Beautiful nature hike, great choice for beginning climbers. Shuttle bus from the station makes easy access, the shop on the mountain has surprisingly good ramen, and champon. Would recommend.

A great shrine to visit! Just a short walk from the Bus stop, this shrine was huge and impressive, with a lot of things to see. Also this shrine is close to the cable car entrance and the hiking trails to Mount Tsukuba.

Nice place. Famous for autumn leaves. There’s cable car station right behind the shrine. Have pay ¥300/¥500 for the car parks(per 1day). Hiking can be started here as well. Restaurants are also available around. Entrance is free.

I went to worship around 9:30 on a Sunday in March. It was quite crowded, probably because the weather was nice. As for the parking lot, if you go past Omido (temple) and turn back on your left, there is a parking lot for people praying, so I went further up and used the parking lot. All nearby parking lots cost about 500 yen a day, so if it's crowded, I think it's a good idea to park at the shop parking lot on the right side in front of the shrine if there's space. At the worship hall, the large bell and long shimenawa rope, which are rarely seen, catch your eye. Also, if you look up at the sky on a sunny day, you can see black kites and other creatures, so it will be very relaxing ☺️ By chance, I heard that for a limited period of one year from January 1, 2024, you will be able to receive the Goshuin of Hitachikoku Sacred Mountain, so I will also be able to go to Oiwa Shrine, which is enshrined in Hitachi City, by the end of the year. I would like to receive a Goshuin stamp created in collaboration between the two companies✨😄This Goshuin was made possible because both companies consider the mountain a sacred object and have been promoting it since ancient times✨ There is a sacred tree on the right side of the shrine, and a psychic I know told me that it is a very strong energy spot and that he recommends that you stop by there. You can touch it, but if you stand next to it, you can receive the energy without touching it, so if you have a sense of gratitude and awe towards the sacred tree, I would personally ask you to refrain from touching it as much as possible. 🙏However, there is no posted notice saying that you should not touch it, so there is no problem if you do what you want, so don't feel bad🙇 There is also a cable car to the left of the shrine that takes you to the mountaintop in about 8 minutes, and from the station at the mountaintop, you can visit the main shrine of Mt. Nantai and Mt. Nyotai in 15 minutes on foot. The view from there is exquisite ✨☺️ Of course, if you climb the mountain on foot, you will definitely feel even more blissful 👍😄 The following is an excerpt from the shrine's website↓. Tsukuba-san Shrine is an old shrine with a history of about 3,000 years that looks up to the sacred mountain "Mt. Tsukuba" in the east as its object of worship. It extends to yen. Many people come to worship throughout the year due to its highly valued divine virtue. We also hold prayers for weddings, matchmaking, traffic safety, warding off evil spirits, etc. every day. The two deities enshrined here (Izanagison and Izamishoson) are the ancestral deities of the Japanese people, and their divine virtues are written about in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki. The two gods married and gave birth to the gods, giving birth to the country, which brought divine virtues such as matchmaking, marital harmony, family safety, child-bearing, and child-rearing. Takamasa, the divine virtue of workplace safety, construction safety, traffic safety, etc. In addition, you can receive the strong divine blessings of the ancestors for industrial purposes such as good harvests and big catches, as well as prayers for warding off evil spirits, warding off direction, praying for good wishes, safe childbirth, and successful entrance into higher education. In Sessha Inamura Shrine (Amaterasu Omikami) Anzatsune Shrine (Suenakison) Obaraki Shrine (Tsukiyomison) Watari Shrine (Ebisu no Mikoto) is enshrined here. Others: Hie Shrine (East Hall) Oyamakui God Kasuga Shrine (West Hall) Takemika Tsuchikami Tsunetsu main deity Tenkoyane kami Hime kami Itsukushima Shrine Ichikishimahime no Mikoto Ebisuten is also enshrined there. We recommend that you all visit Tsukubasan Shrine and receive the divine virtues✨☺️

Beautiful grounds and buildings, especially the azaleas and wisteria. We visited during Golden Week, so there were lots of fresh green leaves. I'm sure the large gingko tree is beautiful in fall. If either of the shrines on the mountain peaks are closed for weather-related reasons when you visit, you can purchase the goshuin at this temple. I believe they will confirm that you visited the mountain peaks in order to purchase though. The cable car is nearby as well as a hiking trail, so there were many people in hiking gear.

The shrine is tucked in the mountain forest and offers nice views of Tsukuba and Kanto region as far as you can see... Pacific Ocean, Tokyo and even Mt. Fuji when the sky is clear! The shrine is also trailhead for climbing Mt. Tsukuba and the cable car station is nearby. Gift shops, restaurants and hot springs are along the way from the tourist information center, parking lots and bus station down the street. The mountain offers nature’s beauty throughout the year.... plum tree festival, cherry blossoms, hiking, fall colors, new year’s sunrise, Shinto shrine’s seasonal celebrations/events and much more!

Its a nice walk to the shrine up the hill. It was quite busy but with kind employees keeping things clean. There were nice wood carvings not on the main shrine but a few stories down. The main shrine and omikuji stations had some social distancing. People are friendly.

This is a shrine located halfway up Mt. Tsukuba. There are parking lots, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc. in the surrounding area. However, it is often crowded on weekends. When I visited, there were people taking commemorative wedding photos. You can also feel the history in the surrounding trees. The stairs are a little steep, so I thought it would be better to watch your step. It is a shrine that is associated with matchmaking and marital harmony. If you have any idea, please come and take a look.

(Translated by Google) Although it was my second visit, I can feel the breath of Mt. Tsukuba. I used to visit when I was walking down from the summit. At that time, I was parked in the parking lot on the Tsutsujigaoka station side, but in the evening the ropeway disappeared and I could not return. When I was at a loss, a young driver of the Kanto Railway bus passed by and asked me about the circumstances and sent me to Tsutsujigaoka Station because it was my way home. I forgot to hear the young man's name at that time, but I am still grateful. Including that, I attached 5 pieces.

It was my first time visiting. The location at the foot of the mountain where you drive in is a little difficult to understand, but once you figure it out, all you have to do is climb up. I was allowed to use the parking lot of a souvenir shop in front of the shrine (500 yen), and I was impressed by how sociable the grandmother was. If you get off the car and walk, you can reach the main hall of the shrine. There is a souvenir shop along the way that offers drinks like kombucha for free. Climb the stairs and take the cable car (1,070 yen round trip) to the top of the mountain. As of March, the mountaintop is covered with snow and is quite cold, so it's best to wear warm clothes. Miso dengaku, grilled rice cake skewers, and mushroom soup are warm and recommended at the shops connected to the cable car platform. If I had to say anything, it would be annoying to see foreign tourists taking pictures (in front of the stairs).
