Have been to the dragonfly several times and decided to go today for their new festive menu. Started off well with the starters of pate and soup but then had to wait an age for the mains. My partners came first and mine a while after. When they did arrive (with no gravy) they were lukewarm at best and by the time the server got the gravy to us they were both stone cold. Had to leave most of the veg as we couldn't cut through the carrots and the sprouts were like bullets. Only saving grace were the parsnips which were cooked perfectly. I had the beef which was nice but as I said cold. My partner had the trio of meat but could only eat the turkey as the rest was cold and tough. We weren't the only ones who found the food cold as two tables around us sent some food back whilst we were waiting. Really disappointed in our visit this time as we have always enjoyed going there and never had a problem with our food before. Other than that where we sat in the bar just wasn't very clean to be honest. The windowsills were bogging and there were splashes of what looked like gravy up the wall and woodwork. At least we could park so suppose that was a positive.

Appearance of a food and a pictures are good, but... they using ready products, cheap quality like bun served with lasagne is simply frozen dough from any supermarket ready to bake. Going through meals I did kinda liked the taste but lasagne was bland, same with arancini, topping it up that between main meal and dessert I was waiting almost 40minutes, and waiter had time to walk around and whistle his favourite songs, place looks like no-one cares, things are outdated, dirty. I thought dessert will save it but no, spent £30 and not happy at all. Even haven't heard appolegies for wait, just simple excuse "I didn't know you were ready" when I've put my all dishes together to the corner of the table, sat with literally nothing in there waiting, it was quiet in restaurant (Wed 13:00). Putting it short, semi ready products, dirty place, lack of interest, unprofessional behaviour. I've used to order from there through delivery app but knowing what's inside the restaurant, never gonna happen again. They must be based on a hotel next door customers who don't really have big choice in the area to go.

Very good experience. The place was welcoming, clean and very well maintained. Had gone for an evening meal and ordered a starter, drink and mains. Not expensive - value for money. They do serve alcohol, have seen kids. Also have few parking places. Must recommend.

Nice pub grub in a pleasant country inn. A star knocked off because of the limited range of options, food was slow to arrive and it was burning hot when it did arrive.

We had an excellent fine dining in very beautiful and friendly place. We got here almost by case from our trip from the coast to the Midlands and we were really pleased with the food and service. I had the Seared fillets of seabass and my wife the Beef and Chianti Casserole, two well presented and delicious dishes. I surely recommend and I hope I can come back soon.

This is by far the worst dining experience!! After reading your reviews and your responses that are repeating how you are ‘sorry’ people are having terrible experiences and your actually ruining people’s Christmas’ how you ‘strive to do better’ and ‘take our negative comments onboard and improve’ What you should actually do is shut your doors and put your poor staff out of their misery, reopen when you’re not understaffed and your chef can produce some tidy food. Not only is the food terrible but the place is filthy. I’ve seen cleaner toilets in nightclubs in my teenage years. Health and safety would have a field day in here!!

We would agree with previous reviews, overpriced and shockingly small portions, and unhelpful service. We asked to have our table cleared, no one came, so in the end we and the table next to us had to carry dirty plates and serviettes to another area of the bar. Then we ordered - sea bass (overly cooked) was served with 3 small potatoes of the size of a pound, and two small bits of broccoli. When we questioned this we were told it was the standard portion they would give. I wish we would have taken a picture of this at the time. We asked for more potatoes, which we got, but with no apology or smile from the staff. Then we asked 3 times for the pudding to be served, on the second ask we were told it was being done, (this was a bowl of ice cream), 45 min later and seeing the kitchen staff hanging around the bar, we understood there was really no wish to be helpful or service minded or even to smile or having a wish to be pleasant were absent. So good for drinks, but I would say don't bother with food! The ambience is good, and it is dog friendly, but we left feeling disappointed.

1.5 hours to receive food , following a complaint….. Wow, this place was amazing when it first opened many years ago, today? Forget it, food was dire, steak was inedible and returned, served again after another 20 mins, same inedible food… informed by a member of staff ‘it’s the cut’… this was a sirloin, couldn’t cut it or chew it… chips were freezing cold… avoid, avoid , avoid…. Honestly didn’t believe somewhere this bad could stay open for business, McDonald’s is better and cheaper
