Its one of iconic ship museum in Malacca city where visitors can learn about maritime history during Golden Age and Fall of Malacca state. Entry Fee is RM6 for local Malaysian with ID. Its a great place to bring childrens to let them learn and feel inside the ship. Many articles and artifact can be seen here from Portugese and Netherland invasion of Malacca. I wonder those statues inside the ship moving during the night? 🤔👻

Great collection of ships and artifact. The ship has 3 levels. You enter on the second level which combines with the 1st floor through a spiral stairs. This part contains most of the attractions. On the 3rd floor is the captains cabin. Out side of the ship under the stairs there is a shop which sells miniature replicas of ships ranging from rm 30 up to thousand. Further down there is an indoor muzium complex. There are ample parking opposite the road. Good place to bring your kids

Cool place to visit. The historical part with Portuguese and Dutch history on the city is interesting. Some other parts on sea life and the port were also present. Quite pricey for a Malaysian Museum with a normal price of 20MYR and CASH only.

We've visited a couple of times. Great place for both individuals and families alike to learn a bit about the history of Melaka. Since it's air-conditioned, perfect for escaping the outdoor heat too 😆 Ticket price is reasonable at RM10/adult and RM5/child (Malaysian) which also covers entrance to Muzium TLDM across the road.

It’s a very informative and interesting museum, but only in the main ship itself. The museum on the side is okay. With a few unexplained exhibition. The ship interior is well air conditioned. However some pointers to note is that they accept QR code payment, the best is to use this function. The cashier at the entrance tried to overcharge us. There was 2 adults (RM20 each) and 2 children (RM10 each), which should sum up to RM60. However he tried to charge us RM90. We clarified thrice before he unwillingly replied RM60 after the fourth clarification. They also force you to take photos before entering the ship stating that is for recording who went up and into the ship. But at the end prints it out and try to force you to buy. The idea of having your photo exposed or used as an advertisement for their photo services is rather infuriating. Hope they can do something about it.

It was an ok experience. Wished the photo taking session wasn't compulsory. I had to wait for a big grp to assemble and have their photo taken before I could proceed. 😅

👍🏼 👍🏼 A Maritime Museum (Muzium Samudera) that you won't want to miss. From far you may already seen the replica of Flor de La Mar, the big Portuguese ship. This museum is all about the maritime activities in the golden era of Malacca. Cleanliness: very clean and fully air-conditioned Price: RM 5 per entrance for adults. There's a photographer there taking your photo for 'record' and printed 8R photo and sell it to you at RM 35. No obligation, you may reject them or just pay for it.

Being a naval man, this was a must for me. A very well laid out museum full of history and things to see. I loved the photos and navy toys on display.

Maritime Museum is a museum about maritime activities in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. It was officially opened to the public by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on 13 June 1994, began with phase one. The phase two of the museum is housed in the old Guthrie building and was opened by State Committee for Tourism, Culture and Environment Chairman Poh Ah Tiam on 23 May 1998. The museum main exhibits the replica of Flor do Mar with 34 metres high, 36 metres long and 8 metres wide; houses exhibits, artifacts and documents from the golden era of Malacca and shows how political control of Malacca was essential to the establishment of maritime dominance in the region and also displays the trading link of Malacca from the early time through the colonial era until independence.

This is one of the must-go locations in Malacca! The ship is large, and as a history lover, i love behind the history of the ship! The best time to admire the ship is during a nice breezy night (in my opinion) though, you cannot enter the ship because it's night. Good luck with parking too 😅

Different price for foreigners even with Malaysia Pass inside the passport. Only mykad qualifies for local price. It's a boat with some models put inside and some random texts. Not recommended for any educational purposes. Took us 15min to see it all. Not recommended.

The whole area is beautiful. The world heritage city Malakka and this Museum is close to quey where one can take boat ride. The museum was closed when i visit, hence it is better to go before 3 PM to this place. If you plan to visit Malakka, go in the afternoon to return late night. After you visit over 10 museums you can enjoy lightings and lots of street music played to diffrent groups. They usually turnup by 7 in the eve.

The museum is split into three parts, the historical replica of aPortuguese merchant ship, the building next to it deals with the maritime history and aquatic life and the third part is the building across the street which deals with the history of the Royal Malaysian Navi (RMN) In general there are a few nice and interesting things to see, it is sometimes a bit superficial and the descriptions are not always connected to the items or exhibits you can see. Unfortunately the RMN vessel was temporarily closed when we visited the museum.

Initial plan was to go and step our foot on the huge ship. However it was close due to maintenance which was not informed in Google. We were advised to go and visit the museum Samudra phase 2 right next to the ship. Never mind then. Although abit upset however we still enjoyed the museum phase 2. Staff was friendly. Tickets are cheap. Varieties of ships/rows/boats that we can learn from here. And that was all.

A place for history lovers the ship got 3 floors, and u are required to take of ur shoese upon entrance, on the top most u will have some model, the middle floor si full of some written stuff and the deepest floor has some historical coins. Over all good for kids.

Good exposure for young children and students. Recommend for school trips. Must check with Their operating hours. Because last time I went there, the museum was close at 5pm. Then today is was open until 10pm… Ticket price for Malaysian RM10

It was a memorable visit and my wife was impressed by the galleon mock up condition. I provided my wife with some documentary notes on the Flore De La Mar to make this trip more informative. Good job on the maintenance of this historic vessel.

cost RM 6 for local and RM12 for foreigners. For those who love ship will find this interesting. But I'm not a big fans for that. Lol My friend told me this is a great experience..So I guess this is good place to visit. Have fans and air conditioning inside ..That's the main point I drop by here. Lol Overall..Not bad. Bit boring for me.

the wooden ship museum goes to the museum to pay for foreign tourists myr 10 and make audio pay again myr 3. not worth because it can't go up until the top is closed. make the photo object outside better because the boat is rather dark. good for children's experiences.

The price was very cheap.Suprisingly for every ticket you able to visit Museum in front of the ship (maritim) and museum across the Museum Samudera which is Museum TLDM I advise to visit the place in the morning or late evening as the weather is very hot.Overall it was a nice experience for a Malaysian to learn about some history.

  • 4/5 M Tanveer Hossain P. 5 years ago on Google
This museum is a big wooden ship. The museum is three-storied. If it is raining better to take guard in the bigger shelter. The map room is very hot. Inside the museum the history of Melacca has been nicely depicted. As the museum is confined comparatively in a smaller area sometimes noises can't be controlled. Otherwise it's a nice place to visit.

A museum in a ship replica. A good source of information about Portugueuse arrivals in Melaka.

  • 4/5 Shaun P. 9 months ago on Google
Good to visit once. But be aware. They take a photo and print it without your permission so make it hard to refuse to purchase. They even calculated the price wrong when entering so should complain.(changed child price to adult)

Beutiful ship in the city, not in the sea. It looks like travel back to year 1500. Going inside, there's a lot of information available to be read, mainly focus on the history of Malacca itself. It is a 3 deck shop and you can climb to the top too. Recommended to visit.

  • 5/5 Steve S. 2 years ago on Google
An engaging experience for the children. Lots of text to read, maybe too much for my 7 year old. The entrance fee includes two more museums and this makes it very good value for money. This is an interesting and cool (temp) way of spending a couple of hours.

  • 3/5 Evan M. 10 months ago on Google
Cool getting to climb up onto the ship. They give a good historical account of melacca however did not really focus on the colonial aspect of it as you might expect.( they had some information but didn't delve too deeply into it)

If you want to know about Malacca's history then it will be best place for you. Ticket for native RM 6 and foreign 13

Was last at this museum when I was a child and thought that the ship was cool and I still think so upon visiting again recently. Also quite interesting to learn about Melaka's history as a port even though the museum is not very big. A must-see for me.

  • 3/5 S J B. 2 years ago on Google

Poor experience, Google mention 9am open but there put up sign "Buka 9:30am" Meaning open at 9:30am. Many facilities no open not sure if it's still functioning or not. Don't waste your money. Advise to the local authorities with these kind of work attitude and quality don't ever think this landmark will bring any income

  • 4/5 E R. 2 years ago on Google
Flor de la Mar is a stunning reminder of the galleon ships of the past. Outside, a relic of the age of exploration. Inside a memoir to the explorers and slaves of the industry.

  • 4/5 Brian M. 1 year ago on Google
Good display of artifacts in the Flor de la Mar. Unfortunately some parts of the ship shows decay and requires attention. Stairs leading up to the upper deck is pretty steep and dangerous but that is probably an original design. Captains cabin was unfortunately locked. Overall a good educated visit.

  • 5/5 Ro M. 1 year ago on Google
What is the value of one man to the ocean? Find out at the maritime museum, where the power of the sea cannot be denied. Many describe Malaysia as the nation of oceans, and at the maratime museum you will see this for yourself. You may be wondering how much such an education could cost. Just RM20, a bargain for a museum which displays unparalleled passion for the underwater world. I implore you to visit, and what a mara-fine time you will have. Please do not jump the fence; you are on the wrong side of the entrance if this appears to be the only option.
