Ordered a small chips with a LITTLE extra chicken salt as usually places don’t give you enough. The amount of chicken salt that had been put on them was absolutely disgusting and ridiculous. Waited 45 minutes for a small chips that were inedible by four chips in. The fact that the owner by the looks of it can’t take an honest review is hilarious and just egotistical. The counter service was fine but the girls behind that were screaming out unnecessarily and not even about the orders. The chips did in fact take 45 minutes and were not out out first as you say “if it’s just chips they come out first”. Thanks. :)

I have never tasted fish so horrible in my life and im not even fussy with my food and im never a jaren but oh my goshhh , never have i complained about vellas but the fish was horrible it made me sick , the calamari is not ment to be mooshy , batter wouldnt even stay on the calamari , prawn cutlets were soggy and raw , and homebrand tomato sauce doesnt even taste like there tomato sauce , never again will i go here , and i will be telling my family and friends , the fact we spent 50 dollars on small chips 2 pieces of fish 2 prawn cutlets and 6 squidrings , ridiculous.

The following are things potential customers need to know may happen when visiting this store: 1) You could be waiting 40 mins+ for a simple order. 2) There was a long strand of blonde hair in my food. 3) Absolutely no salt whatsoever on my chips. 4) Did not pack the order correctly (missing food). This was my unfortunate experience and I am making others aware should they order here. Personally, I do not recommend. EDIT: I assure you this is not a false review as the owner claimed. Dismissing reviews as false is deplorable. Do better.

Absolutely loved food, fish woz fresh wit delicious batter, could tell the oil woz clean, chips were yummy as, alot of people ordering but didnt wait long at all. Good service.

Ideally I’d give it 3.5 stars. Nothing particularly bad, just a bit lacking in flavour. Perhaps I would ask for more salt next time. The portion size is good and the price is very reasonable. Friendly staff too 😊 Thanks!

Asked what fish they were serving today and settled for the “Red Throat”…Received some other aquatic organisms that were pre cooked in the sun for a few days

Best fish 'n chips I've had in years. Crunchy batter, lovely Spanish mackerel, chips were crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy inside. They tasted of POTATO.

For a little convenience store, this place is awesome! We stopped here to grab a bite to eat, after a long road trip, coz we were craving chips and gravy...with 10 mins till closing...they still were happy to take our order and cooked us up a delicious feast, even brought it out to our car! Thank you, and ps. the chips were fantastic 😋

Order was completely mixed up. Husband ordered works burger no sauce and got burger with mince, bacon and egg, with bbq sauce and no salad. I ordered mince burger with egg and bbq sauce. Got the burger right but no sauce. Won't be back as you can't get a simple order right. And she wrote it down on order pad.

Ordered 2 fish , not flake and whole lemon , recieved 1 fish (flake ) , 1-8 lemon slice , never again

Very poor customer service. Rang and ordered $5 chips and 6 potato scallops they said it will be 20 mins, got there in 25, and waited nearly an hour for the food to be ready. Added a 1.25l bottle of coke and a pop top juice and all up cost me $30 couldn't believe it. The potato scallops were tiny and hard like cardboard. Will never return back there.

Honestly the best fish and chips in town. Not as busy as the one in town, so it’s always super fast and has that classic Vella’s taste.

Since when did potato scallops cost $2.50 each??? Very over priced and weren't even nice. Barely any potato in them. Won't go there ever again
