The place is quite fine but sun may effect to you in summer but you should consider this period as eight months in Madrid. Do not forget Ur sun glasses and water bottle (there are lots of foundation and water is drinkable and free) There might be long queue for entering the palace and if you are willing to see inside the building, prepare urself to stay strong at the queue.

This is my favorite place in Madrid. During our visit, there was a South American festival. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks, accompanied by live music from a band in the evening, and, of course, everyone was dancing.

Plaza de España: A Majestic Gem in the Heart of Madrid Plaza de España, a grand plaza in central Madrid, is a stunning example of architectural grandeur and a vibrant hub of activity. Its sweeping curves, colorful fountains, and majestic buildings make it a must-visit for any traveler to the Spanish capital.

Recently renovated, this square is so beautiful. It's nice to sit and read a book, walk around, relax, people watch... At Christmas there's an ice skating rink. There are also little shops, like a small Christmas market with food, jewelry, clothing, etc. Very quaint!

this is a lovely small park and you can always enjoy a break here. . Just off Gran Via it's a perfect place to relax and eat your lunch. You can always sit on the grass banking next to the fountain. There are plenty of shops close by and there is a kiosk selling drinks and snacks etc in the corner of the park. The statue of Don Quixote and Sancho is a classich myth.. Also the Cervantes Statue is also there.

Very nicely decorated around the Christmas holidays. There was a lively little market place with a bunch of trinkets, souvenirs, and food. Has a great big playground for kids that is played on till late into the night.

The square was recently renovated and is a great place to walk. It's a direct path towards the Royal Palace. In wintertime it holds an ice skating rink and a small Christmas Market.

One of the most famous place in Madrid. There are many restaurants there, where you can eat good food. Also a very populated place with lots of tourists. Pay attention at your belongings because there are lot’s of pickpockets.

Lovely space to relax in the city. Summer outdoor film festival and pop-up eateries and bars (frozen margaritas were a winner). Green space, children's area, landscaped walk to royal palace.

This is not as famous as the Plaza de España in Seville, but it's also a very pretty and bustling hub of the city. You'll find lots of open space in the main plaza and nearby playground for the kids. There are many shops and restaurants nearby that cater to locals and tourists alike.

A famous square in Madrid, at the western end of Gran Via and near the Royal Palace. In the center of the square there is a monument to the Spanish writer and playwright Miguel de Cervantes. The monument consists of a stone column with the statue of Cervantes and at his feet bronze statues of Don Quixote and Sancho Pancho, the heroes of his famous novel, as well as stone statues of Dulcinea, Don Quixote's lover

We are visiting overseas - excellent place to take kids because of open space and playground. Beautiful fountain too (no picture). A great place to hang out - observe people and bask in the sun. Was winter when we were there.

COOL PLAZA Really cool town square, with modern architecture and interesting buildings. If you come during the day, there will be tour groups that hang around here, but otherwise it's a lot quieter than the rest of Madrid.

I believe this might be the most important square in Madrid, you can go to most places of interest from there. lots of monuments and places to visit, amazing for walks and relaxation if you want, close by restaurants and parks. minutes to various coffee shops, restaurants and money exchange shops. heart of Madrid.

This was the first spot in Madrid I step foot on. The area is big, you can witness some amazing buildings and there's a monument in it too. Just take a quick photo and you're ready to go to the next spots nearby.

Great place to spend some time during your evening in Madrid. It does not get very crowded, so unlike Sol or Plaza Mayor you can breathe freely here. A lot of swing and other stuff that allows to have fun even if you're not a kid anymore

Super beautiful central square at the feet of the Gran Via. Amazing Christmas market, super accessible (the square is recently renovated and perfectly accessible with a wheelchair or any device). There is a large parking lot undeneath it so it’s easy to park here and then wonder around the city!

A popular public square in the centre of Madrid and one that I really wanted to see for the to Miguel De Cervantes in the square. Sadly, the plaza is currently under renovation and no information about when it'll be completed.

We stayed near by this place in Madrid for two nights. You will find almost all type of restaurants around this place. All the monuments are easily reachable within 10 minutes using metro. One can buy a Madrid day ticket for 8,90€ that is sufficient to cover all the monuments. Specifically English brunch served around is awesome.

When I walked by I was struck by how large the square is. Definitely one of the largest squares in Madrid. The location is ideal to meet friends and to prepare for the evening or today’s activities. It’s currently receiving some renovations and is being restored. Because of that it’s difficult to enjoy the square but you are still able to walk around and see all the work they are doing as well as observe the size and layout of the square.

Very nice plaza with lots of opportunities for beautiful photos. To bad that the main feature of the plaza is not accessible. The fountain in the center is on a roundabout so really pretty pictures are not possible. Watch out for traffic because it moves very quickly. You will enjoy the location, as it's near major transit options. Go at midday, when the sun is at the right angle to enable the best pictures of the area. The surrounding buildings are also nice.

  • 4/5 Gioconda V. 2 years ago on Google
Not much to do here but relax and enjoy the view. It is just a "plaza' (a square) where kids can play and have fun, now in Christmas they have a Bazaar with different vendors, there is also a Roller Skating Rink. Definitely, a family place.

  • 4/5 Alex B. 2 years ago on Google
A very crowded square (it's not a typical square - more like a small park with a playground). I was there on Saturday and it was full mainly with families with small children. There is a nice Cervantes monument at the square. There is also a metro station just at the square.

After long time finally its open to the public. The Christmas decorations and the tree are very beautiful. I wish it was everything finished before Christmas because it seems that needs more work, its not everything ready.

Plaza de España has been renovated. The new open spaces. The new look of the buildings around has made for sure one of the places to must visit in Madrid. It has now direct pedestrian access to other near key points in Madrid. Great project, great execution!!

A place full of history and literature significance. I recommend going there to read a book or simply to stay around the plaza and enjoy your time. Also, if you have time, enjoy the panoramic view from Riu Hotel

After waking up at 4am with jet lag from our trip, we got up to walk around town. Quiet and beautiful time to get out. I walked through this beautiful park. So peaceful

This is a good hotel. We had a lovely time here. The room was excellent. We booked a family room and you may as well have called it a suite. The sofa in the separate lounge was my Son's bed and this was completely separate from our room. The roof top bar and staff here were excellent, even during a mini tornado! The view is amazing and the drinks are very good especially the Aperol! We ate a great cheese board and the pizza and burgers were good, if a little pricey. ..however..the ordering and paying process is a pain, If you are a resident you should be able to charge your room. The lifts are efficient and fast. The breakfast was great in terms of the food quality and choice, but I hate buffets generally, not their fault, but you always feel like you are fighting for your food. The pool is miniscule and not worth a visit, unless you are desperate to cool down. The location is excellent for everything in Madrid. We walked everywhere and it was a joy to return to the Riu. We will be back. Thank you

Nice place to relax, we got a nice surprise with the fresh market style set up. Selling food and goods from different Hispanic regions. Also had a stage set up and a screen playing music videos.

Nice place it is a square with statues of Don Quijote, Sancho Panza, and Miguel de Cervantes. It needs a little bit of garden maintenance though. During xsmas it has some restaurants and a ice skating rink

Our hotel was across the street and there was always something to see or do in the plaza. A great view of many different things. People watching, checking out the beautiful statue, you can catch the metro or even see an animal.

A very nice square, there is a fun playground for children, close walking distance to the palace and gardens. There are people in the square making art. You can have a great view of the square and the city from the RIU Hotel opposite the square.

Viva Madrid !!! It’s a lively plaza on Gran Via, with lots of restaurants and shopping around. It’s lovely too that they put a Christmas market, an ice skating rink, German themed beer garden and of course a beautiful Christmas tree. So there’s something for everyone.

It is a nice place. I would recommend it to visit it during the day and not at night. The green area around the sculpture has not been cut, so the spotlights cannot illuminate the monument.

The place after few years renovating, now it is more green and clean. There also have many amusement facilities, so many parents can bring their kids to play here. And there has a huge square that can host some concerts and events. It is really good to have a big park in the city center.

Go for it! We stopped into the Cafe one floor below first for churros and chocolate first. Both were worth the price of admission.

Visited in summer. Nice place to enjoy a drink and eat. Food not so great but a nice place to relax and have a conversation with friends and family. During summer, movie sponsored by the city of Madrid.

A good central place. When I went there was some carnival going on with food stalls from different countries and some stage shows. It was an exceptional experience.

Amazing plaza with a huge view of the Rua hotel. The surrounding beauty is breathtaking. Highly recommended to visit. It's close to the city center.

We were here for the last night of the cinema and vendors. Large open area with monuments and plenty of benches. A park sits behind the plaza with lots of trees for shade.

We stayed at a hotel nearby and this is a nice plaza where there are always something going on. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby with plenty of park benches to enjoy the outdoors and there is even a playground for kids too.

This plaza is relatively large, worth visiting if you are near. The surrounding is nice and the Don Quijote statue was always surrounded by tourists 😄

With just 5 euro you can go on the 26th floor and have a fantastic view of Madrid! The terrace is really clean and with the opportunity to get a drink in or out. Highly recommended during the week days.

I have always enjoyed Plaza España, but a few years ago they refurbished it and it is now a really lovely public space. It still has the central statuary that it is known for, but it now includes great shade space and a playground and other facilities. A lot of the area around it have been pedestrianized and the plaza ties into that as well. One of my favorite spots in Madrid.
