A brisk Tuesday here beats a warm day in the office. Nice trails to explore and everything is marked so you know where you are and the length of your walk. Only downside is the sounds of traffic. Saw a blue Jay and tons of squirrels. There is a portapotty on site.

This was a pleasant surprise! We came because I was really in the need for a nature walk, and the Forest Trail was really lovely. We got caught up halfway feeding the squirrels which was super fun. I’d definitely come back for a walk here if I was in the area.

Lovely canopy of trees. Incredible fully accessible path. Serene and perfect. The storybook trail was so inventive and sweet. Perfect place to take small children. Well taken care of.

Beautiful and well kept trail that is very easily navigated. Lovely in the fall. Fun story along one trail for kids. Some art set up by the Detroit Institute of Art. In the way of wildlife, we saw squirrels and deer. There are also benches set along the trail.

This is the first nature center in the area that we found that allows our dog. Also the asphalt keeps you out of the mud and it’s easy on your feet if you jog. We find it such a serene and quiet place to get away from all the stress that many of us are facing right now with COVID-19.

Window smashed in with a rock in the parking lot. White male, about 5'10" beard possibly homeless blonde/strawberry blonde hair. I enjoyed the walk through the park, but unfortunately this was my first and last time coming.

I quite liked it here and if I lived closer I would visit more often. The 3 trails are quite short in my opinion but everything is very well kept. Also there are a ton of deer I was shocked with how many I saw! An easy walk but nice scenery

It's close by and convenient. My wife had a stroke, and needed exercise to get her back to normal. We have enjoyed taking those walks at the nature center. Often the Cardinals or Blue Jays will drop by and give us something pretty to look at. Sparrows, robins and starlings are frequent companions. Squirrels and chipmunks let us watch them until we get too close for comfort, then take off up a tree or into a burrow. Occasionally deer and other animals drop by to quietly share the park. Sometimes I see the Nature Center called Friendship Woods, which fits. Everyone from park employees to others enjoying it with us seem to be friendly and polite. It's a favorite place for us.

A lovely paved trail in a well-kept nature center provides a respite in the middle of the suburbs. It's a short, flat trail, perfect for all ages and abilities.

A simple path, kind to handicapped with minimal elevation changes. Plenty of wildlife, I've seen fox, raccoon, deer, and a plethora of birds. I take my daughter daily

There is an interactive trail for kids and a few short trails to walk and cool off in the shade. A quick jaunt as trails are quite short. (We did all 3 in an hour). Very nice thpugh.

Brought two little girls in to see the stuffed animals and live ones. The 3-5 year olds loved the place and wanted to try everything. Later we walked a trail and even saw a live deer (not up close) They had a ball. People working there were kind, helpful and friendly. A pleasure to visit.

One of the few nature places around here. It's not very big but it's pleasant. I rarely see animals except for squirrels and the occasional deer. Good for riding your bike around or taking your dog for a walk. I think you need a pass to park but you can enter from the subdivision on dequindre and park on the street. There's a little gate entrance directly to the left of the elementary school.

The space, as always, is beautiful. The Nature Center itself is closed, but a portable potty is available right off the main lot. I saw low compliance regarding facemasks, so high risk persons should be wary. Not even the Sheriff Dept. personnel donned one as he traveled by bicycle.

The building is closed right now because of COVID-open only for restrooms. The trails are nice, with many to choose from including a sensory trail. Fall should be gorgeous here and I will be back. Staff person at the nature center was very nice!

We love taking walks through the trails. Overall would recommend for a peaceful relaxing walk away from car traffic. My boys love exploring in the nature center building also. The puppet theater is a big hit for them.

Peaceful waking and biking trails. Lots of mosquitoes. Occasionally deer. Can't recall ever seeing deer blinds back there. Lots of mosquitoes. Pretty serene pond. A hp skip and jump from Meijer for the outdoorsy type to enhance his or her wardrobe. I an so sweet and kind. Why thank you.

Took my dog for a walk here. It was pretty crowded, really. Still, it was clean and well kept. Kind of wished the entire path wasn't paved.

Take your tiny humans for a winter walk along what they call the "Sensory Trail," and Ivebeen calling the "Storybook Path." They can run from big page to big page of The Mitten by Jan Brett, then explore the trails further if there is still energy to burn. The bathrooms inside the building ARE open for all your small bladder needs. There is also a covered picnic area that is the perfect spot for a socially distanced snack break if you are meeting up with a couple friends for your walk. If you're going without children, bring a furry friend and enjoy the longer trails. Just remember to bring your own baggies; I don't think the dispensers are being filled during the pandemic.

It's not a very long walking trail but it's in a cute little wooded area. This time of year when all the leaves cover everything it almost completely takes you out of the city mindset. There are a few park benches to sit and relax, maybe even bird watch. I've had squirrels come up to me looking for food lol

More like a dog park today. Too many pets. Too much noise

  • 5/5 Monique A. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful nature walk right in the middle of the suburbs. Dog walker delight, but PLEASE be a decent human and pick up the poo. I was saddened by the messes left on the path itself. :(

  • 4/5 Erik M. 1 year ago on Google
I really like it here. With that said, I really wish they wouldn't allow bikes. There are so many places to ride, why do you need to ride on a 5 foot wide path with people trying to walk and have their kids looking at stuff. Of course it is a nice place to ride but it is so small that the bikes are a nuisance. And before anyone has a problem, I also bike. You have to look behind you all the time if you want to look at something to see if someone is about to pass you on a bike! Just sayin...

An awesome place to escape the city for a little bit. The trees are huge and beautiful and you can always catch little critters scurrying around.

To many deer flies this time of year but this park is a magical destination! It is well maintained and is a rustic gem in our rural community!

truly a gem in the thick of infinite cement + ball parks + golf courses be aware NO ONE wears masks here. one couple was dry heaving half the trail, giving me the creeps. north end esp has terrible traffic noise from 13 mile rd saw LOTS of deer (easily north of a dozen) fawns + all chipmunks

  • 5/5 Pauly G. 10 months ago on Google
I’ve only been here to walk the trails & to enjoy nature. Several Deer, playful Chipmunks. I imagine bird lovers love this place. Blue jays, Cardinals, Red Winged Blackbirds & Robins seeking shade from the summer sun under trees. I enjoy my walks here & feel confident recommending this trail at the Nature Center.

I've come here since I was 10 years old. It was a fun safe place to visit as a kid walking through their little forest watching squirrels play and enjoying the cool shade of their large trees. We cane here and learned about the animals around us. Good place to visit for any. It's enjoyable and relaxing.

Very nice park, clean and up-kept. Trails aren’t very long but that’s the limitation of an urban park.

5 stars not so much for the "center" but the trails are great! Paved and well kept, it's a fantastic option when dog walks around the neighborhood get boring!
