I’ve been here three times in the last month because I can’t get enough. My favorite so far is the sweet heat beat. It’s messy but so worth it. I always get the vegan cheese on it, French fries as a side, and a wiscopop. The staff is so friendly and helpful, too. Even though it’s a pretty carefully curated menu for people with food issues or preferences, I still need to make sure some ingredients in the food are okay for my body, and they have readily available ingredient lists so you can read it over. I have a plan to come back as many times as possible to keep this place in business. Can’t wait for the smoothie bar to be set up and the hanging plants to get big!!

I went for the first time today and fell in love. I had the sweet heat beet burger and it was soooo good! I am excited to go back (tomorrow) and try more! The atmosphere was also really lovely, with super fun decor and a beautiful mural. I loved the music that was playing, and it definitely wasn’t too loud. The person at the cash register was also super friendly!

Awesome place on State Street. The man working at the counter today was informative and very energetic it was a breath of fresh air. He recommended the BBQ impossible burger and it was delicious. Our family has the chicken and the original impossible burgers along with fries. It was all lovely.

New Top Dog on State Street! Wowwieee this place is GOOD!!! I'm a regular on State Street so I decided to give this new place a chance and boy oh boy, they did not disappoint. I ordered the Chipotle Black Bean burger and Fries, and I haven't been able to think about anything else since my first bite. The burger was nice and flavorful, and the fires were perfectly crispy. The owner even stopped by my table to check and make sure we were satisfied; I love when restaurants do that. Inside, they have a fun mural on the wall and tons of plans that are still growing but eventually will collaborate for really cool, natural vibe. The space feels extremely welcoming with all the natural light and has a great aura for dining in. I really love what ownership is doing with this completely plant-based menu! It’s a great healthy and TASTY alternative to all these meat-based meals. For those who are looking for a delicious bite and ways to limit their carbon footprint, I would absolutely recommend. Fun Fact, look to the mural for a picture of the one and only, Sookie.

Sookie's is one of my usual haunts and for good reason. The menu is unfussy, but consistent. They have a delicious Chik'n sandwich, which other Madison vegans can attest, is hard to come by, they have a breakfast menu that cannot be understated, and they reward their regulars with a discount if you stop by within 2 weeks of your last visit. All of that with options for ice cream, vegan desserts, and a number of drink options (including coffee and beer), what's not to love about Sookie's? Not least of all, the staff is super nice and they have always decorated my to-go bag which makes each visit a little special

In the Heart of Downtown Madison, nestled between campus and the Capitol, sits Madison's newest vegan burger and fry joint. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and delicious food are what you can expect. We had the black bean burger, the vegan chicken, and the portobello burger. All were delightful. Air fryer fries and sweet potato fries left us full but not bloated. I also hear there is another surprise in-store for the bar area! Can't wait. Thanks a ton. We will be back soon!

Great place for gluten free vegan burgers downtown! I have celiac disease and feel safe eating here. The staff are knowledgeable and are happy to answer questions.

The vegan chik’n goes crazy and the air-fried sweet potato fries were yummy. I also like the sweet heat beet burger (i added pickles—it’s not really spicy, but it has peppers in the beet-based burger itself and really flavorful—they told me it has beet sweetness but not so much of the beet earthiness and i think that’s accurate). Have not tried other menu items but the regular discount might keep me coming back to try more lol. I was really hoping to try the portobello sandwich that I saw in older reviews, but it looks like it’s off the menu now. Also nut-free facility is a bonus! Warning: They don’t have ranch.

Loved the black bean burger, it was huge! Guac was also delicious and garlic-y. Atmosphere was cute and the employee was so nice. I would go again

Excellent vegan food and an extremely friendly staff. Delicious burgers and shake! All the items made on-site were delicious, but I did take a dessert item out of the fridge that was made elsewhere (I think it was trying to be a vegan take on a Twix bar), and this was a bit of a miss for me. But again, definitely well worth the visit for any vegans in the area!

Absolutely wonderful and respectful place. John was fantastic and made me a delightful vegan chicken sandwich. Super tasty! Downside is that it smells like fumes, but definitely worth it. Big plus, everyone is super cool and friendly.

Being a vegan, I REALLY wanted to like this place more than i did, especially after all the rave reviews and 5 star listings it has. Food was slow to come out; thankfully my order was correct the first time. Others, specifically 3 different booths, were not so lucky. They recommended the chicken sandwich, which i tried. It meets the marks of a chicken sandwich, but not much more. If i ever decided to go back, MAYBE I would try one of their shakes or desserts, or even a breakfast item. It has several 5 star ratings- perhaps it’s a one-off and everybody deserves a second chance.

First time there. Had the California Burger. It was surprisingly good. Service was very fast and friendly. I don't usually eat vegan, but this was a pleasure. I also liked the side option of hummus and pita.
