Starting with tickets, book the tickets in advance from their website if the plan is on busy days. I had some bad experience with audio guides on other places, hence hesitated to choose that option. But for me with kids, I can't afford the speed of guides, as I need to take rest then and there. Hence went with the option of audio guide. Surprisingly, the audio guide here is the best I have never experienced before and it impressed me that I chose the best option. It properly guides us with the picture on the display where to go next and how to go. It also ensures whether we reached that appropriate spot and then only it started explaining. Hence I would suggest to take the audio guide option. Even in case if you face any trouble with the device during the tour, the staffs over there are happy to help you to fix it on the spot. Just ensure you hear the voice properly before starting the tour. If not change it immediately at the counter. As an UNESCO recognised site, you should know the historical value of this castle. There are few museums covered during the tour in which I liked the Amber museum and the weapon collections. I personally enjoyed exploring the biggest brick castle in the world :)

It was a great experience visiting this place and the place was maintained very well.I took the audio guided tour with together with the ticket costed me 60pzl( 15 US dollars approx). The place have lot of historical facts and artifact's.The approximate time required to visit the place is about 2-3hrs.Outside the museum at the restaurant eating and drinks is available with limited options. They also provide lockers included in the ticket to keep your small bag and jacket so that you can roam around freely.Camera is allowed and you are free to take photos inside just keep your flash off.Must visit place in Gdansk for history lovers.

I highly recommend visiting but please wear comfortable shoes. As the walk around the castle is long but exciting. The audio guide is a huge plus too, depending on your language. All the vital information is available on the website, which makes it easier to plan your visit. I recommend buying the tickets online as well. It’s fast and smooth. The Customer service is amazing and the smiles on their faces made the tour more enjoyable.

It was my first time in Poland after 13 years (though i have been a 3x before), I have never been anywhere but my home town, Pelplin. First time at Malbork Castle. Absolutely amazing. The outside is so beautiful, and still preserved remarkably well. I didnt get to go inside, but walking the grounds was a lot of walking and so much to see! Definitely recommend getting the audio mp3 player at the front desk. The history is intense. Well...all of Polands wars and battles were intense. Please visit!!! It is so much fun!!! PS: if you go during hot season, bring an umbrella and sunglasses and water. I didnt see any bathrooms there, except the ones they used in the 13th century. Yes girl..the 13th century. Its been standing for over 700 years. That alone is mind blowing. And it will probably stand for another 300!

Great place to learn about little nuggets of interesting history in the various parts of the world's biggest brick castle. The audio guide does a great job in explaining and in my opinion, beats following a tour group.

This was a stop on a cruise. Maybe the best tour of the whole trip. Most other "castles" were just towers. This was a whole complex with dual motes and numerous buildings. Also had a rich history. Tour guide said we went on an off day. With way less tour groups. Was very nice.

The largest brick-build castle in the world. Interesting place. Audioguides helps greatly. Huge territory takes around 3 hours, so quite exhausting, but interesting. Worth to visit.

Unbelievable place. A must see. Highly recommend the audio tour guide over a human one though, as it gives the same info but allows to tour at your own pace.

Lovely brick castle that’s been rebuilt many times. Really good audio guides that start automatically when you enter a room tells the story of the castle and the order of the Teutonic Knights. Set aside 3-4 hours to see the entire castle. So much to see and learn! There is a kiosk in the courtyard and a restaurant inside the courtyard by the entrance.

UNESCO World Heritage due to the castle being the largest brick built in northern Europe. Magnificently restored and the English audio guide explains well. I skipped a book exhibition and sped through the amber exhibition to get to see the rest of the castle more leisurely. 3 hours minimum is needed for this castle.

Great place to visit. We took the 3,5 h tour with family discount. We chose to buy our tickets at the ticket machine but would by tickets online next time, because you have to wait a little time. You mustn’t take the tour with the guide, even though it seems to be very good. But we chose to go alone because it was the right choice for us with small children. Wasn’t that easy with a stroller but you can leave it if you want in the yard of the castle. We recommend the extra trip on the top of the tower for 12 zloty. You will have a decent view. The audio guide is very informative. All together it’s a beautiful castle. The restaurant next to the riverside is also very nice.

The castle is very huge, the first half of the tour takes about 3-3.5 hours. We started at about 10 am, and after a lunch break it turned out that we have little time left before the castle closes (16:00). But that’s a good reason to get back here again.

Amazing large castle which has been sensitivity restored. Fascinating to walk around and learn a little about the chequered history. You can definitely spend a few hours there. It is like wandering around a film set as it seems so perfect and romantic.

Excellent audio tour, you can easily spend 4 hours here, going over elaborate collections of items related to the castle, region and time period.

This is a big and beautiful castle. Looks great from the outside but inside you can only see 2 rooms- toilet and tomb.

Fantastic castle! Desently charged. You should plan to spend at least three hours there. Audio guides are available. If you brought your pet along you can leave it at a special place for pets since animals aren't allowed inside. There is a possibility that the place for your pet is occupied, so don't forget to ask if there is any place left (this service is free of charge).

So exciting and beautiful! Various expositions don't let you bore. But be ready to spend there at least 3 hours, most likely about 5. Historically entertaining, but please keep in mind they tent to name "polish" all things, which are natively belarusian, ukrainian, german and others (like Slutskija pajasy, historical and political persons) Audioguide is great, so are the exponats, while transportation to the castle could be much better and interactive workshops or other close activities could be just awsome

If you love history, then this place is a must to see. You will need a whole day if not more to see everything. Make sure to purchase ticket with a tour guide, it is more interesting.

Nice place with spirit of ancient, medieval times. Our guide, Helena, made this trip joyful and very interesting. I'm impressed by technologies that were used in builduling and renovating the Castle.

The castle Marienburg is fascinating. The exhibition and the audio guide were really exceptional. We stayed with kids for almost four hours and all of us enjoyed it. The entrance fee is high but worth it. Buying online tickets beforehand was not necessary. Maybe it’s crowded in the summer but not around our Easter holidays.

It is a must to see this place. In-depth multilingual audio guide is a great companion during your visit, don't miss it! Architecture is just mind blowing and museum inventory is definitely not lacking in any way. 10/10

Probably the best audio guide I had, very mind blowing castle and you can see almost everything, highly recommend a day trip to this place from Gdańsk, however ticket sales are limited with time slots

  • 5/5 Ana María Barrado O. 2 years ago on Google
The biggest castle in the world! Really well conected to Gdańsk city by train in just half an hour aprox. The price of ticket looks expensive as for atractions and museums in Poland but seriously same price like in other attractions in Europe and considering one's can expend few hours if not whole day inside investigating the rooms of the Great Master, the backyards, the salons, the paintings and several exhibitions. For all of this price is even cheap! Prepare yourself with few sandwiches but don't worry about water, there's a fountain around the back of main backyard. The best is to go around the castle and only then to enter and get lost in such an amazing place. Audio guided proved to be really useful and necessary to learn and understand the life in a castle never conquered. When you finish the visit, cross the river and get the must have picture of the castle

Even though i know it has been rebuild it is still impressive and worths a visit, i do not regret stopping on my way to Gdansk. Many congratulations also to those who made the surrounding area it is just beautiful.

Very rich historical place to discover. Most of the signs are in English too. Nevertheless I recommend to get an audio guide or guided tour for the best experience. Plan at least 3 to 4 hours for your visit.

Very interesting and in great condition. Only shame is that little of the original interior is left , but still absolutely stunning. Tour guides don't bore with random facts and dates instead show what it was really like to live in the castle durning the middle ages. The castle itself is very big so bring comfortable shoes as you're setting yourself up for 3 hours of walking If you want to buy any souvenirs make sure to bring cash as not all places offer payment by pin. 10/10 would recommend
