An excellent stop midway between Gauteng and Durban on the N1. Has a filling station, farm stalls and several franchise take aways and restaurants in one spot. Ample and safe parking. Play area for the kids. Toilets etc. I would recommend stopping here for a comfort break or to grab a bite.

THE stop between Johannesburg and Durban. With a filing station, takeaways, restaurants, clean bathrooms, kids play area, animal feeding spot, ample parking ... Bergview seems to grow at every visit. The best is the surrounding mountains with tops often covered in clouds on smoggy and rainy days ♡

Excellent service at Engen . Lots of variety wrt eating places. Neat And clean. Quite busy at lunchtime on a Friday.

I have stopped here many times for over a decade. Lovely refreshing spot while traveling. Engen petrol station, an assortment of fast food restaurants to pick from, a convenient store, and ample bathrooms which are kept relatively clean for the most past. No complaints here and many lovely memories at this stop.

The place is so clean even their toilets are clean all the time.

Went to the wimpy. Sports group. We contacted the manager to preorder so we could get on the road again. Staff were super helpful and friendly. They had all our orders ready. Restaurant was clean and tidy.

Bergview was exciting and the Park is beautiful even though it could do with more manicure. The Park has a great view from the entrance with enchanting view of Pine trees lining the passage way

Great place to stop yet its very busy, when you need essentials or a quick quick stop to grab something it's not the place to be.

Lovely place to stop after a long drive. Plenty of clean restrooms. There is such a great variety of restuarants to choose from. There is also a breath taking view and garden. Also spotted a cute play area for kids.

Spoiled for choice on food - variety is wide on refreshments. Good and clean environment.

14 June 2023. Lots of parking available today. Bathrooms very clean and tidy. Many different restaurants/ fast food outlets. Great place to break the journey and stretch your legs. Some farm animals and antelopes on the premises.

This place is ideal for a halfway stop. Lots of choices for food...there is a MacDonalds there too. Stop by the Biltong shop for Nightshade jam ...absolutely tasty.

Best place for a quick stop and relax and have such a breath taking view of the mountains.So much different varieties of restaurants.I totally loved it.

Awesome place to stop when you want to refuel and grab a meal or rest for a bit. Good variety of food franchises and I suggest Nandos should open before 10am.

We always stop here on our way to and from the coast, good selection of restaurants/take aways and most importantly, clean toilets!!!

We got the quality rest we needed as we were driving back to Durban from The Vaal. Got the refreshments, meals from Mugg & Bean and received quality service also from McDonald's. We also refilled the vehicle and received good service from Engen Petrol station

Find this is always a great place to stop on my trips between Gauteng and the coast. Bathrooms are always spotless and a great selection of sit down or take away eateries. I have also only had great service from the team on the petrol station forecourt.

the location is well situated the serurity is a concern sois the toilet situation i saw people paying to use the toilets the smell at the terminal is appauling and other than the buses that come through there one has to wonder how does anything work.

A centre with everything in one place and a place for everything. Have-a-break, bring kids for a party, have something to eat, petrol, shopping and much more. Well kept and inviting 😉🤗😊

Great place to stop,when you have a long journey.They have a big variety of places to eat in,or take aways.Lot of little shops to visit.Staff are friendly.The toilets are clean. Gardens are well looked after.You can walk you dog to stretch its legs.We always make a point to stop there.

This is one stop I always use when traveling past and around Harrismith. A clean place with good restaurants. The view around is great. Place very well kept and maintained.

My family and I have been returning to this stretch of the Berg for over 25 years. Access to all amenities makes this a good place to station oneself for a week or two. If you love hiking, as we do, there is the immediate benefit of getting on to the less walked and more complex trails that either commence from or end at Monks Cowl forest reserve. It is a fantastic place for families looking to relax or outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure.
