A definite over hyped chain store nasi kandar restaurant which serves dishes that are very common fusion Indian Muslim viands with curry as they main signature dish. Restaurant is pretty clean and service is satisfactory which saved its rating from me. Taste is acceptable by prices are really unreasonable compared to most restaurants that serves the same food. Try to avoid this chain restaurant if you have any choice. Highly not recommended.

This is a lucky find for me. Walked pass and decided to give it a try. Not bad google map reviews for this place. It was about 9+ in the evening and there many people piling into the place. Many tables and it was filling up fast. Luckily still short queue about 10mins. Nasi kandar served with briyani rice is just amazing delicious. Soaked my rice with different curries and sauces. Added fried chicken, squid, hard boiled eggs, lady fingers and a beautiful lamb shank. My bill came up to RM82 with the lamb shank taking up most of it. I must say I totally enjoyed all that food. And washed it all down with a tall cup of ice lemon tea at RM2.55. You can order other food/drinks at your table from any of the many servers walking around. Only Nasi Kandar needs queueing to select your choice of dishes. After you order your stuff, the server will provide you with a numbered payment card/stand which you have to bring to the cashier once you are done with your meal. Simple and fuss-free. I am adding my 5stars for this place, hope you guys enjoy it too.

A well-known spot in Kuala Lumpur! This place exudes authenticity, offering a burst of flavors at an incredibly affordable price - really cheap. Despite its unassuming appearance, the food is very delicious. While the staff may be a bit slow, the overall experience makes it an essential destination!

A favourite spot for "Nasi Kandar." You can not miss the fried chicken. My favourite is "Mee Goreng" and definitely a must try. The only issue is that the waiter has to be called several times.

FOOD VERDICT : 1) Nasi Kandar Good portion. The mixed curry gravy tastes quite good, not the best I've tasted and the gravy texture is slightly less thick than expected. The veggies and the fried chicken is good. No crunchy crumbs but the received wing part is quite big and the chicken meat is well-cooked inside. Papadom is decent. Thin crust, crispy and good. 2) Limau Ais I rarely reviewed drinks but this limau ais almost had me fooled for an expensive drink for a second because typical limau ais usually in clear colour but this one in yellowish tone served in a slim Collins glass. It doesn't have a typical cordial taste too, tasteful sour with nice sweet kick. THE GOOD : • The place is massive and quite clean with plenty of seating availability • Efficient service by the staff and they all wore uniforms with unique Malaysian flag headcovers • The price is quite reasonable and fair considering its affluent location • Massive selection of lauk (side dishes) to choose from for nasi kandar • Fairly extensive menu selection besides nasi kandar • Located in the affluent location of Jalan Ampang with very close proximity to KLCC, W Hotel • Close to LRT KLCC metro or Bukit Nanas monorail station • Online food delivery and self-pickup are available via Grab Food, Foodpanda • Toilet and surau are available in the premise • Open for 24 hours THE NOT-SO-GOOD : • The place can get quite crowded with customers at times TIPS : • For public commutes, the closest metro station is Bukit Nanas monorail (6 min walk). Another alternative station is LRT KLCC (9 min walk)

Visited May 2022, about dinner time Eatery about 50% capacity. Environment was clean, neat and fairly relaxing. Usual mamak fare eg roti, naan etc Teh tarik a bit sweet although we told them to reduce the sugar. Food portion seem to have shrunk a bit considering that food prices are rising Parking is inside the premises and can be full at times.

First time to eat here and had a good meal! I had no idea how to order and what to order but thankfully, the nice man in front of me was friendly and started a conversation. He ended up recommending me the chicken, biryani rice, and to top it off with his favorite “mixed curry sauces” - which is basically combining all the different curry sauces available. That was the best recommendation I’ve ever had! The meal was good overall and I liked it. Price is ok - not cheap, not too expensive. Will go back here again probably!

Every time I go to KL I go to this place because their food is delicious. However the service is really bad. I have seen customers (local men) arrived after me that have been served before. Once I waited for 20 minutes and I haven’t been even given the menu, completely ignored! Waiters and waitresses never smile, say hello, you are welcome or goodbye. I hope this is not related to different culture because it would be very sad

Writing this review now sitting in this place. Writing this review with lot of expectations as a fan for Malaysian cuisine. We are here as foreign tourists to Malaysia and this is our first restaurant to taste in KL. Overall not a great experience, *Service not upto the level, You need to wait for a longer time on your order, you need to look for a serving person for a long time to attend you. People are not vigilant. *Nasi goreng ayam I ordered was not great as the fried chicken was not hot and I am sure that it is not fresh. * The sambhar for dosai not good again. Ok the consequent visits during my stay in KL, tried mee goreng, nasi lamek, murthabak and rojak. Overall not impressed with this place. Can improve a lot.

This is my first time visiting this restaurant. Why 3 stars? -1 star deducted because of limited parking spots and very crowded. Though i must admit the good location for attracting customers because it is literally beside W hotel and KLCC is just right behind the restaurant. -Another star deducted because of the rude worker that handles at Nasi Campur section. While i was choosing which dish that i’d like to have, he asked me to be quick by saying “cepat cepat cepat!” with a stern voice. His face expression says it all. There was only a customer behind me and there was nothing to be rush of. Nevertheless, other mamak waiters provide fast service to us. They quickly took our orders as soon we were seated. -The mee goreng mamak is delicious for me, its unique taste differs from other regular mee goreng mamak. The nasi campur is nice as well, just like regular nasi at other mamak stalls.

Ordered from grab food. Delivery took around minutes. Not the best kandar we’ve ever tried. Not really impressive. Ordered ikan kari, ayam madu, ayam pedas and kambing. The kambing was the best among 4.

Imagine entering a food wonderland where the menu is longer than my friend list! I strolled in solo, but their variety made me wish I had a foodie army. My stomach RSVP'd for more, but my appetite needs a backup squad. The prices? Wallet-friendly – my wallet is delighted, and my stomach is plotting its strategic expansion! Can't wait to assemble my next feast team and conquer the delicious realms. As always enjoy yourself!

My husband is so so picky. He doesn’t like to try new food but when we went to Malaysia we gave it a try. He loved it so much specially one of the waiters was so friendly and trying to satisfy him. During our trip we had our breakfast there every single day. Their tea tarik was unforgettable. I open my pics there and remember those beautiful days in kuala. I hope to go back soon.

The busiest mamak restaurant in Jalan Ampang. Visited after midnight, yet the restaurant was still full of people and difficult to get parking. Nice view of KLCC - very close. Service was excellent. Despite many customers, food was served within few minutes only. Food taste good but tandoori chicken is quite small. Perfect place to dine or just having drinks and snacks at midnight cause many other restaurants especially in the mall are already closed. Strategic location - near to visitors' spot such as KLCC and Saloma Bridge.

This Hawker was literally a minutes walk from our hotel, we visited many times during or stay in KL. Food variety and option are great and affordable! Very clean environment! Please beware, this place can get very busy!

Ridiculously overpriced. First I thought it was all together so I just went to the first food stall, then realized it's all different food stalls. No wonder why this one was the least busy. The guy serving immediately wanted to serve me a lot even though I told him not to because I wanted to try first and there is a lot so why just try one thing, then when they were counting the items he started to put more without even asking, then his colleague came up with a total of 70+ for a plate that you can easily find on the streets for a fraction of the price. I then told him I would rather cancel and go elsewhere so he removed 2 pieces of shrimp and suddenly became 37, which is still a very high price but he insisted I could not cancel, I didn't want to argue so I just paid but honestly if these are the prices at this place, they are beyond insane. I got to add that I thought about paying with credit card to not run out of cash so he took my cc and I wanted to be there to be safe, cloning is very popular here, he told me to stay but I couldn't trust so I just went to the counter to get back my cc and pay in cash although he had it for some time, enough to do something. What a rip off! I do not recommend coming here. If you walk a block from here you will find a street full of hawkers selling the same food.

Recommended by my friends and neighbours. Not sure what the fuss is about. The food here, mainly Indian Mamak food, is no better than the average Mamak stall. The Roti Canai wasn't anywhere near crispy. It was stodgy, and the dal and chicken curry condiments dull. Although we ordered Mee Goreng Ayam, unlike most Mamak stalls, there were only a few small chunks of chicken, and a couple of chunks of deep fried Indian Rojak dough... 🤔 A shame for a promising eatery.

Food is great! Abit pricey, but the food taste great. Sometimes, the food, especially roti canai, will take very long to come to you. Sometimes, you get a different order. Coz when the servers take your order, they don't listen well. Happened a few times when I visited KL. But I forgave them, coz the wrong food they delivered, was also nice. So, no complaints there. Overall, good place to eat and hang out. Nearby to many touristy spots too

This place hardly need more reviews, but it is just such a good value place for a really tasty meal. Airflow through the open plan eatery is bonus. All tables kept clean, cuttlery had a few dirty ones but just pick new ones.

This is one of the busiest outlets as it is located in the heart of the busiest road of Jalan Ampang. However their service system was good and efficient so it wasn't take too long to queue or take order from the table. The staffs were very attentive and always checked their customers' food order. The parking on the other hand was a different story so expect to turn around few times for parking luck

Legends continue in the midst of MCO 3.0. Now, the restaurant has fewer customers but the food continues to taste good. Price is slightly expensive maybe higher operating cost in this MCO period.

Just drank water here. So so. Not sure about food but it seems people are lining up for nasi kandar so it must be ok. Good meet up place with family and friends. Parking is a lot but since the place is a large, expect them to be full especially on weekend night

Ordered nasi biryani with their famous fried chicken, and also telur masin and bayam. All was good. The chicken was tender, the biryani was fragrant, the curry was nice and flavorful. The service was also fast, and the place is quite clean, so make me comfy. Overall, definitely will be back again if come to KL.

Clean and well managed. The teh tarik is so good and the burung puyoh goreng is a must try. The rojak is good too. It cld be crowded at lunch time. Long queque. Parking is available inhouse if u go there at off peak hours

It was a real convenience to have this restaurant right if front of our Hotel but this a an overhyped place for sure. Staff were nice except the Cashier who seemed to be really unhappy that customers were paying. Price of a small to medium size single fried Prawn was 16/- MYR which of cause we didn’t buy due to the price, but the rest of the food prices were okay.

Located close to the Petronas towers We ate here on our first night in Kuala, No alcohol served , just really nice juices Popular with the locals Have a look around the different food stations to see what you fancy Huge prawns in a curry sauce, meat and chicken curry looked amazing Plenty to choose from for everyone Take a seat and order with the waiter Great food although some items can be a little bit too spicy but very tasty. Don't expect anything fancy here, just good food

Delicious options, and many options at that. The roti canai was lovely! A great place to try nasi kandar because the locals absolutely love it! A massive line to get it. The drinks were refreshing too. The garlic naan had proper garlic laced through the dough. Highly recommend for a late night eat - it was busy but everything came promptly!

Amazing, unique dishes that are mouthwatering. I’ve never seen or heard of these dishes/drinks and they were all mind boggling. I’ve read and watched videos regarding Malaysian cuisine and I’m speechless. It’s very unique. I highly recommend this establishment. Go hungry and sample a variety of dishes.

Got stuck trying to exit for 20 minutes because they didn't redirect traffic despite allowing a garbage truck in going the wrong way. Then we got shouted at rather rudely by one of their employees who wanted us to reverse, which turned out to be useless since traffic was backed up with another 11 cars behind. I've resolved to never step foot or bring tourists here again. Leaves a really bad impression of our country.

From very humbled beginnings originating from Penang, 3 friends with a passion for food & hearts dedicated to the locals, started from a corner shop & built it into the famed chain it is today with an impressive 28 restaurants across Malaysia & even offering catering services for events. Having the honour to be approached by them to taste their food, we armed ourselves with our Leica & our rumbly tummies. Boy were we in for a treat! We were treated to a spread of local delicacies such as Nasi Minyak, Nasi Briyani, Lamb Shank, Kari Kepala Ikan, Udang Goreng, Burung Puyuh and Chettinadu Chicken accompanied by sides such as Sayur Kobis & Dalca. The Nasi Minyak & Nasi Biryani was leaning towards the lighter end of the scale taste wise. However, this might have been intentional as every other dish was flavourful & simply exploding with spices. Therefore, had both Nasi been a little stronger tasting the end result might have been over powering. But in this case, they went in perfect harmony. From the texture & flavours we could tell the ingredients used were fresh & more importantly dishes such as the Burung Puyuh & Chettinadu Chicken were juicy & tender within. In addition, the curries were simply bursting with aromatic flavour with a splash of bitter sweet & a touch of citrus leaving us craving for more. Though their dishes were a little spicy, it was simply too addictive to resist resulting in us flooding our Nasi with more. Thereafter we were given a short tour of the restaurant including the counter & kitchen where the cooks make the magic happen! All in all a very delicious meal & delightful experience! If you are looking for a place to Buka Puasa during this Ramadan period or simply a place to enjoy a local meal, look no further! Our full review is on Instagram (@monk3yseendo)

The best nasi kandar I have ever tasted before! The food was excellent and there are varieties of side dishes to offer. The taste of each one of are beyond comprehensive hahaha. So the staffs and the waiter were efficient and skillful. Don't worry about the portions as they generously poured a large amount of the side dishes on your nasi kandar and surely it will satisfy your hunger in no time! For the first timer, this is the best place for you to taste the closest Nasi Kandar from Penang.

👍👍 Good place with good halal food. The ambient is nice (with soothing music just like when I was visiting Spa) After ordering, we got bread and butter to snack on while waiting for food. I really liked their hospitality. Nowadays not many restaurants do this...so, thumbs up! No wrong orders, and the f...

👍👍 Nasi Briyani Ayam Madu is so amazing!! We’ve tried so many mamaks already, but Mahbub is the best. 10/10. Price range was okay for me. The chicken also very big. Can request for drumsticks without any extra charges! We queued for 15 mins to be seated in the aircond area. 15 mins was not that long...
