Nice clean park. An easy 1.5 mile trail around the lake and about a mile around the marsh. Nice area to stretch your legs or stop for a picnic if passing through. Maybe not worth a special trip though

Last March, I planned on staying there for TWO WEEKS on my trip home from snowbirding, working my way back to Wisconsin. When I got there, NOBODY else was around! No director/manager/ host etc. etc. And no other campers, either. I found my site after looking long and hard. It was "supposed" to be near the washrooms, but I'd have to cross a 40 ft ravine down and up to get there, or walk a mile "around" the loop on the road. Being there by myself and sooooo isolated really creeped me out! My only setting up was to unhook my camper (and one of the few nights I've ever locked it when sleeping!) I decided to leave by 8 am the next morning. When I called reservations.com where I had made my reservation (and pre-pay, by the way!) I was told they no longer handled that park. I was to call (???) in Illinois who were in charge of the reservations now. I was told then (the guy was very nice, by the way) I would receive a refund for the time I didn't stay, minus the day and time to cancel clause. I "would get my refund in 3-4 weeks"... 4 MONTHS LATER, I still have NOT GOTTEN MY REFUND! It may be a nice camp in the summer, but for me it was a horrible experience. I've learned too often outside people who book the reservations have no idea what the park layout truly is!

Bait shop and restaurant are closed and no more boat rentals. Fishing is still ok from the last trip with some nice blue gils and decent channel cat. Fish cleaning station is closed or damaged but is fenced off and not usable. I think the bathrooms are still opened just not sure.

really dope place. Great hiking, one trail went completely around the lake, so constant views. Camping area looked updated and maintained. Pet friendly! Boat ramp for fishing boats.

I like the park. Walking around, hiking, site seeing all are enjoyable. If you're hungry, the food selection is poor. Restaurant workers are just to eager to leave. Twice we visited and arrived approximately 15 minutes before closing and were told they were closed! Next time we'll bring our own food for sure.

We really enjoy going here. There's different things to do like fishing, boating, hiking, camping, or just having a picnic with the family. Plenty of places to roam and enjoy nature and your family.

Great 2 mile hike around the lake. Quiet lake and not too far off the freeway for a detour to a State Park.

One of our favorite parks to go camping at! The campground host is friendly and the spots are always clean.

My go to piece of Heaven in Illinois. Camped here for a few years and cherish every moment I get to spend here. The RV camp is perfectly managed and the services are without compare. The rates are so competitive... if I could leave my RV here all season as a second home I would! Just this morning the camp ground manager knocked on my door to check and make sure we had everything we needed and offered us a recycle bag for aluminum cans. That is just excellent service and true compassion for the environment. Well done in all regards!

I hadn't been here in thirty years but not much had changed and for a campground, that's not a bad thing. They seem to have added (or, I didn't notice it as a teenager) an archery area so.. value added.

Camp sites are packed really close, but other than that it was a very nice campground.
