Located in the heart of the old city, very close to Madurai temple is this restaurant which serves authentic Punjabi food. It is in the first floor, one has to go through a narrow passage to get to this place. Service is fast, food tasted good. Prices are pocket friendly. Parking is a major issue here. One has to walk a long way from the parking location to visit here.

It's the great place you can find to have veg food in madurai. It's inside small narrow passage. Food quality, quantity and service was good.

This so-called restaurant is an absolute nightmare. The waiters should take a crash course in manners, the food was an insult to my taste buds, and the family-friendly claim is a blatant lie. The stench inside could rival a garbage dump, and the tables were sticky with who-knows-what. As if that wasn't bad enough, the leaky roof added a lovely touch of smelly water to our dining experience. When we dared to complain, the staff circled like vultures, threatening violence and showing zero remorse for the disaster they called a meal. To top it off, they snatched my phone, deleted crucial evidence, and left me with just a snippet of their appalling behavior. Do yourself a favor and spare your family from this disgraceful excuse for a restaurant. I wish I could rate it lower than one star.

Heard their north Indian stuff will be good ... Straight away ordered for the main dish … asked for Tandoori items .. Took one Lachcha Paratha Rs 45 per piece , Then one Butter Roti Rs 18 …. Asked for one gravy called Panneer Taka Tuk Rs 150 … ( waiters suggestion ) .. To add this asked for one Dhal Makhni , Rs 100 , and half plate Jeera Rice Rs 45 … Both the tandoori stiff Lachcha Parotta were top class … that Panneer gravy was also top class ..they came with Big Big Panneer cuttings … Completely satisfied … But their Dhal Makhni was not that much pleasant ...it was a bit spicy .. 8 felt the original Dhal Makhni taste missing … Jeera rice was also bit strong. ..so this Jeera rice and Dhal Makhni was disappointing … they both should be mild ... Finally took one sweet lassi ..Rs 35 … it was not that much thick ..but tasted good. .satisfied with that ... Many dine in people in the restaurant were taking Roti varieties only … This is just 250 meters from town hall road starting … Overall very much satisfied with their stuff ..we need to be bit choosy .. they are experts in Rotis and Panneer gravies … Good experience ...

This is good hang out place for college students as the price is normal and the dishes are tasty. The north Indian dishes are best served here and affordable for everyone. They serve in more quantity and the quality is good.

A true hidden gem in madurai. Location is not the most optimal as the restaurant is located in first floor with a very narrow entrance. But the quality of food easily makes up for this. Vegetarian restaurant with great variety of North Indian dishes. Polite staff and waiting time was less than 10 minutes during afternoon time. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone coming to madurai and planning to have authentic North Indian dish.

My expectation was so less while arriving at the restaurant. The waiter was top notch. The dishes he suggested were the best I've had in a while. The location is a bit off but you should definitely try this resto.

A place for veg North Indian food , the food tastes good but if you expect a calm ambience then this is not the one. Reasonable price. The wash area should be maintained more .

You're in Madurai and you like North Indian Cuisine in very much affordable price with authentic north style, then go for it. But the place is very much congested. *Note: Cash only, no card payment and no upi payment available there*

Very crowded. Plenty of waiting but they've more than enough tables so you can get table within few minutes. Apart from that food is really tasty. Just proper north Indian food. Owner and staff is also nice. There is no parking near by so you've to search and park.

Punjabi Dhabha has been our go to restaurant for the entire family and friends alike for more than 15+years. They serve authentic tasty food which perfectly fits elders to kids. The food is made freshly and served. Their authentic punjabi cuisines are the best. Do try the panner and Gobi 65 along with paneer tikka, which are ultimate

Location is little bit hard to find so ask near by people's. The menu provided here contains all types of North Indian food was really good and tasty and hot. But the place is not hygiene as you seen. Another thing is there is availablity of digital transaction like gpay / card payment so be prepared. And the place rash so plan your parking facilities

Very good north Indian Veg Food . Open till very late ( I went there at 10-45 PM ) . Food potions are large and taste is good . Only issue is that it's too crowded and it might take some time to get the takeaway . The place is difficult to find without the help of google maps and it's on 1st floor with a narrow staircase . Might be difficult for elderly to go up to dine in here .

So much dirty and filled with smell. There is no proper ventilation. You could get ill after eating food here. You can observe the stairs to reach restaurant, they are very dirty. Seems like they are not taking care of hygiene properly. Although this is Panjabi restaurant but the taste is not like Panjabi food. You can expect huge modifications on original dish.

Food is good with North Indian taste. We tried Kadai Paneer, Mashroom masala, Dal Tadka, and jeera rice. Dal tadka was below average. Rest everything was fine. Service was delayed too much.

Good food available but the waiter will not give you a clear idea about the food quantity. I have ordered 10 garlic Naan for 5 people but hardly we can eat 4. The waiter atleast can give us some idea about the size of the Naan. Everybody in south India are not regular visitors of punjabi dhaba. Disappointed with the service

  • 3/5 pragyan p. 6 months ago on Google
Food was average. Considering it's in the south, the food and it's taste is decent. Not too hygenic. Very very crowded. Service is chaotic. They are unable.to.manage the crowd. There are better resturants.

Worth of each single paisa you spent here. Taste, service & quality are up to the mark. Greatest things is, restaurant is pure vegetarian. Highly recommended for jain food also. It's hardly 300m from west gate from the temple.

Very good food and value for money. Food was freshly prepared and very tasty. Service was also great. As we were very hungry loved each morsel of food. Chapati nd roti were hot and soft. Overall a good place to have North Indian food in Madurai. U get a dhaba ambience there.

Excellent Punjabi food. Not very costly. Hot, fresh and tasty every time we visited. Soft tandoori butter roti, gobi (Cauliflower) masala, paneer tikka all very delicious. Servers are very polite and keep asking if you want anything. Only thing which needs the owner's attention is the cleanliness of the floor around the hand washing area.

  • 5/5 Vasuki A. 1 year ago on Google
Best place to try Punjabi dishes, paneer is too soft and delicious. Enjoyed more varieties of side dish

  • 5/5 DHANANJAY S. 2 years ago on Google

Delicious north indian food. For north indian food in Madurai, i would give 5 out of 5. However highly suggested to work on some cleanness and hygiene factors. The entrance and stairs to the restaurant disgust literally but tasty food is waiting for you upstairs :)

  • 2/5 Hariharan B. 2 years ago on Google
Very okayish taste. Paneer Paratha had no salt and just chilli powder. Butter naan was good. Gobi 65 was good. Malai kofta was not horrible. Too much oily and the kofta, am not able to find what it was made of. Totally, very average experience.

  • 3/5 srinivasa karthesan s. 1 year ago on Google
A great fan of their garlic nan. Usually their stuffed nans are pretty soft and tasty. But their masalas are too much colored, you feel like you had put mahendi (lol) after eating and doesn't fade out even after bathing next day. So that worries how much effect it might have on your stomach. Had their worse veg Biriyani which was instantly prepared and tasted worse with too much oil and masalas. Jeera rice was without salt and rice was too much cold and was not fully cooked. So their rice is on the average side. But nans and masalas are good. Panner startes are also good.

Best place in Madurai for North Indian cuisine. Panneer dishes are great. Service is a bit sluggish though.. My fav: Methi Paneer Tandoori aloo starter However If you are expecting a great ambience and niche of cleanliness .. this is not the place you are looking for

  • 4/5 Yugandhar G. 1 year ago on Google
I feel everything is costly in madurai with out any difference of veg or non- veg, In madurai i never expected a Punjabi restaurant, luckily I found this in google maps..taste is average but the price is very reasonable to try it out. Visited twice in 3 weeks. Must try restaurant to taste different from routine madurai style biryanis & parotas,,

  • 4/5 siva p. 1 year ago on Google
The starters and main courses are too good for this price range.Very economic. Naan and parathas are also very good in taste. But i dont recommend rice items here even veg hydrabadi biryani is not relevant in taste to its name.

  • 1/5 rajesh m. 1 year ago on Google
Unhygienic. Don't expect the typical punjabi food. Ordered kaju paneer and mushroom masala. Both were prepared with the same gravy base, which is not the way it is supposed to be. Also pathetic in terms of cleanliness. So many other genuine vegetarian restaurants are there I premises.

North Indian Lovers will love this ... Tastebuds will tingle mouth watering dishes of all varities... You should try the Panneer tikka, Gobi 65 masala pappad as starters... Stuffed naan items (gobi, panner, alloo) and all are good. Must try NIndian hotel at Madurai... Pls dont use bathrooms here and take only Cash not accepted

  • 4/5 Riddhiman c. 1 year ago on Google
It's a very nice place to visit, especially for North Indians, as there are very few places that provide cherishable North Indian food in this part of India. One free advice for people like me who can't tolerate or literally struggle with too spicy flavour... Don't get deceived by the appearance of the green raita, as it's not made of mere pudina... But also CHILLIES!!!! So beware😁 and enjoy the delicacies, and if you want to speak Hindi, you can talk with the people working there 😁😁. So yeah... A nice place overall... And last but not the least.. It's strictly VEGETARIAN.

Budget restaurant. Great place for North Indian food. Value for money. We had paneer handi and dal fry. The restaurant manager is friendly too.

Such disappointment for North Indian food. If you go with family avoid this place. They know you are a tourist and they will try to rip you off with food prices. Very rude staff and this place smells bad. Looks like all 5 star reviews are fake or they never went to eat out.
