Hotel Gotham is an amazing place with very on-theme interior and decorations all around. The staff are very friendly and always ready to assist with anything. The inner sanctum room is absolutely beautiful with a really comfortable bed and selection of pillows. The interactive projection "windows" are absolutely stunning. The bathroom is beautiful with an amazing rainfall type of shower. Breakfast was nice with continental buffet and cooked breakfast at an additional charge.

Only went for an afternoon tea, a present towards my wife's birthday. We both loved it, what we saw of the hotel was lovey and every member of staff we came across was friendly, helpful and so polite. The tea itself was fabulous, enjoyed every bit of it and were lucky enough to get a window seat which was great. The waiter we had was great too, sorry can't remember his name but he was so informative and had a lovely manner. Also there was someone playing the piano whilst we were eating which made the atmosphere so nice. Would definitely recommend and will definitely going again πŸ‘

I booked into the Hotel Gotham last week for a celebratory afternoon tea following my grandson's graduation. The selection of teas and food were excellent, as was the service. The event was made extra special by my grandson being presented with a plate on which was piped the words 'Congratulations on your Graduation' together with several chocolate covered treats at the end of the afternoon tea. A really nice, unexpected touch. I would definitely recommend this afternoon tea experience. The cost of the afternoon tea was reasonable and compared favourably with other good hotels in Manchester City Centre.

We were lucky enough to stay one night here in the inner sanctum suite- it is incredible! The tv screens with live views of Manchester was an extra bonus! The bed and sofa were both incredibly comfy and the shower was amazing. We decided to eat in the restaurant and had a wonderful meal looking out over the sunset across Manchester and it was stunning the food was fab and the service was brilliant. And because we could we then went up to brass for a cocktail what a cool little bar the service again was wonderful every little detail was perfect even bringing water over whilst we decided on our order. I would absolutely stay again and if you get the chance go you won’t regret it!

Went to the Honey restaurant at the Gotham Hotel for our 15th wedding anniversary. We had the 5 course taster menu. The food was absolutely delicious. Beautifully presented, perfectly balanced. The service was fabulous too. Giovanni was also warm, welcoming and friendly. We will definitely return to Honey and maybe we will make a full night and stay over.

A fabulous hotel in a fabulous building. The room was smart, clean, comfortable, quirky. Great attention to detail. The bathroom was massive with a powerful shower. The dark, gothic theme runs throughout the hotel and makes it unique. A free cocktail on arrival, incredible views from the terrace in the bar, lovely breakfast, friendly staff. I love this hotel and the vibe it has. Very different to anywhere I've stayed before.

Afternoon tea was lovely here, the service was great! Drinks served very quickly and the gin was very aesthetic. Window seat was a treat and background piano music a nice touch. Let down slightly by both our cups being chipped and replacements being cracked and dirty, also would be nice to offer/ ask if happy with the sandwiches before bringing the set. Overall nice, definitely worth using a voucher.

I had reservations about this hotel, despite the very positive reviews. However, upon arriving the service was nothing shy of incredible. The room was amazingly comfortable and clean and the shower was luxurious. The rooftop bar is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the resident cocktails and views. If you have the opportunity to go and stay here, even for just a night, you will not regret it. Special mention to the bar staff of Brass, who were absolutely outstanding.

Wonderful afternoon tea with an additional surprise from the chef at the end for our wedding anniversary. Food was incredible and the service we received from Maurice was the best we’ve ever received when eating out! What a credit he is to the restaurant. We will most certainly becoming back to the restaurant and will also look to staying over in the hotel too. Thank you so much to everyone as all the staff we encountered were lovely and so helpful. Just a wonderful experience beginning to end!

We went for afternoon tea and were treated like queen's! The staff here are some of the most helpful and polite people I have come across. The piano player was great. Such a lovely ambience. We were served by the lovely Joseph. He went above and beyond for us. Such a great server! Thank you Joseph for making our experience so special. I'd definitely recommend this gorgeous hotel.

We had a gorgeous experience here at Hotel Gotham. Fantastic service from the moment we arrived, and our luggage arriving at our room before we checked in which was super speedy. Very sweet staff at reception, and absolutely loved our room. Shower is fantastic with the option of the rain fall or handheld! We also had a drink at the rooftop bar which felt very intimate and the view outside was beautiful. Really made our anniversary - thanks team!

We had a wonderful time using our Afternoon Tea voucher, special thanks to Julio for his exceptional service which was attentive and polite. I fully enjoyed the range of tea, it was a nice surprise to learn I could experience as many as I wanted. The food was delicious and fresh and the restaurant was beautiful.

This place is not just a hotel; it's an experience, a journey that starts from the moment you set foot in the grandiose building. The front desk? They've mastered the art of polite and friendly, and they do it every single time. Now, the rooms, they've got style, but it's like they're channeling the elegance of a 1920s bank – And spotless? Every single time. It's the kind of place that makes you go, 'Wow, this is really, really nice.' You get your money's worth, and then some. I've scoured Manchester for something more than your run-of-the-mill 'clean chic' room like what the Hilton offers. But no matter where I wander, my thoughts always drift back to Gotham. It's become the gold standard in my book. In my humble opinion, it's the best hotel in Gotham, with a charisma and show that are second to none.

Lovely stay. Rooms have everything you need and very comfortable and luxurious. Staff friendly and welcoming especially the concierge. Only negative is the very disappointing breakfast. Service poor with staff on their phones and giggling together. Bread stale and chewy, no grapefruit juice and the cooked breakfast had a cheap, processed sausage, raw tomato and horrid bread. Such a let down after a wonderful evening meal yesterday

I treated my Husband to afternoon tea at the swanky Gotham Hotel in Manchester & we weren't disappointed. Beautiful tiny cakes, tasty finger sandwiches & ice cold Taittinger....it was absolutely delicious. We loved the art deco tea set & crisp white linen, we enjoyed it so much that we will definitely be returning very soon 🍾

Gilt Club is well worth a look at if you want a Big Band jazz experience. The NQBB 12 piece orchestra were very very good, and created a real speakeasy vibe along with dancing and interaction. Great fun in a Saturday night. Highly recommend

Very disappointed with our stay !!! For the cost I expected a lots more from such a highly recommended hotel I think the restaurant was above our room and there were chairs scraping across the floor until past midnight The service at breakfast was not explained to us and only found out from over hearing other people being seated that we could help ourselves to the continental item and we weren’t offered any toast with our breakfast as others were The room was very nice but found hair over the desk chair and coffee wrapper rubbish on the floor The room was lovely and a nice nice touch on arrival of a cake platter being placed in our room The staff were all lovely but we wouldn’t go back in a hurry

Very, very happy with our stay here. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, tidy and loved the little touches like the turn down service and the cookies. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Highly recommend and would love to stay again one day.

I took my husband here for his 55th birthday. Everything was great! The only downside is that I booked a King bed but it was a double. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, beautiful building!

If I could give six star's I would. We had an amazing afternoon here at Club Brass, the food, drinks & service was outstanding. Extremely polite and professional team. Views where fantastic. We can't wait to return again.

Always a warm welcome and comfortable stay at the brilliantly located Hotel Gotham. Nothing feels too much trouble for the staff, the rooms are luxurious, clean and comfortable. Restaurant, bar and communal areas are all done to a high standard. Would recommend this place for couples and special occasions.

This hotel was probably quite nice when it opened, but it is now in desperate need of a refresh. My room had a stained carpet, loose fixtures, a hole in the bedding, a temperamental shower and a very dated TV. I also found the 'Gatsby' theme a bit tacky, but that is a matter of personal taste. You can find much better for the price in central Manchester.

Had afternoon tea which was very tasty and filling, impeccable service from all the staff, from entering this iconic building to all the wait staff. A very nice surprise for our anniversary. Finished off with a Johnny's Margareta.

Wonderful afternoon tea in Honey restaurant. The food was excellent, delicious sandwiches, tasty scones and selection of beautiful cakes. We enjoyed choosing teas from the selection jars and the service from Antonio and the rest of the team was first class. Would highly recommend!

Had a great time on an overnight stay, we stayed in an executive club which was a decent size with a very large bathroom. The place is really well presented, unique features and all round pretty cool. The staff were all fantastic and have zero complaints. As expected it’s not the cheapest place on earth and in the top floor brass club you will find and extensive collection of ballers and pretentious millennials having after work drinks but makes for great people watching. I thought breakfast was a bit pricey at Β£25 when you can go over the road to browns and have an equally good breakfast for half the price. Overall a pleasurable stay and if I win the lottery I will stay a lot more.

Wow, wow, wow! After a long drive from Southampton in Easter traffic, this centrally located stunner was a joy & absolute pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble - every staff member was welcoming & friendly. Valet service was fast and easy. Popped up to Brass for a nightcap and received the same incredible service. Room was luxurious, bed was super comfortable and shower was amazing! Location is great, walking distance from some excellent shopping & eateries. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Manchester.

I booked afternoon tea at Hotel Gotham for my partners birthday. The person I spoke with when booking, asked if it was a special occasion. I informed them it was and gave details. I then added another person to our booking using their online system. Again it asked for details of the occasion and I entered the information. On the day of our booking we arrived and were greeted by friendly staff. On being shown to our table the person whispered to me 'it's his birthday isn't it'? To which I responded, yes. I wasn't sure what to expect but after being asked twice and providing information online, you would at least expect some acknowledgement for my partner. However, to my disappointment, nothing more was mentioned. A bit of a let down to say the least. The afternoon tea was ok, nothing special and I've had better. The ratio of sandwiches to cakes/scones was heavily balanced towards the sweeter end. I would have like more than a few finger sandwiches. We didn't finish all the cakes as it was far too sweet. The tea selection was good but we only got one serving each. After the occasion I received an email requesting feedback on our experience. I responded with what I've written above. I received a reply stating that the sender was equally disappointed at our experience. They asked for time to look into things and get back to me. The email was a no reply address! Two weeks later and I've heard nothing. I doubt we'll be going back.

The staff are so polite and friendly, from the door men greeting you to the receptionists explaining all the details of your stay. The room is epic with great views over the city, we have 3 windows with lots of natural light available. Bathroom is a great size with a massive shower. Honestly I’d fully recommend staying here if you can. Treat yourself. The location is spot on as well, takes 3 mins to walk to market street.

I recently stayed at Hotel Gotham, a 5-star establishment with charming Christmas decor and a lovely room. While the festive ambiance, delightful breakfast the next day, and genuinely pleasant staff, along with the thoughtful service of having our bags brought to our room, were positive aspects of our stay, issues arose at the singular bar. While the bar scheduled for 7 PM. itself contributes positively to the overall experience, we encountered an issue when informed about a private party Despite our intention to enjoy the bar until the party's commencement, we were abruptly asked to leave at 7 PM. This was particularly inconvenient, as we could have chosen alternative accommodations that accommodate private events and their guests. Adding to the disappointment, my husband purchased a drink at 6:30 PM, only to be told ten minutes later that we had to vacate early due to the early arrival of the party. When I questioned this abrupt decision, I was met with what I perceived as rudeness. Reporting the incident to the reception led to an apology and complimentary drinks, to our room, a gesture that was appreciated but not without its own hiccups. The following day, we discovered an attempt to charge us for these complimentary drinks, which was promptly corrected by a diligent receptionist. While the room was nice, a broken ironing board and the bar incident led to a less-than-ideal 5-star experience. If the hotel addresses these issues, it has the potential to truly shine and provide an exceptional stay for its guests. On a positive note, dining at Ikaro, just a 6-minute walk away, was a highlight.

Super impressed with the Gotham, love the attention to detail and the touches to make the stay more exciting. Bedroom was good, a little on the cosy side but very well equipped, bathroom was excellent, and location and check in experience was also great, would highly recommend

Went for afternoon tea on a Sunday, it was quite busy but never rushed. Honey Restaurant had a relaxed ambience and we got a lovely window seat. The food was great. (Nicer food and a much more pleasant atmosphere than the Midland!)

  • 5/5 Rachel P. 2 years ago on Google
The staff were amazing. Very polite from the door staff to the Honey restaurant staff and all inbetween. I even bumped into a member of staff who was leaving for the day and she took the time to point me in the right direction. Your staff are wonderful. Our server was kind, polite and attentive without being overly intrusive. The restaurant was lovely and so was the food (could have had a few more sandwiches but they were lovely). I would love to return and sample the full menu and would hope to do this fairly soon.

We've been talking about coming here for a year now, and boy it didn't disappoint! Our suite was spotless, with great little touches. The valet parking and concierge staff were awesome on arrival and depature. A welcome french martini was a big plus for me! Great roof top bar, where the waitress made fabulous drink recommendations based off our first drinks order. The turn down service was a nice touch. We will be visiting again. Thank you!

Awesome, even has an electronic shoe done machine in the loos, aptly named Kings and Queens, so you can use whichever you want. The AFTERNOON TEA delicious, a choice of teas, champagne and other drinks, staff discreet, polite and well turned out. Definitely recommend this establishment

We loved the style of our room and the hotel was very stylish in general. The location was also ideal. The only thing we would rate 4/5 rather than 5/5 was the breakfast, but other than that it was a 5* experience

My children bought me a Virgin Experience afternoon tea voucher for my birthday. My partner and I were taken aback by the decor on entering the hotel at the reception and again when we were shown to our table - it was really quirky. We placed our order and my partner's coffee arrived with no teaspoon my coronation chicken sandwich had some smoked salmon stuck to the bottom of it and there was only one tiny pot of clotted cream between the 2 of us so we had to ask for more. I think at Β£35 per head everything should have been perfect!

Room decor was very stylish, unfortunately the bed/pillows were not the most comfortable. Bathroom was perfect. Breakfast over priced , staff pleasant enough . Worth the hype ? Not too sure !

We had a wonderful Champagne Afternoon tea. The food was delicious, one if the best afternoon teas I have ever had. The staff were attentive but Nora stood out. She was amazing and made us both feel very special, and Maurice was lovely. They both made a fuss of us, which we loved. I can't wait to return.

Made to feel very welcome from the moment we entered the hotel. (Lovely decor). We had an afternoon tea booked but we arrived early, the staff offered us coffee/tea (even a cucumber flavoured water) then showed us to the outdoor terrace or indoor area to wait. Nothing was too much trouble, all members of staff were so pleasant and made us feel very relaxed. The outdoor terraces are stunning, the afternoon tea was absolutely gorgeous. The only negative, for a five star hotel, I wouldn’t expect chipped cups (I didn’t complain though as everything else was perfect). Next time maybe a stay over as a treat!

The staff were exceptional from the front door and throughout, we visited the bar and had afternoon tea and at every stage we were looked after beautifully! The decor and ambiance were wonderful and finally the food and drinks were absolutely amazing and delicious. I will highly recommend this place and I will be returning!

Second time we've had the 5 course tasting menu, and we were not disappointed. The food was wonderful and each course perfectly balanced. And a massive shout out to our server Eloise, who was polite, attentive, and was really interested in our opinions of the food. All in all a fantastic evening.

What a lovely time we had at The Gotham for afternoon tea yesterday. The 3 of us were there to celebrate my daughter's 50th birthday. Our waiter Maurice was absolutely wonderful, so attentive and very entertaining! He made it a lovely afternoon for us. The food was lovely as well. Thank you so much Maurice . We would definitely have no hesitation in returning.

We went for afternoon as a gift from a relative, and we were not disappointed. The staff were excellent, apart from one guy who we asked for a little box for leftovers and he vanished, the rest were great. The food itself was amazing. We're not massive fans of salmon, so the salmon sandwiches were swapped out for chicken. Scones were incredible, and the cakes were to die for. I'd recommend a visit.

The waiter we had, called Julio was simply SUPERB! Incredible experience delivered by him. He was charming, funny and an excellent representative for your business. I must also note the lady who was working at the front of house desk at Honey (I did not catch her name) was also excellent - welcoming and very very helpful. What a great day out we had. Thank you.

  • 5/5 Sandra F. 10 months ago on Google
We had lovely afternoon tea in served in the comfortable, bright Honey restaurant. The service was discreet but the waiter was on hand if we needed anything. The food was excellent with an unusual but tasty choice of sandwiches and cakes. A nice touch was being able to check the flavour of the different tea beforehand. We both felt relaxed and welcomed and had a really pleasant time.

  • 5/5 Michalla W. 10 months ago on Google
Had afternoon tea here. It was fantastic. Good choice of sandwiches and cakes. Very nice. And an extensive list of tea to choose from. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. Our waiter was so polite, he was a credit to the hotel. Nice treat.

Fantastic overnighter here - really quirky and fun styling. Staff are friendly and fabulous. Rooftop bar is great! Dropped a star as it was very expensive on the night we needed to stay, dropping significantly other nights. I understand supply and demand, however most things - including very inconsequential forgotten items such as a plaster or toothpaste came with a hefty price tag (you have to buy a kit) and really ought to be included. Would recommend!

Perfect city centre stay in an ideal location. Beautiful boutique hotel with charm and character. The staff are so welcoming and professional at every level and are all a huge credit to the hotel. We booked a standard room (room 210) and were very impressed with the quality and luxury furnishings, room size and finishing touches. The room was also very peaceful with great a/c and we had a perfect night sleep. The full breakfast service is also so good with a fantastic city skyline view. I've been a loyal member for over 20yrs with the largest hotel group and I've recently been treated so badly by the hotel group that I'm now finding such wonderful alternatives, and far more competitive, hotels such as Hotel Gotham. I'm more than happy to scrap hotel loyalty program's and spend my hard earned money with independent hotel brands. I'd totally recommend Hotel Gotham and will certainly return.

We went to Gotham Hotel for an afternoon tea for two! It was absolutely divine. The service, the food, the atmosphere. We will be back for a tasting menu. There was a couple sitting next to us having the tasting menu and it looked really great! Thanks for having us!
