The handful of times that I have been here, I was 1 of about 20-30 people there, on a weekend. This could be a cool place but I have never seen many people here. The dance floor area is very large with a raised stage and some tables and chairs lining the perimeter. The bar area is partitioned off from the dance area, which I do not like. IMO, having access to the bar without needing to enter another area from the dance floor would have been better. The bathrooms only have 3-4 spaces in each. There should be more if they are looking to accommodate more patrons. I may change my review, but so far, not really impressed.

Always fairly empty (fewer than 50 people in a LARGE space), which makes it kind of weird. Good drink prices, but it can be hard to get service with all the "regulars" cutting line. They have a nice NA menu.

Performed for my first time in years with Lady Laughs Comedy. Fantastic spot. Perfect in my opinion. And the music in the background let me know this is a place I need to visit

Do NOT buy VIP, you'll never see the stage. VIP seating is the farthest away from the stage behind the dance floor. Bathroom had no heat, like sitting on an iceburg. Bartenders where excellent, they get this place an extra star. Strange layout, bar is in a different room from the stage.

This is a fun and inclusive atmosphere. I look around and see so many people comfortable and enjoying themselves. They have lots of events. I like that the events are very original, I specifically enjoyed experiencing the bdsm night. I’m happy to have found this gem.

Great venue for an intimate show. Saw IAMX at Crucible and it was a blast. Great bar, too. Solid cocktail menu. Got to love a place serving up absinthe. Would love to see a show at Crucible in the future and will definitely keep an eye on the performance schedule.

Nice size venue with fun art. Not cheap but not overpriced. Punk and metal friendly. Noticed a bunch of folks commented that they didn't like that the bar was not in the performance hall but I liked it. You could hear the bartender easier when the band is on and get a break for a second if you like. There isn't a door separating the rooms, just a cool artistic archway. There's plenty of seating in both rooms so not sure why that's an issue for people. My only complaint is that they scan your id and keep your info in their database according to the door guy. He said that if they ever have a problem with someone they keep their info on file! Super creepy. I have gray hair so I don't usually get asked for Id but was happy to pull it out until that happened. Makes me think twice about visiting again . Also seems illegal to require that info and store it. What if they get hacked or have a disgruntled employee?!

Love Leather & Lace night. Solid drinks & a good dance space. The bathrooms are cold, need more stalls, and I haven't loved the djs music choices for L&L. BUT all-in-all this is the space & venue Madison has needed for a while. Good successor to Inferno. Safe & friendly atmosphere.

Great space for dancing and live shows. The performance space is separate from the bar space. You can go from one to the other without crossing the dance floor. When someone spilled their drink on the dance floor, it was mopped up promptly. There are lockers presumably for personal items. The women's bathroom had complimentary feminine products, safety pins, and bandaids.

Hands-down my favorite club in Madison. Fun vibes, much respect and a very safe atmosphere for all. It feels like a community.

I went last night on Feb 29th. It was circus themed this particular night with sword dancers, fire players, and other great entertainment. The whole place felt magical and everyone was super nice. Hands down the best night I've had in awhile. Filled up on popcorn too, it was great.

Fabulous vibe! Fun, hard working staff. Respectful and professional security. The best stage to sing karaoke anywhere around -- and yes, even the stage here is wheelchair accessible! Awesome live music and niche events. Even the art is one of a kind. Plus, to top it off, you can really tell the employees care about their club, too - it's always well kept, clean, and attractive.

Went to Leather & Lace for the first time last weekend and I will be coming back. Great music, drinks, dancing, and everyone wears fun outfits. The dancers are awesome, there are tables to sit at, there are menstrual products in the women's and men's rooms, and there are lockers for you to put your stuff in so you can dance. If you need a breather or to smoke there is also a small patio you can go out on.

As far as I can tell this is the only bar in the city worth going to besides Woofs.

A good place to consider for an alternative dance scene. The clientele were respectful and fun. The music and events vary but tend to gravitate towards industrial and other darker dance music. LGBTQ friendly and open vibe for non-traditional identifications. They have a coat check and lockers. Spacious bathroom lots of space to walk around, sit and chat, or dance on the large dance floor. Beers on tap, neat cocktails, specialty drinks. At this time they only offer bags of chips for food. I hope they change this since there isn’t much food nearby and drinkers need food. I am definitely going back!

Bar and dance venue offering a wide variety of entertainment, in the same night I saw a Burlesque show, a stand up comedian and 80's Dance night. Decent Non-Alcoholic drink offerings as well, had the Black Death Severed Lime sparkling water.

Love this place. Great venue for everything from live music to burlesque, drag, and other alternative entertainment. Extremely LGBTQ+ inclusive.

I've been frequenting the Crucible since 2021, its been a pleasure seeing them flourish and become more popular. The best nights are leather and lace, and the masquerade nights. A Madison gem, no other clubs like it anywhere near here.
