only ordered fries and popcorn chicken. But I'll definitely come back to try other food. Now the best part - some of the best service I've ever experienced before, anywhere!! All the aspects of the place are just getting nailed. And I look forward to coming back.

Had an awesome experience here, if ur looking for a place to have a function this place will be it, esp with big family’s. The garden area is perfect for children while the adults are inside, the staff are so helpful and willing to make sure you have a great time with all demands answered too. I absolutely love the Post Office Public House. We arrived just in time to relish the stunning garden view before sunset. The catch of the day left nothing to be desired, but our steak, which we had ordered medium-rare, arrived slightly overcooked. However, the mushroom sauce that accompanied it was nothing short of exquisite, elevating the already delightful meal. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service efficient, and the overall experience was worth every penny!

A for service. The meal was pleasant but arrived extremely quickly which tells me it was prepared prior. Tuesday night special normally $27 on special for $25 inclusive of a drink. The bun was cold and the cheese was processed cheddar. The surroundings were nice however the place needs a huge clean. The ceiling air filter was filthy. Lights windows and frames are filthy. Honestly, you open at 11 am Why not have the team clean set areas prior?

I had an awesome experience for my early 21st birthday celebration. It is an excellent place for functions and enjoying good quality food in a timely manner. Hence my sirloin steak dish & chicken wings were delicious. The beverages were a bonus which nicely accompanied my meal. All staff, including their manager were upbeat, professional and friendly. I would deffinately go again.

Service was great. Eye Fillet dish - steak, mashed potato and sauce was absolute deliciousness, veges not needed. Chicken Breast dish - chicken and veges were plain with no seasoning, spicy sauce on the side was the only flavour added to the dish. Recommend Eye Fillet with mash, gravy, mushrooms with no veges. Sweet Tooth desert was amaZingly srumptious! 6.00pm, 31.01.20.

The staff here are super friendly, the seating and set-up is nice. Unfortunately both of our meals came with cold fries, the waitress brought some hot ones out however we were half way through our meals by then. The meals are very well priced but the portion sizes are incredibly small. I would not eat here again in a hurry, it seems more suitable for pub snacks and drinks not a sit down meal. We ordered the pulled pork burrito and pan fried fish.

Fantastic outdoor, maybe need a bit more shade as certain times that hot sun can really burn. Amazing service and the cocktails were the best! Nibbles shoestring fries were delightful as well. Highly recommend

Not bad a bit hot in the outdoor garden area, could possibly do with raising the ceiling or planting some deciduous trees so you get light in winter and shade in summer!

We visited as a group of 30 this week and had a great experience! Dee and her team were amazing to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb (the sharing platters and Kumara Wedges were to die for!). They had a good selection of drinks which were really well priced. The venue was very cool and we loved the garden area!! Thanks team!! Watch this space because will be back!!

Nice atmosphere, unfortunately seemed under staffed, had to go and ask staff if they could come and take our order after being sat down for 20mins, then had to ask where our drinks were after our food came out and the people next to us that arrived a good 10-15mins after us got their drinks before us…then had to also ask if we could order desert another good 20mins after we had finished our mains. Food was fine just disappointing with the level of service and the time the service took.

Fresh fish meals x2. Absolutely the best fish meals we have had for years in a restaurant. Great service. We used as stayed at Jet park for travel overseas and wanted a good dinner and drinks. An enjoyable dinner. Very fresh!

What an awesome chilled vibe and experience. Came here years ago and the service and atmosphere is still top notch for the hidden area its in. The bathrooms honestly smelt devine!! Happy to return anytime of the day. Hospitality was great as the hosts remembered all our orders and how we liked our drinks. Bar snacks all came in a timely manner and were all super tasty. They have a pool table thats well serviced.

Chilled out relaxed atmosphere. Great catching up with a group of friends. Large tables too. Food and drinks spot on. About 10 of us no one was left waiting. We got really good service.

This is a great place to go for a lovely meal. We were waiting for friends to arrive at the airport and this is a great location to do this, as we sat in comfort, with food and drink, relaxing until our friends were able to let us know when they were ready to get picked up. We were only 5 minutes away and then brought them back for dinner. The staff at the Post Office Public House were so friendly and helpful. We were able to order our meals before we went to the airport and they were ready shortly after we returned. Thanks to Janet - who really does have a lovely smile and all the staff for a very enjoyable evening.

We went for our lunch as a team cos I work in the airport area this was our last lunch together for the year since some were finishing yesterday 21/12/2022. Food was ok I did like the seafood fettuccine was a good deal, the lunchtime special Wednesdays is the seafood fettuccine and I also had french fries. Nice atmosphere like the setting is nice. My only complaint is fix your oven would have been nice to have garlic bread accompanied with pasta. Also the service was good but didn't like how we couldn't split the bill as we normally have in the past they said they were only taking one payment which was hoha because we had different orders but yeah give it a try it's good for their $15 lunch deals.

Food is pricey for their portions but still tastes great. You might need to go to McDonald's after to get full. Service was great but they ran out of pitchers and there were no TVs outside so we couldn't watch the rugby game. The atmosphere made it feel relaxing and easy going.

This place is absolutely amazing, the food was absolute perfection, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was unreal. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely loved it.

Judging by the other reviews, we must have caught this place on a bad night. Our table of 5 was seated quickly, the place was not that busy, only 5 to 10 tables with people. We mentioned to the waitress that the table was quite sticky, so the waitress went and got a cloth and wiped 2 sides of the 4 sided table. Missing quite a bit. She then came back with a tea kettle of water, which was a nice touch. But she didn't hang around to ask about any drinks order. About ten minutes later she returned with a bunch of menus and only then asked about drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine to share and a beer. We received our wine and beer. And ordered food. Two x catch of the day, two x lamb shanks, and one steak. Food came out pretty quickly, but maybe that was a bad thing. The steak was good. The fish smelt really badly of fish. It might have been the catch of the day, but it certainly wasn't a recent day, definitely not fresh. The lamb shanks were seriously undercooked. Still pink near the bone. Lamb shanks should be slow cooked, and the meat should fall off the bone. I had the shank, and eating this meal was a fight! Had to leave a fair bit of meat on the bone as I didn't want to go caveman style. When we were all finished we had to ask for our table to be cleared of the plates, as the empty fish plates were still quite pungent. The decor and ambience was pleasant enough, but the staff were really inattentive, we would have likely had another few drinks easily if we were asked/offered. As it was, we went back to our hotel and used the bar there. Based on the meals and the service we received, I couldn't recommend this place. Maybe we chose poorly, as the table behind us ordered ribs and they came out smelling amazing and we heard noises of pleasure from the table. And the steak was pretty good.
