I am a very cultured person from southern GA and this is the first time I ever felt so offended I got up and left before eating. This environment did not feel people of color friendly. The owner had the waiter come warn us the price of our top shelf drinks was $38 per cocktail, before he poured. The way she stuttered through the delivery to two young poc made me cringe. I couldn't spend a dollar when I knew we ordered two market priced entrees! Not once did we ask the price of anything, so why did he have her come warn us of the price of some don julio?

We had Ms. Erica as our server. She was amazing off top. Friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. The best service I have had in a while. The charcuterie board was nice. The french onion dip was warm and smoky. The crab cakes were not the best but they were good. The flavor got lost a bit. The bread was nicely toasted on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. We waited quite a bit for our main entrées. The table behind us came later but got their food first. The Elk was tender and flavorful. The green beans were overly seasoned with black pepper. One set of asparagus were almost mush and cold. The other were cooked perfectly and hot. The Cigar Bar was sweet and aromatic. It was a pleasant smoke smell. Great night! The only issue was parking and finding the building. It is literally down an alley, so be careful and drive slowly or you will miss it. They do not have a separate parking just for them. They have a valet but it is tied in with Dovetails restaurant parking.

A hidden gem in Macon. The service, the ambiance and the delicious steak were all a huge surprise. I was glad the wait at Longhorns was 40 minutes. This was so much better. UPDATE: I posted this 5 years ago. Last night, I visited this restaurant again. I assure you, it is still one of the best steakhouse in the state of Georgia. From cheese platter to Ribeye steak, mashed potatoes and mushrooms all were delicious. Our server Jordan was top notch. I described well-done outside red inside.. she said Pittsburgh style.. not many servers in Georgia knows that.. chef nailed it.. juicy with nice crust.. best steak I highly recommend this awesome restaurant.

Did not have a great experience. The waitress stumbled over the specials... which okay I get it... but the one I decided on they were out of. So why offer it as a special?? Then when we finally got our meal, the elk and New York strip both medium rare, they were basically raw on the inside just blackened on the outside... needed a chainsaw to cut them! I couldn't even eat mine and had to take it home and recook it. When I showed the waitress she just asked if I wanted a box. My boyfriend ordered the same drink 3 times, each time coming out completely different... 1st time great, second time not so great. ordered a third time hoping the second was fluke... third came out so strong it wasn't even enjoyable. I wanted a cup of coffee but they were out of coffee. come on now... we ate dinner at 7:30 so how is it that you are already out of a special and coffee?? Tired 3 salt shakers and none of them worked. That's just weird. The meal was not cheap and to leave dissatisfied... not okay. For the price point- I suggest Dovetail.

This place was a great find. It's hidden away in a valley behind the Mulberry street businesses. The restaurant was cute and cozy and the service was impeccable. I ordered the duck with pesto mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach and my husband got the aged ribeye with the same sides. We ordered the crab cakes they were small but good, they did have a slight fishy taste too then which wasn't great, but didn't completely turn me off. My food was cooked perfectly it was absolutely delicious, I wish I would have gotten more mashed potatoes they were the best I've EVER had. My husband said the aged rib eye was good, but maybe a little hyped up. But overall the entire experience was great!

Although we totally screwed up when booking our reservation, the hostess was very kind and was able to get us seated within 10 minutes on a very busy night. Our server was exceptional. She eloquently explained all the specials and made very good recommendations from the menu. We had the lamb chops and elk... the lamb chops were great and the elk was AMAZING. This dining experience is worth every dime.

The food, service, and atmosphere were beyond amazing! I loved my crab cakes and the bouillabaisse broth and seafood were divine. Extra tip, get extra bread to dip into the broth. Soooo great! I also had the chocolate chip bread pudding and let's just say, I took an extra order to go. I would definitely recommend that you try this please at least once. Amazing, amazing, amazing! I made a reservation and we arrived a few minutes before they opened but they let us in to set at the bar while we waited, old fashion drinks, a book of wines, and beer of course. Our bartender/ mixologist was Great and very fun/funny. Will definitely be back! Even if I just go back for the chocolate chip bread pudding, lol

My husband and I came for our first wedding anniversary and the atmosphere was perfect, low lit, candle light and calm. The food was fabulous, and the service was even better. Shannon did an amazing job with letting us know every special and was just wonderful to have serving us.

My wife and I have been here three times now and it has become our favorite date night spot in Middle Georgia. Both the food and the service are always exceptional. The dry aged Ribeye is to die for. The blackened New York Strip may be my favorite. My wife loves the Filet. The Sea Scallops were also cooked to perfection. Dylan took good care of us on our last visit. We can't wait to come back!! I highly recommend!!

Megan was an excellent waitress! She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and the specials of the evening. She gave great recommendations that I thoroughly enjoyed. 10/10 food and even better service, I will definitely be returning.

Second time eating here - so yummy! We are new years - My steak was under cooked - but they quickly fixed it.

My wife and I arrived a little after 5, were seated right away, and our waitress came right over. She took our drink and appetizer order and brought this within 5-10 minutes. We ordered our food around 5:45, sat back and enjoyed our cheese platter and a bottle of wine. We continued to watch as larger tables around us, that were seated after us, got their food and enjoyed their meal. It was obvious to our waitress that we are getting worried about time. My wife and I had tickets to an event at 7:30, and we believed two hours for dinner would be plenty of time. She never came back to the table to explain any delays or to check on us. Around 7:00, my wife finally got her attention, and asked what was going on. She said that the manager told the kitchen to push the larger tables to get them out of here, leaving the smaller parties paying the price with delays. We asked her to cancel the meal, because we wouldn't have time to enjoy it. She apologized as my wife went to find the manager at the bar. The manager showed no interest in speaking with my wife. He continued to make drinks and serve others as she was trying to speak to him. She even said that it seemed like he didn't care about what she had to say, and his only response was, "I'm really busy." The worst part of the whole night was not that we didn't get to eat, it was the dismissal of a manager of an establishment that we have been going to for over fifteen years. It's very embarrassing that he is associated with this establishment.

My husband and I just had dinner tonight. Our server Sierra(sp) was fabulous. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Made sure we were taken care of without hovering over us. A very enjoyable evening and meal.

The food here is always amazing. My husband had the dry aged ribeye, which was tender and so flavorful. I had the Boullabaise, which includes mussels, shrimp, scallops, and mahi mahi. The seafood was incredible and the broth was delicious and perfectly balanced. Our cocktails were also wonderful...I had a blue cheese olive gin martini and my husband had the King Cole. Highly recommend.

Hard to Find – But Worth It. Hidden in an alley, looking like a speakeasy is a great restaurant and bar. The fried artichoke starter is not a crispy rendition, rather bathed in an interesting sauce. The duck was cooked just right, as was the filet. The sides are noteworthy: cheese grits, mushrooms, and spinach. The bartender is not only a skilled mixologist, but knows the food preparation secrets, which he shared with me. We’ll be routing ourselves through Macon whenever possible to eat here.

A really great experience. Downtown Grill has a speakeasy vibe to it. Located in an alleyway, you enter the restaurant through their cigar bar. The service was exemplary. I had Filet with grilled Sea scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. The button mushrooms and the cheese grits souffle were delicious. I finished my meal with a Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding drizzled peanut butter bourbon. It was amazing.

Exquisite dining experience. We took our granddaughter & her friends for her 21st birthday. Very nice, especially with Aleigha as our server. The elk, lamb, steak, & fish were amazing as were the appetizers.

My husband and I came to celebrate my birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Erica, our server, is a gem! She was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. The food and cocktails were great! We had the specials (ahi tuna and the charcuterie board) and both were executed well. It was also Wine Wednesday, and we got to enjoy some wines at a really great price.

The service was the best I've had in a long time and the food was very good. Everything was done perfectly from my drink to the entree and side dishes. The atmosphere was also nice. This place could be a nice date spot or somewhere you could get a drink while in town for work. I'll definitely be going back.

Tonight was my first time eating at Downtown Grill and it was wonderful! I loved the atmosphere as well as the service. Our server’s name was Sarah and she was great and very knowledgeable of the menu. I had the fillet with lobster sides with sautéed spinach and almond green beans. It was all cooked and seasoned perfectly. We also enjoyed a hybrid charcuterie board with meats and cheeses. Hope to go back very soon!

One of the higher priced fine dining places in Macon. My medium steak came more medium well the medium, but still tasted good. I really liked the broccoli it was seasoned and cooked just how I like it, still just a slight crisp to it. Would have been nice to have two sprigs instead of the one they give you. I thought the grit soufflé waffle with shrimp was very tasty. Service was a bit slow, but thats becoming the norm with Covid it seems. It would also be nice if they could move the cigar lounge to upstairs instead of right when you enter. All in all a good experience. Ill be back for sure.

Perfect date night spot. They have amazing food and the staff has always been fantastic as well! When we moved from Augusta we'd been looking for a spot similar to our favorite up there. This surpasses it!

Went for dinner here with my family last night and, oh my God, EVERYTHING was amazing. We started with a special appetizer: shrimp and grits waffle. Yummy! The meals ordered were the (1) tomato cream pasta with shrimp, (2) trout special, (3) bass special, and (4) aloha ribeye steak. The sides were the green beans with slivered almonds, pesto mashed potatoes, cheese grits, and mushrooms [get these]. Delicious, delicious, delicious! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate bread pudding and the Snickers cheesecake. Good lord, the staff here can really cook and bake!! Our server, Aaliyah, was a gem. Very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. %100 recommend
