Chef Win, a warm and friendly owner, told me he worked in several hotels in Kuala Lumpur for nearly 20 years, and his dishes are fine dining style. He started this restaurant 6 years ago. The fried whole Barramundi was so delicious that all smiling faces around the table gave thumbs up. Enjoy! (2021-12)

My review would be based on 3.5 stars if only Google allows half stars rating. Plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. Tables & seatings are quite crowded in the restaurant with very limited (if any) aircondition/cooler so be prepared to dine with plenty of sweat on hot days. All the dishes we’ve ordered were delicious (although not the authentic Chinese flavours). Hot & sour soup was tasty but very spicy so be mindful! The whole barramundi were everyone’s favourite. Overall, I’d recommend this place so you can at least try it for yourself and judge their food based on your liking :)

Heard their big name for a while and finally got time to go and tried myself. Yes, I approved! Sincerely one of the best Malaysian Chinese food in Perth. And they also cater some special dishes such as Chillies crab etc. You need to make booking for certain dishes though. Definitely worth the trip!

Our favourite go to place for their curry fish head dish. We've tried other dishes there over time (sorry no pics, will update post if I find them) like the crispy kai Lan, salted crispy pork, yin yang noodle and fried kuay teow, all of which we enjoyed. Prices have risen but I guess that's based on the situation currently with most restaurants. However at Banana Leaf, you can be assured that you get delicious food. Staff are always attentive and friendly and a some other reviews have mentioned they can get busy at times but this just goes to show the quality of the food there.

Amazing food, the owner and entire team are so friendly. Loved every dish we’ve tried! They did an awesome job hosting my partner’s birthday celebration with 20+ people. We love coming here.

Awesome and very authentic Malaysian food. We had butter prawns, sambal kangkung, yam ring with kungpo chicken and lemongrass fried chicken. they were all good. Sambal kangkung was a bit spicy but didn't stop me from going back to it. Service was good and reasonably priced.

4.5 star Have dined here multiple time. I would say they specialised in seafood dishes. All of their seafood menus were fresh and just yum. My favs were their Prawn with shell; Crispy Nestum and Butter Egg Prawn. They are just so deliciously juicy and large, Fish Head Curry and Razor clam. Recently tried their lunch special. I loved their Fried Fish Head Meehon soup, the Banana Leaf Special Egg noodle was just ok unfortunately.

Always very good service here and food never dissapoints. If you are after Chinese fusion with a twist of Malay this is the place to be. I quite enjoy the food here more than your normal Chinese food. They serve interesting dishes one of which I didn't eat today but if you go ask for the king prawns with eggs through it [Crispy flaky textures of eggs....Hard to explain but delicious]. We had the yam nest with salt and pepper pork chops today and it was so good. The pork was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside [some places can cook that dry]. The fried chicken dish was also very delicious as it was also crispy. Kang Kong with sambal and tofu dishes were also nice too.

Been here quite a few times for dinner. We usually order 2 or 3 of the same dishes, and then try some new dishes. The food is absolutely delicious and always consistent. The last time we dined in I forgot to take photos because we were all hungry and I forgot lol.

Weird name choice for the business. Was expecting south Indian food when meeting friends there for dinner. Turns out to be unreal Malaysian Chinese food that's prepared by a non-Chinese family. Kudos to the chef for the mastery of everyday dishes that Malaysians took for granted at home. Seriously, got to try it to believe it. It's insane. Granted, the fish head curry wasn't fantastic because of the choice of fish but the rest of the dishes that I have tried are delicious. Especially the paper wrapped chicken (pre order required). If they change the business name and decor, I have no doubt there will be a line out the door.

One of a better Malaysian restaurant. The foods are quite authentic amd delicious. Was not able to take sufficient photi to share bit we orderee 6 dishes. Yam basket, Nestum prawn, Sambal Kang Kung, Lemon chicken, steam fish, Sambal petai. Eaay to find parking but would be better to book if its for more than 4 ppl. I was introduced to this place. I will cont back to try other dishes.

I was there, despite a 40 mins drive, attracted by the mudcrab special on social media and the many good reviews here. Be prepared for a long wait. With one table who ordered prior to us, we waited for over 30 mins for our first dish. There is only one person cooking. We ordered Singapore style chilli crab, as shown. It was quite a bit off how it should be, note it does not have the eggy sauce and the sauce is too sour, almost like tomato feel, maybe way too much vinegar. The fried buns is likely frozen and powdery inside, we ordered 5 as recommended but had only 0.5. The yam cake cashew chicken is okay except the yam cake is too salty. Sizzling Japanese egg tofu is also too salty. We didn't finish any of the dish, except finished digging out all the crab meat, lol. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience unfortunately. I don't understand the high rating so maybe I ordered the wrong dishes. I wouldn't be coming back but hope things will improve.

This restaurant serves Malaysian style food. The name is Banana Leaf but it does not serve Indian banana leaf curry. However they do sell a Curry fish head dish which is quite authentic. Also try the deep fried Kai Lan vegetable dish. The restaurant is not very large so you should book to avoid disappointment.

Good service, fairly easy parking and wheel chair excess. Like all restaurants some of the dishes excellent. Good family restaurant

This was by far and away the best laksa I've had in Perth. I'll be going back to try more amazing dishes!
