Was a great experience and the most amazing food the house has it own history and has been in the town before there were even roads I would recommend this place 100%

Excellent service. The only restaurant in Grahamstown which pre-sets a table and offers complimentary homemade, fresh bread before a meal. Friendly service and always goes above and beyond for their customers. I had a birthday dinner party there and they set up the table with birthday balloons and other cute decorations.

What a wonderful stay over. The building beautiful, the staff were friendly and the beers were ice cold. Grahamstown itself is the only problem, its seems to be sliding into decay. The wonderful thing about The Cock House is that the restaurant is fine, in fact the food was delicious, so you don't have to risk the streets looking for dinner.

A wonderful, warm and elegant dining experience in the historic heart of Grahamstown/Makhanda. A simple yet sumptuous menu and a crackling Victorian fireplace all lend to an evening well spent.

Set up is beautiful and place is very hygienic..... Only reason why I have not rate the house 5 stars is because the wifi is very very slow, Please sort that out. xx

Lovely intimate hotel setting that feels like home, dinner was amazing and the hosts where incredible looks deceiving on the outside but the interior and gardens are such a pleasant surprise

Great history to this place. Mandela only stayed here when visiting Grahamstown, Andre Brink wrote a couple novels here as well. Accommodation cozy and restaurant has extraordinary food.

The food was amazing 👏 Had the pork belly with mash potatoes and seasoned vegetables. Their caramelised onions and that sauce 😭 game changer
