Small but well stocked and maintained. A pleasant stop if you are in the area.

Extremely small and not huge variety but a nice place to rest for a bit

Beautiful garden! We had our small wedding ceremony there. Cozy and romantic place!

Beautiful garden, especially in late spring when everything is in bloom. We loved the colorful tulips, lilac trees, and Newton Apple Tree. There are ADA-accessible ramps but it’s a bit steep, and there are stairs that you have to climb up from the main road. There are some benches and a gazebo that would be picture-perfect locales.

Gorgeousness right downtown Madison. What a great walk during lunch.

This is a very small botanical garden in the middle of campus. There aren't many very exotic plants, and some didn't quite survive the winter (went in mid-spring). Overall this place is quaint and pretty

Cool garden, not too many people so it's a good place to take photos

Saw a hawk hunt and catch rabbit there one day. The garden is part of the community in more ways than most other public gardens.

Nice tranquil spot in the middle of the city. I only saw it in the winter. I'd love to visit it again in the summer. I did expect it to be a little larger.

UW Madison's Botany Garden is an often-missed gem. Alongside University Ave between Lathrop and Chamberlin Halls and behind Birge Hall, it's refuge to escape from the hubbub of city life. In addition to the trees and flowers, there's a considerable quantity of artwork, plus the Newton Tree. In good weather, UW students can be found studying or resting on the grass, benches or under one of the three immense ginkgo and other trees.
