Refreshing pub food; what Market House does is take the concept of eating in at a pub in a different direction and I like it. It feels new, it’s only been a year since it was last refurbed. The restaurant section is humble, comfy, with loads of scatter cushions adorning the seating. The kitchen is visible too, which is cool and uncommon in a pub setting. Service is split between the pub and restaurant, it’s humble and caring. Food was delivered quickly. The food, I thought was bloody brilliant. What a great selection of dishes. Me, being fussy when it comes to choice had lots to tickle the taste buds. Their 5 starters for £22 is a winner and something that more pubs should have. It’s the pub’s equivalent of tapas. All food looked beautiful, well done Shepherd Neame chef. My pick of the dishes was the duck and sweet potato croquet. Refreshing, quality food, excellent value for money. The best pub food in Maidstone town centre.

Popped in here for a pre-meal drink. The pub is nicely decorated although the seating arrangements were strange. I think the benches had been moved to allow for a band later in the day. Tables were rustic but a bit rickety - lean too hard and your drink will spill! Friendly bar staff and full range of Shepherd Neame beers alongside other drinks.

Had the most amazing food here pre England match. Was passing through after touring holiday around Kent. Made to feel so welcome by Claire. She chatted to us and went out her way to ensure we were happy with our food and that the chef made allowances for food allergy. The food was superb. The service was worthy of the highest award! The staff were all so happy to be there, they were jolly, friendly and came across like a big happy family. Just loved it. Recommend to the highest possible degree! Go!

A lovely pub with very pleasant staff. Nice social ground floor bar with long tables getting people to mix. There is a smaller room upstairs with its own bar (wasn't open when we were there) which leads on to a roof top beer garden. The staff were lovely. The Guinness was excellent as was the Spitfire.

Stopped to sample the small plates menu as had heard positive things. Absolutely loved it, brilliant service, well presented food and great value at 5 plates for £28. Enough for two people.

We sat on the roof terrace for lunch. The food and service were good. The roof was quite shady at that time of day (afternoon). There was a big, noisy fan attached to the building (something to do with ventilation or cooling in the building, not one for moving the air around customers) that kept turning itself on, which made the terrace less peaceful.

Visited here with my 2 buddies yesterday and I must say I had one of the best Meals I have had in a long time. The Pork belly was superb, (sorry to hear that it's coming off the menu as I'd willingly pay more if needed). Great atmosphere good service and one happy tum. Thankyou

I was recommended to the Market House for a vegan lunch today. But I had Mock Duck, but with non-vegan Noodles. It was very nice, but I would have preferred it if it had been vegan, noodles don't taste any different. The beer was also in excellent form. I would have given them a ***** rating if it had been all vegan.
