The airport that serves New Zealand’s biggest city. Has improved its facilities and eatery options during the Covid period. But could still be one of the least impressive airports among developed countries. I wonder why so little has been done during the quiet Covid period. Definitely not a good first impression for tourists.

Arriving into the international airport was a very unpleasant experience. The arrival section was old, understaffed, and inefficient. Queues were long and slow moving. Poor airport layout, old, and dim lighting. Took us about 2 hours overall to get out of the airport. Disappointed by the taxi service from airport to city. I didn't expect to have to negotiate prices at Auckland airport, although the prices on display is apparently old and outdated. Just not the kind of first impression I was expecting. You are better off hiring a car n driving yourself to your accommodation! Departure was a much better experience and on par with other international airport.

Not like what it used to be before covid. Most of the shops still remain closed. Less options for food. Construction work has been going for a long time they should finish it fast.

While Auckland might be a wonderful city to explore, the gateway to it that is the airport could only be described as a huge disappointment. Despite the friendly staff like all lovely Kiwis, the infrastructure simply wasn't up to standards. With endless long queues through quarantine inspections, cramped baggage conveyer belts to the weird lack of restrooms, the experience was absolutely terrible. For departing passengers, things are even worse. Checkin counters in AKL open at a mere three hours before departure, even for business class passengers. For those who arrive early, this means a lengthy wait at the concourse. With the only two lifts that reach level 2 (where the shops are located ) "banning" luggage trollies, travellers have very limited space to relax. Hopefully they will fix these issues with the incoming upgrades and offer travellers a better gateway to the beautiful country that is Mew Zealand.

The biggest and busiest airport in New Zealand. Smart design. Bright, good ambience. Clean and quiet. Very well managed and maintained. Efficient security, customs and immigration staff and facilities. Good variety of services and facilities. Restaurants and Cafe's, lounges, local handicrafts, gift and souvenir shops, travel accessories, duty free with major brands available, and much more. Clear signs everywhere. Information desks. Clean and comfortable seating in waiting areas. Friendly and helpful staff.

Easy drop off area. No travelators to help with long walks to gates or from gates. Most shops are still closed or close early. Exiting via customs e-passport was very easy and there was little line. The security going into departure was amazing and so efficient the line kept moving. So impressed with the security process and seating area after to re pack your things.

The airport is good and has a lot of stuff. It's clean and well maintained. But if you are arriving at night then all the shops and restaurants are closed and they only open after 5 AM. The Domestic Airport is also closed and opens only early in the morning. There is no place to rest at night and it was terrifying. Hardly any people there and we have to sleep on chairs or get a spread and sleep on the floors.

Modern airport with modem facilities. It has everything you need. One improvement point is to have more weighing machines - there’s only 2 i believe in the international airport. It will be more efficient to have another one. This will prevent large queues forming. The walk from car rental drop off is a bit long (somewhere between 5-10 min walk) but max 10 mins.

A great international airport, small in comparison to many. Easy to park in 'shortstay' with a 5-6 minute walk to the terminal. Or there are helpful staff directing drivers in the drop off/pick up zone. A good spacious and airy food hall upstairs with a few shops. Its very easy to find your way around whether youre flying in or out, dropping off or picking up.

Perfect place where to spent the time before a departure or during the layover. A lot of options how to find almost everything. Souvenirs, food, drinks, or even some places for relax or nap. Some of the restaurants have also the observation deck with wide windows so if you are a airplane spotter, then you will definitely love it.

Arriving at Auckland Airport is one of the most tedious experiences I have ever encountered. After passing through immigration, you proceed to the baggage claim where you have to choose between the red or green declaration channels. Despite most people opting for the red channel, you still end up in baggage claim. Following a lengthy wait for baggage, you then navigate through a line where you meet with a quarantine official who assigns you a number based on what you need to declare. The process seems overly convoluted. While I understand New Zealand's strict quarantine requirements, I believe the process should be streamlined. The lines are excessively long, and the quarantine area isn't the most welcoming. Unfortunately, it didn't leave a great first impression of New Zealand. Departing from NZ is also time-consuming, with lengthy security and immigration lines. There are limited shops after immigration, and the gates are too widely spaced apart.

Better set up when lining up to declare or undeclared bags. There's about roughly 10ish desk but the queue allocation was a mess there was like 3 lines maybe 6 lines and people didn't know which desk to go to. Better allocation to each desk will be great.

Auckland Airport is the largest and busiest airport in New Zealand, with over 20+ million passengers in a year. The airport is located near Māngere, a residential suburb, and Airport Oaks, a service hub suburb 21 kilometres (13 mi) south of the Auckland city centre. It is both a domestic and international hub for Air New Zealand, and the New Zealand hub of Jetstar.

Great Airport. Easy check in and bag drop, streamlined security, well priced and convenient (but not too lengthy) duty free shopping, and airy, large, easy-to-navigate halls to the gates. Nice seating at gates and beautiful wood ceilings in the walkways. Really friendly and helpful employees here, one of the best airport experiences I have had.

Arrived after a long haul flight from SFO at 7:00am. Initial passport control was fairly quick with e-gates. I was worried that one in our group had a NZeTA that was pending but they never asked about it. The status changed to issued two days after our arrival. Once you collect your bags there are two lines to join for the biohazard inspection. items to declare and nothing to declare. The ground staff advised us that 14 aircraft arrived that morning and the lines were long. We had chocolate bars so we joined the “items to declare line”. It didn’t seem to matter which line you joined. They asked the same questions and they all moved at the same pace. It took just under an hour to get through the line and after we declared the chocolate bar we walked straight through the inspection area. There are dogs near the exit who check each passenger for contraband items as you walk by. They seems to be short staffed as many of the inspection booths had no personnel at them. Definitely plan on 1 1/2 hours to get through the process if you arrive on an early morning flight from overseas.

Beautiful airport in appearance and service, but bad in terms of waiting. It is unthinkable for customers to wait more than an hour to enter after a travel trip, poor organization.

This is the international airport of this (big, little) city. It is possible to get here via public train or bus. Generally, I take the public train which takes me to the Puhinui train station and then I jump on the Airport Link which takes passengers to the domestic or international terminal. There is an airport upgrade happening at the moment so lots of roadworks and be prepared for detours. The international terminal is 24/7 which is great but this doesn't mean that all the stores, eateries, exchange kiosks, etc. are also 24/7. Pretty good airport but would be ideal if the domestic and international terminals were connected either underground or by monorail so that travellers don't have to deal with traffic. There needs to be more amenities for travellers with really long layovers e.g. pool, gym, spa, sleep zones. Departure area is pretty good with a couple of duty free retailers and a range of other retailers. Air conditioning could be amped up all round (especially during summer). I like that there are lifts and a few scales to weigh luggage before checking in.

Auckland Airport is a great international airport with a refurbished interior. Although the entrance is currently undergoing renovations, the inside of the airport is modern and offers a wide range of restaurants and shops where you can enjoy browsing. For those staying near the airport, the partner hotels provide a complimentary yellow bus service, and the drivers are friendly and accommodating. While there is no direct bus to the city for arrivals, the convenience of the airport's amenities and transportation options make it a favorable choice for travelers. Despite the temporary construction, Auckland Airport maintains a positive and pleasant atmosphere for passengers! Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Public transport: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shop and restaurant: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍

Great signage, great toilet facilities, great selection of shopping, and eateries. Very modern and only getting better. Parking is a real issue at the moment though.

Touchdown on our first leg, transit via an interconnecting flight to Christchurch from Auckland. Quite a bit messy for us as we have not been travelling much in the last 5 years. Supposed to just transfer luggage to domestic departure end up realise we had to check in ourselves too. Almost got hung up at customs due to some issues and potentially missed our flight.

Easy to find your way around. The gate number is available only 1 hour before boarding, interesting if it is not a way to have the passengers spending and shopping more as at the gates area there are no shops.

Most up-to-date airport I’ve seen in awhile. Boarding pass and barcode for checked in bags gets printed by a smart machine. TSA is all automated with machines , the trays to stow carry-ons is automated. Huge duty-free shopping and an assortment of bar and restaurants to indulge in. Big Thumbs up Auckland.

The kiwi officers are always quite friendly that made you feel welcome. And a efficiency process. Currently, Free RAT is provided for all passengers to do their own testing with clear instructions.

Immigration staff, absolutely wonderful. They're down to earth and they can take a joke. The airport itself is well maintained, tidy and a very easy flow from parking all the way to the gates. A wide enough range of food to keep the all kids happy but probably not enough for the Americans (#shotsfired) Seating was a little slim especially around gates 40s but then again you don't have to be there for too long. None the less, penty of setting in the dining areas and you've got a panoramic view of the airstrips. It's a great place to sit back, down a cold one (or hot one) and watch the planets land and take off. It was an absolute great end to Kiwi Holliday.

For a small airport, they have thoroughly thought about the traveler's needs. After you clear security and enter the duty-free area, there are plenty of seats to sit back and enjoy food from the food court. The seats are comfortable, and most have options for charging and plugging your laptops.

Thanks so much for making my kids 1st ever flight a great one, helpful staff both at the airport and on the plane. Sunflower lanyards were useful in making staff aware of their hidden disability. Smooth, fast, easy processing, many thanks.

Been through Auckland International Airport now a few times, overall a pretty good airport. Staff are friendly, Airport nice and open with a good layout, and there is also a QANTAS lounge for those Australians flying! Airport itself is around a 30 minute run from the Auckland CBD.

I like Auckland airport (international). It’s a bit busy but very organized. There’s a weighing scale near the entrance. The ground crew are so nice and not snobbish. Very clean including the toilets. I think the architecture is planned well. You enter, check in and bag drop, go to second floor and eat with your loved ones before you enter the main departure area and immigration, etc. along the way the shops are there and every staff are friendly and helpful. Signs at the airport are accurate. Boarding gates are nice with charging ports and comfy seats. One of my favorite airports I must say.

3 stars as it’s nothing exciting but an average airport, cleanliness is 100% better than Brisbane airport which is great for New Zealand 🇳🇿 nice and modern with everything you need and a few shops to look at..most staff are helpful and friendly and overall experience is not bad at all. Some parts take a long time to get through because of the amount of people but that’s to be expected. Smoking areas around which are easily accessible.

Quick, comfortable and good eateries. Fast and easy checkin and checkout. Helpful staff around. Never had any issues after arrival and during departures. Friendly and welcoming. Thank you for making the arrival and most of all the departures which is hardest so simple and comfortable. 👍🙏 🦋🌸🦋🌸🦋🌸

Simple airport but very thoughtful, had farewell section and a lot place to eat . If you fly late please enjoy some hot food . Shop options not much , hope can improve. Most people will spend more than one hour here after check in , need to be more luxurious brand and more selection .
