There are countless things I love about being a member at Twisted Fitness. The variety of offerings (Jiu Jitsu, CrossFit, Muay Thai, Strongman, Olympic lifting and more) is excellent. The variety and quality of equipment is spectacular and provides all you need to get in great shape and grow your athletic abilities. There is even a physical therapist, and massage therapists, who offer services in the gym. The community is unmatched. I have never had such a positive experience at a gym. I feel like I can truly be myself and be a beginner in areas like Jiu Jitsu, and I'm treated with the utmost respect and kindness. The members are not cliquey, like you find at some gyms, which makes it very easy to get to know people. Everyone is there to get better, and encourage others to be better. The owners, Mark and Sonja, have built the culture at Twisted Fitness and are truly fantastic people to learn from and talk to. The gym is always very very clean, and everything down to the food and drink offerings, the merch/store area, and complimentary towels, make the experience of training at Twisted Fitness even that much better. 10/10 recommend checking out this gem of a gym.

I've been with Twisted Fitness for 4 years, and it's been a tremendously good impact on my life. The coaches are great, the students are great, the facility is great. Whether you're interested in competition, or just fun, this is an excellent place to train.

The equipment is nice. Workout areas are well kept. Some staff is really nice, but some are awkward and competitive. I used to work at a climbing gym and can recognize alpha bro competitive behavior from a mile away. Must be influenced tattered flag hanging on the wall. Bathrooms often smelled of urine. Canceling your membership is a hurdle - staff doesn’t have any ability to cancel (but can sign you up?) and ABC fitness (the third party) will charge you months after you cancel. There are better gym experiences in Madison.

I adore Twisted Fitness. After nearly 2 years of routine attendance, I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. I joined for the BJJ and (somewhat reluctantly) started the morning CrossFit class, which is now a staple in my week. The variety of humans who attend classes is lovely, and I do feel like the gym is my second home. I adore the coaches and professors and feel like I've grown so much since starting here. It's a clean, beautiful space and the owners prioritize safety and community in a way I've never experienced at another gym. I love the access to different classes and educational opportunities. It's also great that they have in house massage and PT. I can't speak highly enough about my time at Twisted Fitness.

I have been to different gyms all over the world due to serving in the military. Twisted Fitness has the best equipment, atmosphere and staff compared to any facility i have been to. I highly recommend them for whatever your fitness needs may be.

Cannot express enough the uniqueness of this gym. You can do Strongman, powerlifting, crossfit, weightlifting, jiujitsu and muay thai for a killer price. 50% of the reason i decided to move to Madison was this gym. Knowledgeable trainers, and coaches who are always more than willing to work with you. Numerous class times to work with most schedules. Honestly cant talk this place up enough. Great environment and great people who train hard and produce some insanely good competitors. 10/10 recommend for any level. Facility is clean equipment is kept in great shape by staff and members. All equipment is catered to the workout bench bars for bench squat bars for squating. I could probably leave a few page review about the great things this place has to offer but you will have to come see for yourself.

Gym with excellent facilities, that offers a variety of services at different levels of quality. If you are an olympic lifter, powerlifter, crossfit guy or other general lifting related person, then this is an excellent place for you. Their gym facility has professional level lift gear for any sort of activity and multiple high level lifters who attend. If you are interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Twisted has high level coaches who still train and compete. That said, they are very micro managerial about your training (especially Sonya, one of the owners), and don't let you roll until you have stripes on your belt (which is a ridiculous concept if you know anything about BJJ.) If you are a hobbyist interested in doing BJJ, then maybe this is the place for you, but if you have any aspirations to do anything serious (whether compete seriously, MMA etc.) I would refrain from coming here. For Muay Thai, I would only recommend for beginners. Theresa (their Thursday teacher) is absolutely fantastic and also teaches at Chosen Few MMA. That said, the other coaches are great guys and competent, but do not have fight experience. Good place to get your start but not a great place to stay if you are serious. Overall, I recommend Twisted at 3 stars, due to the fact it has very niche sections of the market it appeals to, especially regarding martial arts.

This is the best gym with the best staff in Madison, and it isn't even close. Whether you want to train combat sports, crossfit, or just do your own fitness training it is a cut above the rest. The facility is incredible, and no matter how many people are training it never feels crowded. I have been training jiu jitsu and weight training the past few years and am thankful for the entire staff their, and especially Mark and Mike with the jiu jitsu classes. Thank you, and see you at noon!

As someone that has been a member of many many gyms over the years, I can say that Twisted Fitness is hands down the very best. The owners, staff and members are all so welcoming and kind- there is a real heart and soul here that I've not felt anywhere else. This truly feels like a place in which everyone is supporting and cheering one another on, even if they don't know you. I guess you could say the culture here is very supportive and kind. The space itself is extremely clean with tons of natural light. It has a really positive, upbeat vibe. The equipment is high quality and everything is in great shape. While it's been a while since I took part in their classes like Muay Tai & Jui-Jitsu, I would highly recommend them for these classes as well. As a woman that has overcome a fair amount of bodily trauma stuff (from experiences unrelated to any sort of gym activities), I always felt like my daughter and I were really safe and supported during these classes.

Pros: * Airy, bright and clean workout space * Friendly staff * Modern equipment for powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and what I'm pretty sure was a Crossfit setup (I don't do Crossfit.) Cons: * Offloads contract handling to ABC Fitness. ABC Fitness is also a debt collection agency, so if you have any financial or health-related instability in your life, you may save yourself a headache by giving this gym a pass. They would not let me terminate my contract with a letter from my doctor describing changes in my health. Talking to ABC Fitness is kind of like talking to a major cable company. Make sure you carefully read both the Twisted Fitness contract and ABC Fitness contract, because they are different and you will be held to both. A basic gym membership is $60/month and early termination fee is $150. I'll be spending $630 total for what ended up being a total of 2 visits. This is my fault, but I do wish I'd read the medical portion more closely. * Small locker rooms * All aerobic equipment (stationery bikes, treadmills, etc) are non powered, which is not necessarily the best if you need some specific low impact exercises for PT (This also is a pro: low energy consumption is good for the environment) * No separate locker room for non-binary or transitioning people. Obviously, his won't apply to most people but caused me a lot of anxiety. You'll be allowed to use the gendered locker rooms, but unfortunately, statistically, harassment tends to come from other customers, and most trans people would like to avoid even that first incident. * Due to my developing joint issues, I'd really benefit from access to a pool and that's not part of the gym. (I'd also love access to a sauna.) I would have liked to terminate my contract and change to a facility with a pool.

Twisted Fitness is one of a kind. The community is supportive, the owners are welcoming, and the facility is best in class. The facility has top of the line equipment that is well maintained, and the gym is always clean. No matter what you are training for, you’ll be able to meet your goals here. I cannot recommend this gym enough.

The staff at Twisted Fitness is amazing. The facility is top notch and is impeccably clean at all times. The Alliance BJJ team has so many great coaches and put the safety of everyone as a top priority. Great community, great tean.

The facility is top shelf and the people make this the best gym around. The culture of respect and hard work is cultivated by the coaches and staff, and supported by all teammates. What a great place to get after it!

I am one of the several females who do jiu jitsu here. The classes are VERY safety-focused and they ease you in as gradually as possible. Whether you want to just roll in class, want to compete, or want to further your training, everyone is treated with respect and patience. I mostly roll with guys and they tend to be helpful and considerate. There is a fun “team” atmosphere and Mark, Sonya, and Mike really know how to teach well. Also the price is reasonable for what is offered. I know people from Beloit and the Dells that drive just to train here. It’s an awesome gym, and I feel like I “belong”.

Twisted Fitness blow every gym in madison out of the water. The facility reminds me of a professional team’s gym. State of the art squat racks, Rogue weights, and all of the ergo machines are clean and well maintained. The gym staff is always roaming to help spot you on lifts which has been very helpful.

Seems like a well run gym. I was there to watch a friend in a weight lifting competition and the gym was an amazing host for the event!

I had a massage there from Vanessa that was fantastic. It was one of the best sports massages I've ever had. I'm a runner and she helped work on some really tight muscle groups that I hadn't noticed were effecting my form. I was getting cramps after a mile and a half and sore calves. Since my first massage I've had zero cramps and more consistent form. I'm really looking forward to continued sessions. She is knowledgeable and focused well on my opportunities for improvement.
