Visited Matrix on recommendation for intermittent knee pain during and after training. I've had several sessions now with Peter and Riz and they've been nothing short of fantastic. They both give great contextually relevant exercises with easy to understand explanations of why it will help, but also make sure they are suitable or have alternatives to do at home to continue your training or rehabilitation. Always super friendly and polite and would recommend to anyone!

If could give Riz ten stars, I would. Riz is extremely knowledgeable in terms of supporting your recovery. He takes his time in explaining things to you and is honest with your recovery timeline and what he needs from you. I had torn my ACL and had surgery right before COVID. This meant I couldn't do physiotherapy and this left my knee very stiff. After several months going to Riz, I can workout and run again - and my knee is nearly 100%.

This place is such a find, I've been to several physios over the years, but Riz and Matrix are undeniably the best. Super friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable, I always feel in very safe hands, and my injury is getting sorted after many years. 100% recommend.

I first came to Matrix Physio without knowing what was fully wrong with my knee, as those around me hadn't been able to fully gauge my symptoms. I signed up for sessions with Nico Nyemba, who specialises in sports injury including ACLs, and within one session felt validation and concern for the symptoms I had been showing for the previous weeks. He talked me through the possibility of having an ACL injury with care and support for the emotional challenges around that possibility. While starting initial rehab for my knee, Nico also encouraged me to get an MRI, which did ultimately show that I had a full ACL rupture and Meniscus tear. After the diagnosis and talking through the idea of surgery, it was full steam ahead with a really involved plan for pre-hab to make recovery after my operation easier. Now, two month post-op, attending sessions at Matrix Physio under Nico's instruction are building my confidence incrementally each day that I will be able to get back to sport and my injury will be behind me. The practice really is the perfect mixture between medical expertise and personal training, as I am pushed physically without the anxiety that what I am doing in this recovery phase is unsafe. I highly recommend coming to Matrix Physio and Nico specifically, no matter which phase of your injury or recovery you are in. Professional, kind, and highly involved.

Best in class. Without providing too much of a beatdown on other practitioners, I'd recommend committing to the process with Team Matrix and not waste time & money with cookie cutter treatment elsewhere. Also practicing with integrity - i.e. when you're ready to be "signed off" you get the go ahead as opposed to tactics to keep you "on the books" I have been working with Riz for the past few months on a plethora of things which he has been treating in tandem - post meniscectomy surgery rehab, injury prevention re recurring lower back issues & a shoulder impingement flare up. I've been given the tools, principles & education from the sessions with Riz to be confident in remaining injury free from hereon, whilst pushing forward with performance. Riz is hands on, progressive, practical and clearly an expert in his field having worked/working with high performing athletes and translating this to every day people. Can't recommend the team highly enough,

I started seeing Riz at Matrix Studio about a year ago when I moved to Manchester. I had a preexisting injury in my hip caused during running but hadn't found a relief for years whilst living in the Netherlands. I had a new round of MRI scan and a recommendation of keyhole surgery from doctors in UK. But thanks to Riz I am able to manage my complaint with rehabilitation, regular exercise and guided physiotherapy. Riz took my complaint very seriously and attended to it in a professional manner. I was extremely fortunate to be under care of his expertise. He brings a holistic approach to his practice helping me understand the problem and accommodate the rehabilitation to my lifestyle. I would gladly recommend Riz and Matrix studio to anyone who is struggling with Musculoskeletal issues. It is rare to find such dedication and expertise under one roof.

I have been seeing Riz since November, and he is unbelievably knowledgeable!! After my first appointment he identified my issue and gave me exercises to strengthen the area and within 6 weeks I was back running again! He also does regular check ins to see how I am getting on. Amazing!

Discovering Matrix Physio has honestly been life changing for me! I'd suffered with inexplicable back pain for several years and was starting to feel pretty hopeless before starting treatment with Riz. 6 months later and I have my quality of life back, I'm pain and painkiller free and have peace of mind. Pete has also been brilliant helping me recover from an ankle injury; between them, I'm now in the best health I've felt in a long time. I'd recommend Matrix to anyone, but especially if you feel like you're not getting the answers you need elsewhere. They won't give up on you!

I had a fantastic experience with Riz and the team at Matrix - I've experienced long term knee and hamstring pain, especially when hiking but also whenever I was walking for more than an hour or so - with a multiday long distance hike coming up I felt I had to take measures to get this injury fixed and approached Matrix Physio. After my first session with Riz I felt that he truly understood the root cause of the issue and would put the right programme in place to fix it. Riz developed a 3 month rehabilitation plan that meant that by the time I went on that long distance hike I experienced none of the debilitating pain that I had suffered from before. I can't recommend Riz and Matrix physio enough - the support they have given me has been an absolute game changer!

Went in with an achilles injury from netball and am now almost 100% better! Nico gave me some amazing exercises and stretches in the first session which gradually increased in intensity and movement with each meeting. Not once was I afraid of making it worse, Nico was very clear about when I should stop and rest or keep going. I’ve been to many physios over my 19 year sports career and Nico is by far the best! Thank you!

Came to Riz via a recommendation. I've had previous operations on my knee and great immobility and pain in my shoulder. The assessment was thorough, every step was explained in medical detail (as requested), and every visit was welcoming. My visits were a perfect combination of hands-on manipulation and being shown exercises to help my case (short videos were sent to me too, super helpful) I am now back to training chest with little discomfort, and my knees are strengthening continuously. My gratitude goes to Riz, his knowledge, and his team.

I only have positive things to write about Matrix Physio and Riz. He was great at diagnosing the injury and helping me to understand it physically. Through the rehabilitation process, there was a really good combination of in session exercises and ones to practice at home with the right level of push to recover, whilst also managing expectations. I would 100% recommend Matrix' services - can't beat the feeling of returning to sport after time away

My experience with Matrix Physio has been great. They focus on your treatment well through specific exercises to improve your strength, balance and confidence. Also, they advise you with key exercises and tips to achieve a prompt recovery! Nicolo has helped me a lot from the beginning and my knee has improved significantly.

Matrix Physio is an exceptional clinic. The staff's professionalism and dedication to individualized care set them apart. Aine, one of their skilled physiotherapists, is fantastic. Her personalized approach and expertise have been instrumental in my recovery. Thank you, Matrix Physio and Aine, for the excellent care!

I would highly recommend this clinic. Went there last summer after having recurrent issues with my knee. Peter diagnosed me with runner's knee and help me get back to running in a couple of months. He was great, explained everything thoroughly so I always knew why I had to do one exercise or another. I am now training for a marathon and the knee is still holding up so thank you so much Peter!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Matrix Physiotherapy, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I knew I'm in the right place. The facility itself is modern, clean, and well-equipped, creating a comfortable environment for therapy. Ryszard was highly knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly assess my condition before creating a personalized treatment plan. His expertise and dedication to my recovery were evident throughout each session, and I'm delighted with the progress I've made under his care.

Wholeheartedly recommend Matrix Physiotherapy and Riz in particular. I'm making really great progress with a chronic (over 4 years) injury. The pain is getting better and better and I've been getting stronger again :) Riz goes above and beyond, even filming the drills he sets you and sending them to you on WhatsApp so you have something to refer to. Really sound guy as well. Thank you Riz! :)

Highly recommend Nico for any knee issues! The facility itself Is well equipped, clean and has everything you would need.

Been seeing Nico (the knee guy) at Matrix for a long period of time for a number of ACL injuries, rehab for scar tissue and other debridement issues and cannot recommend them enough. I’m always left feeling more confident with my knee and the progression after each session is unbelievable. Highly recommend.

I have been working with Riz for the past few months and I can honestly say, that he has been brilliant every step of the way. The initial appointment was incredibly thorough and his diagnosis was detailed and concise. Riz is incredibly knowledgable, he doesn’t rely on convoluted explanations or word salads which is incredibly refreshing. This exemplifies his deep understating of biomechanics and physiology, as he is able to offer you a simple and easy to follow explanation without heavily relying on using the Latin name of every muscle, or unnecessary physio jargon. I was given a detailed rehab protocol with exercise regressions and progressions, mobility work and accessory work. Would highly recommend 10/10

After struggling with IT band syndrome for 2 years and seeing other Physio’s with no luck on helping to sort out my injury, I came across Matrix physio on Google. Riz has been absolutely amazing; extremely knowledgeable, personable, and a massive help to me in getting me doing all kinds of activities again that caused me a lot of pain only a few months ago. Could not recommend enough.

I cannot recommend Matrix Physio enough. The team are absolutely amazing. I first went to see Riz with a back problem which was restricting me to do even simple tasks, I received the very best treatment and now I am back to pretty much full mobility and training. I cant thank him and the team enough :)

I can not thank Riz enough, I have suffered with chronic shoulder and hip pain for over a year now, and it was affecting my day to day life. After having just 3 sessions, I haven't had any pain in either my shoulder or hip, and I feel like a new woman! I highly recommend Riz for any pain or injury thank you so much!

Went to Matrix Physio to start my rehab after a shoulder and ACL surgery and it's getting better each session. I have been working with Pete for the past few months and have seen major improvements. My strength and flexibility has never been better since joining Matrix. Pete is an absolute legend, he is super easy-going, professional and knowledgeable. He clearly shows each exercises in detail to ensure I understand and can easily answer any questions. Also, he makes the rehab process so much more enjoyable. I can also say the same thing about Riz. I can't thank both Pete and Riz enough. The team in Matrix Physio are all amazing. Definitely the best Physio in Manchester without a doubt!

Riz was recommended to me and I would have no hesitation in recommending him, or Matrix, to anyone. Great customer care, super friendly and so knowledgeable, Riz will help with any initial or ongoing pain but also work with you to prevent any recurrences or future issues through exercise and rehab.

I came in to see Riz after having a back spasm and he’s been absolutely amazing in my treatment! Really sped up my recovery and was so good at explaining it all to me so I could understand what was happening and what he was doing to fix it. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

I've had a fantastic experience with Matrix Physio and Ryszard more specifically who has be my dedicated therapist throughout my treatment. Your treatment journey is tailored personally to you and the information provided helps you understand what is happening and more importantly why. Great service and great team.

Working in the fitness industry I have been to countless physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors in my time Matrix is the great I have been to, not only from a rehabilitation stand point, but also from a friendly and professional stance too. Initially had a hip injury preventing me from running more than 5km, but now running pain free. Riz is unmatched in this department and will be my physio for any and all future issues.

I have been seeing Riz and his colleagues regularly for around 6 months regarding a number of complex hip and hamstring related injuries arising from running. Riz and his team coordinate with my surgeon so that I always have a joined up approach to treatment. As a patient with a number of complex problems that have required both physio and medical intervention, this joined up approach has been invaluable and goes above and beyond the service one would ordinarily expect. Riz and his team have a thorough understanding of the biomechanics behind my various injuries. The benefits of this are two-fold. First, it means that I leave every session with a proper understanding of what is going on, which ought to assist longer term, once I am discharged. Second, it also means that, when setbacks happen during rehab I know that I have a go-to team, who I can trust, to discuss why things are happening and how we tackle them. Having this high level of trust has been critical to both the physical recovery and maintaining a positive attitude through a complicated return to fitness. Overall, I cannot recommend Matrix highly enough.

I have been very impressed by Riz at Matrix physio. He is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me to maintain a positive attitude to and be confident in my recovery. To aid memory, you receive GIF videos of your exercise plan, which is a great way to remember your programme. Riz is also on hand via WhatsApp message to ask any questions and give advice. The improvement I have made in just 3 sessions is vast!

I came to Matrix Physio with an ankle injury that Nico helped me recover from. We covered strength, flexibility and mobility exercises and followed a plan that got me back to doing the activities I enjoy. Would definitely recommend, thanks Nico!

I’ve been to see Riz at Matrix Physio a few times for an injury to my knee and lower back sustained through sports. Riz had been recommended by some of the coaches at my gym and I can definitely see why! He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in an easy to follow way. I was given simple exercises which could easily be implemented into my weekly training routine and Riz immediately sent me videos of myself doing all the exercises too. This was really useful as when I have previously attended physiotherapy at different places I have been given a list of exercises to do (some of which I struggled to remember once I had left the session). Riz was very reasonable with price, on each occasion I was charged less than I anticipated for the length of time spent at the appointment. Equally, follow up appointments were booked at appropriate intervals for me to implement the exercises and see improvements but not unnecessarily often. Overall I cannot recommend the service enough and I have already recommended Riz to a number of my friends.

I came to see Riz after spraining my ankle and not seeing improvements from another specialist in Manchester. I noticed positive results after my first session and now a few sessions later I am pain free and able to exercise without any problems. Riz has been excellent at giving advice and exercises to complete to help with recovery as well as advise me on improving my ankle strength to prevent another sprain. My experience at Matrix has been brilliant and would highly recommend.

Had a partial slap tear diagnosed by Riz at Matrix Physio. Riz is not just super friendly but seriously knows his stuff. Only about two months of physio and my shoulders back to 95%, doing everything I used to at hundred percent effort - weight training, cricket, you name it. Definitely check him out if you need help; he's the real deal!

Not a bad word to say about Matrix Physio. Most of my experiences were with Riz who was fantastic at diagnosing my injury, explaining this in simple terms and providing a structured plan to a full recovery. However, my experiences with other staff were nothing short of superb either. I wouldn’t use another physio now 😀

I started seeing Riz about a year ago after having back problems due to years of heavy lifting. I can't recommend him enough. Every session is a great experience. Not only has he fixed my problem (for which I had been to other physios for before) but I have been working with him regularly ever since to prevent injury.
