Another must try cafe in Madurai. This cafe has an excellent ambiance for couples. Although the cost is on a higher scale, the taste of the food here is very unique unlike many other cafes in Madurai and its surroundings. This cafe also has a bakery on the front selling cakes. Beautiful ambiance for family and couples. Although madurai is not a coastal area, this cafe is obviously an excellent place to try sea foods. There is limited parking space here for cars. The restroom is well maintained.

I had a disappointing experience at Phil's Bistro recently, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. The evening started with high hopes, but it quickly turned into a frustrating and unsatisfactory dining experience. The first major issue was with the food quality. My party and I ordered pasta, and it arrived at our table undercooked and still al dente. It was evident that the kitchen had not given it the proper attention and time it deserved. The result was a less-than-pleasant dining experience as we struggled to enjoy our meal due to the undercooked pasta. The service, however, was even more frustrating than the food quality. To make matters worse, the restaurant didn't even provide us with plates for our meal. We were left in an awkward situation, trying to eat directly from the serving plate, which is far from the expected standard of service. This inconvenience persisted even after we politely asked the staff for plates, which they promised to bring but never did. The lack of responsiveness and attentiveness from the staff made the dining experience at Phil's Bistro extremely unpleasant. It felt as though our needs and concerns were being completely ignored. In conclusion, my visit to Phil's Bistro left me deeply dissatisfied with both the quality of the food and the level of service provided. Undercooked pasta and the absence of plates for our meal marred what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. I hope that the restaurant takes these issues seriously and improves the quality of its food and service to ensure a more positive experience for future patrons.

We ordered for Salmon and Lobster. Mr.Lobster was really delicious and good size of portion. And that fellow Salmon, grilled Salmon was too good, the best part in Salmon was the crispy skin and that to together with white sauce, wow happiness...

The restaurant is located in the heart of KK Nagar Madurai. It is the only restaurant in Madurai which serve authentic Italian cuisine. Their dishes are too good. From pastas to pizzas and their sides all are taste very good. The only minus I saw was the food quantity was not adequate.

3 star for the ambience of the restaurant. The restaurant looks like some conference hall with some old curtains hanging on the window. We didn't like the way the pizza was served/presented on the cake stand. The high chair is helpful for kids.

We as couple had our lunch here and we were very much satisfied with both food and ambiance. As I read many reviews I find one common things is “quantity is not worth for the price” Phil is very much responsive, you can ask him how the food is prepared and the quantity of the same so that we can have an idea of what we are going to get. The lamb strips were so delicious with right amount of spices and quantity was around 200grams plus which was sufficient enough for two people. After having white sauce pasta at most places,I found the dish here were unique..With small lemon pieces and grill chicken I must say the flavor was very good.. I was told the bbq wings is also good here. Key lime pie was good… I wanted to try other desserts too … may be next time !

This place is alive with christians. I had the experience where sophistication meets quantity. This was not like any other average restaurant here the owner or head chief has his own clientele were they get their meals customized to their need and taste. Quiet expensive and different taste. Their plum cake was not upto their standard, however their food did not give us any bad stomach so quality food at a price.

For travelers who are suffering from Indian cuisine and changing environment. This restaurant will cure your body 100%. Thank you!!

Tried our hands with Starter - Corn and cheese bites - a decent attempt of recreating corn cutlet with a tiny cheese cube ... 😅 Main course 1 - Phil's style Pasta - the sauce tastes good yet it didn't get along with the pasta also, the garlic bread was burnt and chewy ..🙁 Main course 2 - Pesto with mushroom and sun-dried tomato pizza - the crust was so thin and burnt in the edges and also tangy flavour was dominating .. not a go to option at all .. 👎 Desserts - American tart .. well, the image itself speaks for it.. after all that experience, finally there came a saviour for our taste buds; Lip smacking - Must Try Dessert ❤️ In a nutshell - Not worthy for the bucks you ought to pay .. 🤷

Excellent quality food. I often order mushroom soup when I find it on the menu, and this one was outstanding. The main dishes were all delicious - two vegetarians and a meat eater - we were all satisfied. Also, I'm a fan of artful food presentation, and Phil really hit the mark. He even managed to make the BBQ wings visually appealing. We paid Rs 1000 per person which included starters, mains and desserts all with excellent ingredients. My only suggestions would be that the key lime pie should have more of a key lime pie consistency (it was more like a cheesecake), the tart should be a tart (not a brownie) and the other main dishes should be prepared later when the the risotto is nearly ready so everyone can eat at the same time (my friends were nearly finished by the time my food arrived). Oh, and replace the TV with more art. You are fine dining :) This is just feedback. Bottom line - if your stomach is craving 100% authentic, delicious, western food, go to Phil's!

I really enjoy coming to Phil's Bistro. I was here the last time I visited Madurai as well. I had ordered the Mozzarella sticks today and my only issue was that there was almost no salt in the marinara dip. Enjoyed the rest of the food.

Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in Tamil Nadu! 100/10 for food. Loved the Basil Pesto and creamy sauce pasta. The chicken starters were crispy and on flavour. I couldn’t get enough of it! The bistro’s ambience is just perfect on a tiring afternoon. Phil was so generous and packed us a dozen of garlic breads for our travel back home. This place should be on your must visit list every-time you’re in Madurai! Thanks, Phil! Can’t wait to visit you soon :D

This is one of the places in Madurai that offers Italian and American cuisine. 1. The honey BBQ wings were very, very balanced in flavour and had a great crisy texture went really well with the sauce. 2. Lasagna: I wish the layers were more in number and maybe could have been cut better to give a better visual. The taste was okay. Could add a bit of butter-fried breadcrumbs to make it richer and give a nice background crunch 3. Key Lime Pie: amazing, creamy and had the right amount of lime. It had a great cookie crust as well. Just wish the portion size was larger. 4. Had a lamb dish whose name I forget. The lamb was very well done, and the meat was falling off the bone. However, the quantity of mashed potato, which tasted really good, was quite less for a ~₹500 dish.

One of the best restaurants in Madurai. We usually have baked crab or Creamy lobster whenever we visit. Recently this restaurant has started buffet brunch on sundays. Ala carte was better than the buffet. There is no parking facility available inside the restaurant. But we can always park outside :)

I went with my friends to this place before we catchup our train. I tried potato wedges and they tried chicken lollipop and a pasta variety. I felt potato wedge could be better. It was not so crispy and the pasta quantity also less. It costed us Rs.750. Ambience and service of the restaurant was good.

The staff is really helpful and friendly. The food is amazing and tasteful. I recommend this place! It is a little bit outside the center of Madurai, but that's no problem. A tuktuk is easy to find and it's worth the money.

Had a sub-par experience at phil's recently. I was seated in a separate dining hall where the service was extremely slow. It took ages for anyone to come and take an order. We've experienced slow service at phil's before but this was the first time that i found no waiters around to even take orders. The bill itself took 10-15 minutes to ready. The food was alright. The main course was fine but the dessert - key lime pie - was mostly condensed milk with hardly any lime in it. As though someone threw some ingredients together as an after-thought. It was extremely sweet and not worth being on the menu in this state. Enclosing image of it. You will see it is very different from what previous diners have posted. This experience is going to ensure that i don't go there again and I'm going discourage others from doing the same. Good luck to the management.

It was an evening with my best friend from school.We're happy to have chosen Phil's Bristo. All what we've had ordered was incredibly,irresistibly flavourful. It's instantly comforting  & heartly foods ,but spirited enough to make one feel invigorated.
