I would avoid this hotel. It's currently undergoing a lot of building work and you have to walk through a dusty, noisy construction site to enter rooms. No communal area and looks nothing like the pictures. The WiFi and phones were broken too. We also had a cockroach in our room and it didn't feel clean at all. We cancelled our second night and stayed up the road in the fabulous The One Ella for the same price.

Worst food experience ever. We ordered cheese chicken Kottu and the food received has no vegetables. The kottu dish we received looks and taste like a creamy spaghetti. Refer to the image. Complained to the manager about the food. Unfortunately he didn’t pay any attention. Manager was not apologetic about this and didn’t even greet when we leave the restaurant.

The place is fully demolished and they are in the process of rebuilding it. It is a dangerous construction site. Do not come. I literally walked through unmarked wet concrete in the lobby. The need to close.

Beautiful location, could see Ella rock from the windows and balcony. Stylish rooms. The restaurant has great views and seating arrangements. Hotel staffs were very helpful. Not so enamoured with the restaurant's food, but nothing egregious. 9/10 will visit again.

DANGEROUS ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION SITE! Rooms are ok but the hotel lobby is currently under construction. It feels pretty dangerous and you need to walk through an active construction site to get to your room. Would not recommend and would avoid if possible... Also the lady receptionist has a horrible attitude, l hope management looks into her behaviour. There are better alternatives which are safer and more pleasant to stay at

Had dinner multiple times with my wife during my visit to Ella, it was delicious! and prices are reasonable considering the location and the hotel. And the service was quick, Receptionists , staffs, Manager were good at taking care of the guest. I will stay here next time. By the way, they serve halal foods. A pleasant dining experience overall. 👍🍽️😋 Good Work Team - Definitely go for this. !!

I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant in Ella Heritage Hotel, and I was thrilled to discover that they offer halal food options. The food was absolutely fantastic, and it's safe to say it's among the best food I've ever had. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, I highly recommend visiting their restaurant to savor their delicious cuisine. It was a delightful culinary experience!

Spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast was delicious. Imali who welcomed us was very helpful booking our tours around Ella and suggesting places to eat and visit. Very happy with the service here. Also had my clothes washed through front desk and they came back clean with a beautiful fragrance

This is a construction site. They have not uploaded real pics of the hotel facade. Their intercom doesn’t works, they gave WhatsApp number to call the reception. There was regular power outage when we checked in. I asked for first aid box for a minor bruise and they didn’t had it. TV stopped working on the next day. They don’t have in house restaurant so you will need to get your food from the restaurants outside this hotel. Breakfast was good. I would not recommend staying at this hotel at all. I am uploading real pic of their facade for everyone’s reference.

Location was fairly ok, rooms located in the high floor which took significant efforts to go stairs. Luggage handling was offered. Car park located opposite to the hotel, the security man offered support but expecting some financial reward after the service. Room conditions are perfect, lucky this hotel got an air-conditioner. Hotel's restaurant was perfect, I had an enjoyable brekkie, the waiting staff was super duper friendly. Reception staff always escorting another team member for each inquiry when they visibly appearing in the rooms which I found so inappropriate and disturbing. Well, that's owner's rule. Bath towels were averagely cleaned. Perfect view to enjoy daily and I love this vibe.

He stayed in the suite and it had a great view of Ella Rock Mountain. It was good and clean. Foods are amazing and tasty. Staff is also friendly and their service is top. Well recommended.

Everything was perfect. this is the perfect hotel for an affordable price in Ella.Their staff makes this place a wonderful place. Specially from reception to the room, their staff makes it a wonderful experience. There is a lady at their reception (one with specs) who is super friendly and (others as well) tell you all the things you should see in Ella. And their restaurant staff is awesome. I think this hotel is a great example of what hiring right people makes a difference at any hotel. Sorry, forgot to mention that their breakfast is free and you can’t eat all of what they offer, it’s too much. So definitely worth the price u pay.

Foul Smelly room and bathroom; room glass ware, wash room not sanitized / disinfected. Restaurant staff not trained to serve and handle food, glassware; food not tasty at all; breakfast not worth at all; cat inside restaurant area; no driver quarters; have to climb steep staircases to reach room and no disable access, even not prior noticed it. Urgent checking out not allowed and it’s subjected to extra charges under their cancellation policy (which we were not aware) Only plus point is high pressure hot water in bathroom 😅 and view. Do not recommend! Not a decent place to be!☹️

Stayed here for 2 nights while travelling through Sri Lanka and it’s been my favourite place so far. The view from the room is amazing, you’re right in the mountains. The location is perfect, just 2 minutes from lots of bars and restaurants. The staff are really friendly and always on hand to help if you need anything. Laundry service also provided which was a huge help for us. I would highly recommend staying here, great value for money

Very good friendly service 100%. A place where everyone who goes to visit the falls can get food. 100% clean. The surroundings are also beautiful and there are facilities to stay here.

Stayed here for one night after getting the train to Ella. Rooms are perfect with amazing views of Ella Rock. Sri Lankan breakfast is a must. Close to local restaurants (Chill is worth a visit). Staff lovely. For the price ( which is cheap) a total must if your coming to Ella

Should improve on the food selection & have a better spread for breakfast. Service needs to improve. The staff are very friendly & accommodating. They close by 11 pm hence for any private party it could be disturbing to other guests & you need to do your own services after 11 pm. The repairs to the rooms should be looked at... ???

I stayed in this hotel change dates to 19.10 -20.10 because by mistake I reserved wrong dates I reguested date changes and Price went down fron 78 usd to 51 usd and i property answered that they have availability. While checked out they charge as full amount. They was electricity cut so i could even negotiate with them and show them messages. FurherMore, hotel was terrible horror, worst hotel in my life. Stuff terrible every time we waiting half an our for drinks and no one was in restaurant., very rude and nonpolate. Rooms are not even close to pictures, very old, very bad cleaned!!!!! No tv channels no hot water! AVOID THIS HORROR HOTEL!!!

Had a great stay at Ella Heritage Hotel. Luke and the rest of the team is extremely helpful. We had BB stay and Breakfast was great and tasty. You can have safe, clean stay at this cozy place.

After arriving in Ella with nowhere to stay, and having stayed in some dodgy places around Sri Lanka already, we were keen to find somewhere clean, safe and comfortable. In Ella Heritage we found JUST that. Staff were helpful enough and the rooms were really modern, cool and easy. Exactly what you need as a respite from the hiking and drinking you'll probably be doing in Ella. Great views from the multi-levelled terraces and balconies too!

We had the most horrible stay at heritage hotel. After we booked double room, the manager kicked us out of the room at 20:00 because he made a mistake and double-booked this room. He didn’t offer any compensation and even charged us for extra beds when we moved to our friend’s room.

I really Disappointed with the way they treated us. Even though we confirmed whether having wifi, tv connection, hot water and a/c prior to make the reservation they did not provided any of those. Even did not provide toilet papers or water bottles. When we try to go out to make another reservation all the staff and manager shouted badly and mentally harassed both of us by threatening us to call police and tried to hit on us. They have dunked and all staff treated us in gangster level. When we trying to request our requirements they are aggressively behave and somehow they try to keep the guest without giving prope service. Staff behave like gangsters. When we enter the hotel chief also gone out and didn't have even welcome drink. No proper vehicle parking area. I never recommend this hotel to any one in sri lanka and Specially foreigners who can't handle these type of bad experiences. 😡

This is the worst place you wanna go for lunch out or a coffee. Service is very bad and the staffs are like sheeps in farm, but they charge 10% for services. Horrible food served by miserable staff. The food was not cooked well. Rice was raw. We informed it for the staff but we never heard word of sorry. Please don't go to this place.

I don’t recommend. 1. They have no hot water for shower. Over priced: 50 USD. Poor quality. 2. They are not support Union Pay even with sign. 3. At one point, I lost digital device which placed in the room. Then magically appeared after I asked cleaning person looking for me. Be careful, I suspicious authenticity of good reviews .

Everything was perfect, the owner offered us a better room than the one we booked, so happy with everything. The breakfast was fantastic. And the staff was very warm and friendly specially the manager at front desk. So far it was the best place we stayed in ella for the maximum worth of money. However im really sorry for loosing the hotel's umbrella 😁😁

Property is conveniently located very close to the centre with a good view. Rooms and washrooms were clean and neat. The Manager and the staff were very friendly and addressed all our needs. Breakfast was well worth the money as the food was tasty with a superb spread. We'll be back if we ever happen to come to Ella again.
