Petani Beach Chalet has been closed since 2020. As of 2023, there is a big building in construction here (I heard it's a new Barat resort, but I'm not 100% sure). I have no idea why 55 people all of a sudden left a review of this place 4 months before mine, when it had been not just closed, but also demolished for a couple of years. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Could be a nice place with other owners but we eat very well.

The beach itself is very charming, with palm trees fringing the sand. Tragically the coral here has bleached and died. Still some fishes about, including a shark both times we went snorkeling here (same species as at shark point). The accommodation here has good Malaysian food. Wooden huts themselves are basic but fine, assuming you are ok with the usual tropical fauna dropping by for a visit.

Remote beach reachable from Coral bay with a 20 to 30 min walk. An adventurous Walking trail where you will surely see a monitor lizard or 2....3...4. No worries they are harmless. The beach itself is beautiful and if you are looking for being by yourselves this is one of the good spots to do it.

Pro: Perfect place if you are looking for a peaceful gateway. Nice and clean beach right infront of your doorstep. 15 minutes walking to Fishermen Village for supply. Another route to Long Beach available thru the jungle. Good and affordable meals serve at the cafe. No loud music, no crazy crowd. Their swings and hammock by the beach highly instaworthy. Cheap. Con: Old chalet. no TV, water heater, A/C. Some part of the beach is full with dead coral, a bit sharp if your are walking or swimming barefoot. ---

in the chalet is quite convenient but most of the time you will go outside to the beach to relax especially with the food. the squid is so tasty, but thats what i ordered , hoping to try other dish tho. but overall the beach is chill

We stayed in alunan where the food was not bad but we preferred to go to petani cafe for the real Malaysian food experience! After 3 days at alunan resort we stayed one night at petani: it’s only the basics but not bad. We really felt like a part of the family.

Very quiet beach and that what we are looking for during our romantic getaway! Even was a short trip, but we enjoyed every second. From Petani beach, its easy access to walk along forest trek to Mira beach, chomel/ coral bay and long beach! Fully recommend stay here!
