Cool concept. Seems expensive but actually very reasonable! Can't wait to do it again. Absolutely recommend vs. staying at a distant Amazon guest house, where you are going to be making some long transits to and from the hotel and also long transits from the hotel to see and do things. Pros-- room was clean and everything worked. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food plentiful. Some good local fruit and river fish options at the buffet. Best thing was the excursions: all included in the rate! High quality, local guides were wonderful. Cons-- the ship could use a renewal; however, for this price point and the fact that most of our time was spent on the top deck with the pool and bar overlooking the river, I wouldn't change a thing.

I took this cruise with my wife a few years ago. The boat is a little old and there were only about 30 people on the ship so it was "dead" most of the time. However, the food and unlimited booze was great. The excursions, for me, made the trip. Parana fishing, night time caiman hunting, pink dolphins, etc. Very fun. The guides are great.

Let me tell you…… If you want to sail the Amazon in style this is the vessel, the staff, the rooms, the food, the air conditioning even wifi are great, one feels as if you are in a dream. The excursions and tour guides are well presented and a great experience. I have already planned to return next year and take the longer cruise.

I had a magnificant stay in my Iberostar experience. Wonderfull staff, very caring. The tours are increadible, a real Amazon rainforest experience. I saw many different animals, and had a great explanation of the nature. 10/10 would go again.

This was not a 5 star experience, more of a 3... The rooms are OK, the original AC was replaced with a very noisy one. Fitness center was very very basic. Food was avarage (we informed the operator in advance that we are veggies, but no special dishes prepared for us, we just had to settle for the side dishes of the rest of the guests). Most of the staff could not speak English. The daily excursions were OK, however in the bi-lingual groups (Portuguese and English) almost everything was in Portuguese and we felt left out). The lectures on board were un-professional, from presentation to content. All in all it wasn't a bad experience, however when it costs like a 5 star and promote as such, the expectations were accordingly, and so we were disappointed. I'm not sure that there is a better, more exclusive option around, but bare in mind that the value for money in this case is not good.

We went on the 9 day cruise, which included travel on both the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimoes. I would recommend taking the Rio Negro only, thus boarding on Monday and disembarking Friday. We only had about 80 passengers, but Friday 60 left and 120 boarded for the 3 day Solimoes trip. There are few mosquitoes on the Rio Negro because the water is very acidic. On Rio Solimoes insect bites were more frequent and tended to develop pus right away, and to heal very slowly. The ship is clean, relatively new and very well cared for. A faint musty smell in the rooms Kis generally found everywhere in the tropics due to the humidity. Air conditioning worked well. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable. The ships nurse was amazing, I needed her care for two separate issues and she was exceptionally helpful. She didn't speak English, but there was a translator if needed. My travel companion spoke Portugese with her. A visit to the bridge was fascinating and the guide explained many of the intricacies of the ships workings. We did see the giant lily pads on the Rio Solimoes, as well as an interesting trip to the Rubber Museum which was originally a movie set. I caught the red Piranha below, it was all catch and release. Most people loved the food, the chef's outdid themselves for the two Captain's dinners. Local foods such as manioc oatmeal, manioc soup, and many passion fruit dishes were included, as well as all the traditional buffet foods.

The Maître d was beyond amazing! He went above and beyond to make my husband's birthday special! And ensured that our shower was adjusted (not even his department!) But this is how the staff is. They all have a "can help" attitude and actions! The food options were fabulous. The rooms were classy and clean. The excursion boat captains were skilled and professional! This cruise on the Amazon was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Iberostar!
