The onsen is at the foot of a mountain. They serve food but please be aware that the photos on google are different to what they offer. I have uploaded the menu. This is the only menu. The food is not very tasty. Also the onsen has only 2 baths. One inside and one outside. There is a sauna too. For the price you pay I don’t really think it’s worth it…. There are better onsens around. Also there is no english menus and the staff are not very polite

Great - super value for money. Food was classic onsen food but excellent and big portions. Baths were very simple (1 inside 2 outside) but very clean and in good condition. Overall simple but good! Update: came back again 7 months later food was not quite as good as I remember but still ok. Downgraded to 4 stars.

Tourist perspective: nice facilities, especially indoor tubs. Peaceful view of mountains outside from men's side.

While there aren't a huge number of baths, the experience is still very enjoyable. There is a large bath in the rotenburo which is only walled by a thin low fence (except, of course, for the separation between the male and female sections which is a large wall) and so you can see not only the sky but also the fields and the horizon while lying in the pool. The sauna is small but has a glass wall that also gives you a beautiful, albeit fogged-over, view of the surroundings. There are massage chairs in a very quiet secluded corner and a lively restaurant with a varied menu. The building itself is sightly old and run-down but this simply adds to the atmosphere.
