My husband and I went to this lovely restaurant and pub. We had a lovely meal, food was great. I have arthritis quite bad now as I'm getting on for 6o yrs.of age (although in my head I feel lots younger) a young Member of staff helped me to the toilets....I'm not 100% of her name but I'm sure she said her name was Hannah and she'd only been working there for about 2 weeks. Thank you Hannah, and thank you to a lovely evening food was great.

Really lovely evening with my partner! Food was lovely, ordered the fillet steak and that was delightful. Just want to credit Julie though, she made the visit 10x better, her knowledge of the menu was great and recommendations too. Her friendliness and attentive detail. Best customer service in a very long time! Would come back for sure, especially with Julie’s service!! Thank you

The dining room is beautiful. Waiting staff were excellent, very attentive and made a real effort with all at the table (a large group, birthday booking) however, food wasn't as good as we've had in other Elite pubs; portions were small and lacking and it wasn't cooked well. Steak was chewy, duck over cooked and small, no corkshire with the roast etc. Also, food service took a long time.

We visited on a Wednesday evening...it was very busy, clearly a good sign. We had booked a table. Michelle looked after us, very helpful & attentive to everyone there, despite being extra busy due to staff issues. The food was incredible! We've visited quite a few pubs, as you do, and the food here was the best I've tasted. Pub menu's are pretty generic but the food here is a step above the rest, by far! We will definitely be revisiting, even though its not just around the corner from us, it's worth it! To all the staff there, thank you for a lovely evening!

We stayed 1 night at the Wishful thinker on the way back from a few days in Ghent. The place is beautifully decorated, and the room is fantastic. We hadn’t booked dinner but Michelle managed to accommodate us last minute. She was absolutely fantastic during our entire, really lovely with our little toddler and super friendly and helpful the entire time. We hadn’t by any means expected our stay to be so wonderful, and even less did we expect such a fantastic level of service! Michelle went above and beyond and it meant we had an even more wonderful night.

First time we have visited and we will definitely be back. Food was great, as was the service. Just a nice place to chill with friends or family...also dog friendly which is good. I would recommend although it is not the cheapest, it is well worth it.

Beautiful restaurant/pub. Food has been amazing on both occasions and very reasonably priced. I love the chain of pubs this belongs to but think this is my favourite. I will definitely return.

This re-opened place is a wonderful welcoming pub and restaurant with a large floor and excellent food. Open from 8.00 every day for breakfast then stays open all day. A very welcome addition to the area. Imaginative menu, 3 sorts of mulled wine in the winter, 3 real ales. Does rooms too. Thoroughly recommend and wished our pub (in the nearby village of Egerton) could be half as good.
