Booked a bed for a friend and i paid in advance, his flight got cancelled and he arrived later so I wrote 2! E-Mails to the Hostel to let them know. But as my friend arrived he had to pay again cause they said they only got an E-Mail with some missing informations which is not the truth, so I showed them the E-Mail I sent with date and time but they didn't accept it, so he didn't get his money back. And at the end of the story we paid 120€ instead of 60€. That's definitely not how you should treat customers. And if we doesn't get the money back I'll initiate legal actions.

This place is a badly organized, over priced joke. Check in time was stated as from 2.00 pm. When we arrived at the hotel there were 9 people waiting to check in. As a result we decided to go down the street and get a drink. This took us 45 minutes. When we returned to the hotel we saw that only 3-4 people had been attended to and that there were more arrivals waiting to check in. We waited for approximately 25 minutes in which time only one person was checked in. We spoke to those waiting in line and it was taking about 20-25 minutes to check each person in. There was only 1 person on the hotel desk and she was not coping. As we joined the end of the queue we were 9th in line and it was about 4.00 pm. As a result it was going to be nearly 7.00pm before we would be able to get our room. If this was a budget hotel I might have been more tolerant but at €175 for the night I expected much better. We had plans for the evening so we got a room at a nicer hotel and at a better price. When we complained they ignored all emails and calls. Never got a refund. Avoid this place like the plague

I have spent there a week and highly recommend this hostel for budget travels. Different nationalities and friendly staff. They have safe-cages in every room but you should buy lock:) Featuring a lift, a vending machine and a tour desk, Motion Chueca Hotel is set 1 km from Plaza de Oriente in Madrid. The venue comprises 35 non-smoking rooms. Additional amenities include 24-hour front desk assistance, 24-hour housekeeping and sightseeing tours.

Was woken up at 3 in the morning by reception - turning the room light on (waking the entire room up) - dragged down to reception to explain why I was sleeping in someone else's bed. Guess what, of course they had double booked the bed. Worst part is, the women didn't even care, no apology, nada! Plus, be prepared to wait up to 5 hours to check in. The online QR code means nothing and saves you no time. The rude staff make no effort to hurry the process up. The receptionists seem to be on some sort of power trip, constantly asking to see your room key. This is the same room key that I had to get reset 4 times during my 3 night stay as it stopped working. My bed was full of crumbs and hair, plus the room was sweltering. With both aircons not working. Didn't see a staff member smile once during my stay. Don't expect them to even acknowledge you when you walk by the front desk, directly at the front door. Only difference between this and prison is you pay to be here. Although it's cheap, spend a couple of extra euros to go elsewhere. Trust me, you'll regret it.

This is the worst hostel I have ever been. I WAS STOLEN! Someone on my room stole my money from my wallet that while I was sleeping with by bag next to me! By a guy that check in around 5 am, with no clothing, just laid down for a while and then robbed me and left. It almost feel like it’s an agreement between the person in charge to open the door during night time and the thief. Dirty, didn’t feel safe even before the robbery, a lot of homeless, people staying, bad vibe, Cecil hotel vibes. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL. You have a good one just next door called Vazquez. Rude staff too.

Pleaseee don’t book this place. Forget about the service and the disgusting rooms and toilets. There were no blanket in my bed. So I called and asked for one and I got a simple answer ‘no’. Apparently they don’t have the blankets. WTH just close the whole business at this stage. I literally shivered the whole night in the cold.

The worst hostel. The worst breakfast. In the rooms it is really not enought space for 6 people in room for 6. Really I do not recommend that And - if you leave your baggage in the storage you have to pay 5 euro later xD

This is the WORST hostle I have ever stayed at. First, all my chargers, Apple Watch, and many other things were STOLEN. And when I told the front desk they did nothing about it. Second, the alarm started going off early in the morning waking everyone up. The rooms are horrible and the service is even worse. They do NOTHING if u have a problem. DO NOT BOOK HERE, biggest regret I’ve made while here

Please do not book on this place. It took them 3 HOURS to make the check-in. While I was waiting in the cue, many people hosted there went to reception to complain about the bad quality of the services and the room. I slept there one night and then I booked in another place. Worst hostel I've ever been.

I had a reservation for 2 nights which I already paid for. Upon waiting for 2 hours with all my stuff for the slowest check in and the weirdest people shouting over and skipping line, I came to check in and they told me that my reservation was canceled and that their hostel was full anyway. So to summarize, I was kicked out on the street with all my stuff on Saturday at around midnight, even though I had my reservation and it was already paid. I know this is a cheapest hotel in the world but please dont go there because it not worth it. Even if they accept you, you will be in a very unpleasant atmosphere and a scary place.

Avoid at all costs. Aa frequent traveler, I advise you to avoid this hostel, even if it is the only place available. Literally wasting your money on the ground, better to sleep on the street instead. 1 hour + to check in, absolutely dirty and disgusting facility.Homeless people sleep with you in the dorm, I woke up to find two of them sleeping on the upper bed. No quite policy available, so people were nagging and screwing each others loudly after midnight, others are drinking and watching videos or chatting super loudly. For 25 Eur, the most expensive hostel ever stayed in, had no choice because of the last min flight change. Wish I stayed on the park instead.

I made a reservation for this hostel for my mother, for personal reasons I had to cancel. They charged me the full amount even when I made sure there was a free cancellation policy before the date of arrival. I have called several times, everytime there's someone different on the phone and they tell me that they are going to fix the problem, the boss is not here. excuse after excuse, I even went personally and the girl on the counter was more interested in her phone than helping me out. To this datem I still haven't received my refund. Zero stars!

18 EUR a night in the heart of Madrid during the summer? Not complaining - you get what you pay for! Prices vary throughout the day/week, early morning/late night Monday-Wednesday is the best time to make a reservation. The hostel has a lot of potential but there seems to be minimal management and the staff is overworked and apathetic. Make sure to reserve your room on Booking beforehand, and note that the check-in can take a while, especially on weekends. I'd advise bringing your own lock, as the lockers in the room are useless. There are female-only dorms. Pillows are rather uncomfortable. Showers are fine, water pressure seems to depend on the room. Mixed crowd, you've got everything from businessmen and Swiss tourists to British partygoers and the homeless. Made for some interesting socializing.

I came with my friend for 2 nights. The rooms are clean and nice. But when we got here the check in took ages and the receptionist was clueless, slow, inexperienced and unfriendly. There was a long line and it took us 1 and a half hours to get it done. Moreover the breakfast has not much variety there are only sweet stuff but there is an option of gluten-free bread. The location is very nice, most of the attractions are in walking or biking distance. It’s parallel the Gran Via as well. The experience was over all okay.

The worst hostel in the world. Be careful for this place. Unfortunately one worker is representing very racist behavior…Receptionists didn’t let in my brown skin boyfriend, even though he had a paid reservation!!! Worker said that “his computer is not working” and ask him to go out. In the meantime Spanish speaking person came to reception desk and he let him in without any problem. I kindly ask owner of this place to same statement in this case. This situation occurred on 07.07 around 20:20 (8:20 pm)

Perfectly fine. Check in took longer than I would expect, but I got to choose upper or lower bunk. The mattresses are so tall that I couldn't sit up straight on the lower bed (I'm not very tall). The room had lockers, but many of them didn't lock properly, so be careful! At any rate, most guests didn't use them. The building is old but didn't feel too dirty. Nice to have a free breakfast, even if it's just cereal, bread, and cookies.

We just had the most amazing weekend in Madrid the reviews on this place were terrible but very unjustified. The guy on reception was very helpful our room was clean breakfast was good and the location is outstanding . We will book their again on our next trip to Madrid

To avoid absolutely! some people there are not tourists, squatting all day long (men mainly). No soul. Just business. Lockers broken in dormitories. Noisy... and expansive. The worst : no blanket, no heater.

Place was disgusting got no sleep, charger was stolen by cleaners asked front desk and they knew nothing even though one of the roommates said they saw the cleaner take it. Lockers didn't have a lock beds were uncomfortable, waited 45 minutes to check in place SUCKS

The rooms are quite small for a 14 bed dormitory. You will feel suffocated. Bed linens were not clean in the room. Toilets doesn't have any hand washing soap and the management doesn't even care. The locks of the toilet are broken. The lockers inside the hostel room doesn't have locks. The reception service is too bad. They don't allow us to check in even 15 minutes before the official check in time of 2 pm.

This hotel is one of the most well known in this area. I have been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you will love it I'm sure! Great location! Don’t book at this place! Not clean at all. Bed and bedsheets were stained, there was a lot of noise from the street, cold outside but barely breathable in the room, everything was broken especially in the bathroom, weird water noise all the time, no lock nor safety apart of the key in the room, lot of robbery occasion. The common area aka tables are never cleaned properly even after breakfast time and there’s no way to bring your own food or just even reheat a pizza. Far from friendly staff, not well organized for check in and out, there was more than 30 min. wait. Clearly understaffed, but really disorganized and not efficient. Worst stay ever even just for one night.

The waiting time was long enough for me to learn mandarin, then after I discoverd my awfull room ! I had better nights sleeping on the street !

NOT RECOMMENDED. At the reception, 2 computers but only 1 desk operating. Queue was insanely long and slow. Waited for 30-40min to check in. When it's my turn, the staff started operating on the second desk. While I waited for the staff to start the computer and arrange the scanner etc, roughly 3 from the other desk have already successfully checked in. Very poor service. Don't expect much for breakfast/just skip it. Location is alright.

We had booked a 3 day stay at this hostel, and because some of us got covid the day we were supposed to check-in, we cancelled the stay just to be safe and considerate to the other tenants and the hostel staff. They charged us the first night, which makes sense because we cancelled right before our check-in, BUT they also charged us for the next 2 nights. We thought this was extremely wrong and we tried to get a refund but the hostel WILL NOT answer to our calls or booking.com emails, for that matter. The circumstances of our cancellation were totally out of our control and to be charged for the 3 days because some got covid and trying to be responsible, while we still are in a pandemic, is so disappointing. Maybe this comment will remind them to answer to us and eventually get some kind of refund.

Location and price was good. The room was okay. The breakfast was simply disgusting...

Best of it is the location. Too many bunk beds in tiny rooms. Too expensive on the weekends.

First thing is - it's closed. I've made reservation on booking, it was confirmed and then I found myself in the another country without roof over my head! No information, no data, it's just close and still up and running on the internet and booking sites. This is abysmal. My booking was forwarded to the completely different location, and i haven't received any information whatsover. If not a complete coincidence, that I found a different hostel and there staff member told me that this abomination has a different location I would be in different country completely without any information or hints what to do. so maybe it is time to take your not working branch from the sites where you can book your stay!

1. location is great! But that’s about it unfortunately… Breakfast is nasty there’s really nothing one can eat and even the drinks are disgusting I don’t want to know what the juices and coffe are made of. And the only thing they offer to eat is toast with insanely disgusting jam. General area is just an awkward place and the whole building had a weird smell to it. 2 bed room was alright I guess but not very clean and the shower didn’t work. Would recommend some other place in the same area!

The only nice things about this place it the location, and then nightmare. The place was very dirty in general and out dated. There were too many beds in one room so that makes it so so uncomfortable. If move will kick someone's head. The common area was very dirty too and seems no one really cares about making it nicer. The staff was a little ignorant but I guess they got better days. Would not recommend if you got other option. Don't think I will visit again. This is my first hostel where even people staying there were so miserable.

My favourite place in Madrid for drinks. Great view in central Madrid, in a beautiful terrace. Great if you want to experience one of the few open terraces to drink in this city.

I seldom give hostel reviews, but this is the one you should definitely avoid. No wifi connection in the room, what's worse is that they can't turn off the AC in the room so we are all freezing to death. I think I'm gonna catch a cold tomorrow Heads up: if you want to deposit the luggage the fee is 5€, so in the end this hostel is not that cheap

Worst hostel I’ve ever been to. Went there in 2019 and had to chose this hostel because it was last minute and didn’t have much options. The place was so dirty and so far from the pictures I saw. Had to buy my own lock for the locker. The receptionist was being all nice and offered “upgrade” to all girls room for other girls on the check in but when I asked he said it’s not possible, while he offered other girls right in front of me!! Bathroom was reeked of urine and don’t have amenities at all. My bed was missing a blanket but when I asked for one it never came. Didn’t even bother to try their breakfast. My only advice to other people who wants to stay here: don’t!!!
