Ordered online for a set time, so it would be easy to pick up and go. Turns out we got there 10 minutes early, and I asked if the order was almost ready, because you know sometimes food sits, plus I wanted to go and do something and come back. Too bad for me, the girl said it was almost ready, so we decided to wait... We waited, and waited, and waited... Took 20 extra minutes from the time I had set the order for. I understand they got busy AFTER I came and checked in. Yet tons of people were getting their food before us, people who came in AFTER us. Finally, 30 mins later we got our food. Turns out they forgot the curry sauce for the tempura curry, AND someone didn't peel the shrimps all the way... Had shells left on SHRIMP TEMPURA. I was going to give it a 3*, but... The lack of customer service, the lack of curry sauce, and one temaki was cut so strange, with the shrimp shells, I'm going to have to drop my review to 1. I will not come back here, unless I'm forced to. Don't judge a book by its cover, the food looks pretty, except for the temaki roll... Totally disappointed...

With all of hype you hear about this place it turned out to be quite the disappointment the trio: ahi, shrimp tempura, and very small portion spicy ahi $15. They gave more rice then entree will not be coming back!

First time visiting here. The food was very crisp, fresh and delicious. When you order a combo dish, it comes with a green tea energy drink. The first taste was sour but after a couple more sips, you get use to it. My overall experience is GREAT! I HIGHLY recommend eating here if you love raw fish and sushi

Love the freshness of sashimi. That's a 5 star, Everything else is just okay, not so much of a fan for overpowering miso sauce on my butterfish. It masks the natural taste of the butterfish, which I so loved. The chicken is another sauce overkill. The nitro tea was a disappointment!!! Didn't wow us. Hence just a 4 🌟.

The food is delicious and the tempura selection and fresh sushi rolls are plentiful. The food was as delicious as it looks I promise you that. I ordered the Khal Bi and my partner got the Futakake Katsu Ahi. We both grabbed some gyoza, croquet, I got the fried chicken he grab shrimp. We ate it all!! The price is a little steep but the food is worth it!! 🤤

We used to really like this place. It has sadly gone downhill over the last 2 years. We went last night and the place was empty for a Friday night. The staff were friendly enough, but got our order wrong, the meat portions were very small, and they give you a pixie cup for water, which I promptly and easily knocked over and got water all over our table and floor. Girl was very nice trying to clean with a paper towel when she really needed a real towel and mop. I also noticed the place was very dirty. The floors, tables and hard wooden seats in the cracks. It would take just some vinegar and water and some good scrubbing to spiffy it up. But the worst was the rice. I expected perfectly cooked rice In a Japanese restaurant but it was so dry and hard like it sat under a heat lamp all day. We loved the background music but it was too loud and didn’t reflect the kind of establishment we felt it should have. Unfortunately, we have no plans to return. Hopefully the owners and management will take a little more pride in their business and make the necessary changes.

You can order bentos/bowls/sushi or grab what they have on the line. Everything was good but some tempura items on the line were a bit old/cold (they'd been open for about 1 hour). American style sushi was good but there was a bit of shrimp shell still. Will go back to try again.

I bought 2 two combo bentos plus a Sukiyaki bowl. Our total bill came out to $51.30. It was my turn to treat my family, so I handed the cashier a $100 bill. She asked another employee if they had change for a $100. She came back and said they don’t have change. REALLY???. My change would’ve been $48.70 and they don’t have that much in the till?. Well, we got home and some miso soup spilled in the bag, the dipping sauce for my tempura spilled in the bento, miso soup was cold. NEVER,EVER will I eat there again. Find another restaurant who has better customer service.

Cold soba and tempura is good. Nigiri and sashimi is not good.

Pretty good little place, I really like that it has a tempura bar. I had a few pieces of tempura and a spicy ahi bowel, the wife had a mixed sushi plate. Ahi bowel was well done, rice was cooked well it was good but they use shredded ahi , personally o prefer the chunks Tempura was good although a little cold. Wife loved her mixed plate, would def visit it again

Nice to have some Japanese food at Ka Makana Ali'i. The Tonkastu portion was generous and the Unagi was prepared and flavored well. Their sesame seed dressing for their salad is delicious too! I was a little surprised that their rice was dry...considering the name of their establishment is "okome" or "rice". But hey...the quality of everything else is certainly worth going back for! The line moves smoothly...so even if it looks a little long, it's actually enough time for you to look, decide and then place your order. The Unagi does take a few minutes...but while we were making our way down the line choosing a salmon musubi, shrimp tempura and croquet, the worker from the front found me and handed me my Unagi plate...just in time to pay. Smooth! The prices for their sushi varies on what type it is, but they are also reasonably priced. You do not have to purchase a plate if you just want sushi...so there's actually a few more choices than the main entree selections. I'll be back for sure. I want to try other items, but we were very happy with the Tonkatsu and the Unagi...so I'll probably have it again before I venture to the other selections!

I have a review for Okome in Kapolei for you today 🤗 Honestly, I should have done one a long time ago but I guess I was too busy or sick at the time 🤔 anyway, my mom was nice enough to grab lunch for me from there the other day so now I can finally do that long overdue review for you! I really love the food here a lot. One of my favorites is the Beef Sukiyaki Bowl which I normally get along with vegetable tempura of some sort. She picked up the potato one for me along with a corn croquette. The Sukiyaki Bowl was right on point as usual, with a nice sweet and savory flavor- very yummy! I was really in the mood for Japanese food so it was perfect - completely satisfied my cravings 🩷 The potato tempura and corn croquette had a nice light crisp and were delicious as well. Highly recommend this great spot 😋🤙

Delivery Online orders are just like walk in first come first serve basis. if it came in before the walk in it’s priority over the walk in that has still yet to order. Delivery drivers don’t have to stand in line like a customer placing an order. Change your delivery driver process been here before never had to wait in line like a customer waiting to place their order. Drivers have the right as independent contractors to not deliver your orders or decline from specific locations.
